And really, he's not so bad, is he? He's getting on with her just fine. (Though, she is essentially Level 0 on the grand scale of social interactions, or even the tutorial mode. She tries her best to be as easy as possible for absolutely anyone.)

Admittedly with a lopsided little smile, because what about that even sounds real? But it had been, hadn't it? Jesse was there. There's no denying that much, and that it was his fault she'd had to give chase at all. Leave it to the cowboy to want to ride a wild mare who tried to kick them off high in the atmosphere— but it had been a wonderful view of the planet they orbit.

The Earth was beautiful from space as well, when you couldn't see the wars taking place on its surface.
