Whatever is inside the satchel might be repelling them but it might only be for so long until they might try to bite him, eventually. But this does give the tall apothecary the time to come approach anyone who seems to have been bitten and having an ailment from it, giving them a friendly touch on their shoulder as he looked with concern. Beware, he is a touchy guy. (But very friendly and innocent about it. No malicious or creep intentions when he does it.) ]

But also consider finding him trying to get more familiar with the plant life around here as he gets as settled as he can around here.]
