[ he draws the silver rapier at his hip—which is actually a wand—and gives it a flick; he's briefly obscured by myriad sparkles of orange light.

[ honestly, the voice is a pretty good approximation, too. ]

Well, time to go bother people at random. Sadly, but for obvious reasons, I have no friends.

(Of all the things and reasons.. this was the most ridiculous show he'd ever seen of a child throwing a fit. Even the replication of his own self wasn't enough to escalate him past a twitch to his brow.)

None whatsoever! Because whenever someone approaches me in a friendly way, I snap at them! Then, if they are displeased, I laugh creepily about it. And if, even after that, they are foolish enough to indicate a continued willingness to get along with me, I simply insult and antagonize them until they realize what a dull and deeply unpleasant person I will always choose to be.

At this point they usually lose patience with me and go do something else. But if I am lucky I will have managed to hurt their feelings, or at least ensure that their day is a little bit worse than it would have been if we'd never met.

But you know all that, of course. After all, you're me!

(He actually didn't clue in until nearly the end of what the little magic boy was saying. It made the last bit of what he said predictable. Kanda shifts his weight between his feet and cocks his head.)

Right. Why are you still here, and why wear my unpleasant face then?

[ titus stares at him blankly for a few moments

then he takes out his device ]

(Kanda doesn't see himself, rather, he sees the little demon that once was before he placed a spell over him. Or whatever it was. He had to wonder, though, did this boy really have any friends or was he waiting around because he was projecting onto Kanda the fact the little demon didn't have any friends.)

A selfie? You need your own face for that.

Oh, indeed. As I recall, you didn't want this one plastered all over the prismanet, did you?

[ he snaps a pic... then another... and another. gotta hit all the angles! he also cycles through a number of poses and facial expressions, ranging from charming to sultry to simply undignified. and perhaps kanda himself can see through the illusion, but the camera sure can't... ]

(Kanda watches for a moment, at first a little shocked, but now just annoyed - which was exactly this little demon's goal (evidently). He endeavors to snatch the communication device from the other and he expects some resistance but he's going to give it his all to claim it.)

Oh, good idea! High-angle shot!

[ directed by his wand, the device zips up into the air and out of reach! but he doesn't stop taking pictures. and now both of them are in the shot! ]

(He smothers the other. Or - at least - endeavors to. He pulls his arms around the demon's face and shoulders, and holds his arms in a fold over the other's head. (at least he would attempt to, if he can) if he cannot achieve this smothering, he's going to just start walking away. This is all terrible. Very terrible.)

[ what actually happens next...
could go a couple of different ways.

if there's any hostility in kanda's actions—that is, any actual desire to do harm, however minor—then he won't be able to touch titus at all, because his spherical protective barrier will activate on its own to shield him.

but if he's mostly just trying to be a nuisance or distraction, then it will work perfectly and titus's angry shouts will be muffled against kanda's arms!!

meanwhile, the camera is still taking pictures. ]

(Definitely no intention to actually harm, but he's definitely intending to reciprocate the nuisance he's receiving from the little demon. He snorts.)

I can't imagine you having any friends here. Little demon.

[ another swipe of his wand, and he uses a blast of force magic to decisively shove kanda away (or at least far enough that he can speak without his voice being blocked). he also takes off the kanda illusion because he's sick of looking like this douche... ]

You beast!! What is the matter with you?! Is there nothing in your head but violent and perverted impulses? How hard is it to say "Please stop that," or "I'd appreciate it if you didn't," or for that matter "I apologize for my appalling rudeness"??

And my name is Titus Alexius, and I have dozens of friends, unlike you!!

[ the camera.... is still taking pictures ]

(What a scrapbook that'll make. Kanda huffs and doesn't think for one second the boy's words were at all true. Of course, Kanda wasn't going to ask for anything, he was the type to take it - or leave it. He didn't care what the kid's name was, he'll always be little demon to him.)

Yet, you still remain, when you have better company to chase after.

And so do you, though I suppose in your case there is no one better who'd be willing to waste their time on you.

[ he straightens up his clothing, exhales forcefully, and makes his device float back down into his hand. ]

Do you treat everyone you meet this terribly?

(He nearly responded with: only demons. Yet something stopped him and he considered the other before he spoke.)

Why do you expect to be treated otherwise?

So I deserve to have strangers be awful to me for no reason, is that it?

You deserve otherwise? Is that your expectation? For everyone to be kind to you?

If I am kind to them, why not? What sort of miserable person goes around being cruel to everyone and expecting to be treated cruelly in return?

Because no one owes anyone anything, least of all kindness.

Kindness is the least of what we owe each other! Why not just let the demons win if you wish for such a bleak, unhappy world?
