[ His foot gently slides into Vane's laced hands, using that as a foothold to hoist himself up so he can reach his preferred apple. It does seem redder than all the rest, hence the deep and instant attraction to it, though he doesn't intent to allow it to be baked. An apple like this should be savored in its natural state rather than peeled and placed in a pie, something he's sure even Vane can appreciate.

Once he's back down, he removes a short knife from his boot so he can slice the apple in two then toss half of it to Vane. It's going to feel so good eating actual fresh food after those powder packets, an experience he doesn't want to relive anytime soon. ]

Here, eat it. Even though they fed us on that moon, the food was clearly processed and preserved. I learned from the locals that it is impossible to grow anything there.

[ At least, the rest of what Vane says clears up the matter of what they do and don't remember. He ascertains it's everything. Vane likely remembers everything. And he isn't sure exactly how he feels about that yet. He'd been hoping to put the matter behind them and simply to return to some semblance of normalcy, but every world he ends up won't give him that kind of leverage.

He closes his eyes for a moment and sighs before murmuring- ]

[ As nice as this all is compared to Duplicity, it's not their destination, and he can't afford to let them all get distracted once more. He has to try and remember how they even got here to begin with since it's now become apparent that it is possible for them to jump from world to world, either through magic or machinery. ]
