No. More like you just get... well, really weak. And can't use any powers you have, since doing so uses Chroma.
But it actually is that easy. Granted, like I said, you'd probably be struggling if you don't do more than that, but keeping it to things like hugs is totally doable. Especially if you get a job so you have another source of money... though that'll only help you with the money part. It won't help with the running out of Chroma and getting exhausted because of it part.
