alksdfj shizun actually can knit now... he picked it up during the event where knitting was involved, great way to keep his hands busy! and... he's had to cook for himself the entire time here (he learned since he realised eating out was going to be too expensive LAKSDJ and he wasn't getting fed by anyone) so he can bring the goods...
Clearlt, SQQ needs to teach them how to knit. Also, CWN has discovered instant noodles without the intervention of his disciple his diet would probably consist mostly of that. IT'S SO CHEAP. And convenient! (As someone who likes cooking he makes me want to cry)
tbf i think shen qingqiu the original is basically trying to live that life and getting fed by others so he eats okay, cwn is not alone! sqq the second would be there if he wasn't also fond of actually eating well, and eating tasteless crap offends him... so he's learned how to cook just never compare what he makes to his disciple's cooking, it is utterly unfair!
and yes, time to knit, someone ensure gu yun has enough chroma he can see and feel--
Xichen can offer the gentlest callouts I guess. And he might kind of not fully intentionally end up wanting to learn about mechanical things. And be around with actual decent flute playing?
Will gentle call outs work? It'll be interesting to see if that is effective or not (it probably is). He can teach! This is one of his specialties and he's not exactly the sort to keep knowledge to himself.
ALSO MUSIC FRIENDS. He misses his guqin so much...they should totally jam! Or something.
Who knows... I mean, they haven't worked out for Xichen so far, but he can't really do more...
I've been thinking, and I'll need to check with lwj's player, but it's not inconceivable that the Lans might be able to make guqin, considering they have the skill of work with the strings themselves and we do see lwj having the tools and fixing wwx's bamboo flute.
And we do know that people who are used to Wangji have a decent luck with Chu Wanning... HUMPH. (And then one day cwn learning the tangled part of Xichen being party to killing both his sworn brothers, without meaning to, and staring at him and his life choices...)
It could be a trade, knowledge for the instrument...
PLEASE DO. Even though he won't revert to a child form without reason...but the reason could sometimes just be 'he did something embarrassing and now he wants to hide from people'...
IT'S THE WORST! He once whipped a client over the injustices the ghost that was haunting them suffered at the hands of his family. That entire scene was great.
