it's just hilarious to me because akechi's like "yes, I will subtly tug on her necklace, evoking the act of strangulation" and haru's like "welp, knife in the fuckin kidneys"

AND YES THATS THE WHOLE SYMPATHY BIT but like you did also kill a lot of people akechi including her dad

He would kinda have ended up dead if he hadn't done what Shido told him...

(He doesn't actually even dislike Haru, he's just...terrified of her, because he fully expects her to brutally murder him the first chance she gets.)

....He'd let her hit him if it'd make her feel better, as long as she didn't try to outright kill him. He's trying to atone now that he's free of Shido's control and aware that Shido already knew he planned to betray him, and that includes doing what he can to make things up to the people he's hurt.

Just, please no broken bones, he still doesn't have any healing skills and he doesn't want to go begging Ren for heals. I'd be embarrassing.

Well...it's not like he isn't used to headaches. At least this one doesn't come with people screeching his name at the top of their lungs.

......He just hopes she isn't too bothered by the fact that he's dating Ren. Well, rival-dating? It's complicated, but the point is that they're in some sort of romantic relationship that involves friendly competition and playful bickering.

the fact that someone she considers a close trusted friend is dating the guy who killed her dad is probably going to be a little upsetting ngl

His first reaction if she showed it would probably be to assume Ren's going to/should break up with him, since what is believing he's worth trying to change people's opinions.

He already doesn't get why the Thieves already here are giving him a chance to redeem himself instead of shunning and/or murdering him.

Haru's feelings on the matter are Complicated, to say the least LOL. She can probably be talked into allowing him to try to redeem himself if she thinks he actually really repents but

idk, it'll probably be something of a Process for her, emotionally.

He does feel awful about the innocent people he's killed, though...his only regret about president Okumura is that he took Haru's chance at punishing him herself and stuck her with responsibility for the company in the middle of a criminal investigation. He can't comprehend what she really wanted to do, since he never had a positive relationship with any of the people who hurt him.

I would love to play out Haru trying to explain to him the real reason she's upset about her father's death, though. He could use some more shades of gray thrown at his black and white view of people.
