Oh shit after they talk some more, he'd absolutely collaborate. I'm actually thinking about Engie potentially having his own workshop somewhere down the line (or at least doing stuff in his own apartment), so Matt could def get in on something.

What's your favorite Saints Row game, and what are you hoping for in a sequel?

RP wise, what's your dream CR (doesn't have to be a character in this game either)

this is such a difficult question - probably 2, honestly. the character creator and wardrobe options in 2 were fantastic, the cutscene replay options were a godsend, and Rebecca Sanabria's VA for Boss will always remain my favorite. the controls and bugs leave... a LOT to be desired though. 4 is a VERY close second.

for a sequel... a LOT of people want a reboot? which I wouldn't be entirely opposed to! I understand the idea that like... there's NOT much to go forward on at this point. the GOoH endings give some fun options though - the hostile alien planet could be fun, the alternative universe w/ Gat as a detective could also be a LOT of fun! really, the most important thing, regardless of direction, is the tone of it. it'd need to keep the same humor and feeling from the rest of the series, and with so much of the original writing staff gone (ESP Jaros...) I'm worried it wouldn't have the same heart?

that's honestly such a hard question. I've played Matt for... a ridiculously long time and have already gotten a huge variety of CR that I would have never expected and it was all incredible, much of which I would already call my dream CR. From amazing OCs to canonmates to obscure canons to popular canons it's just... God, a lot of things I never would have imagined. I also already have CR here that I'm in love with.

I will say that one character I would love to play Matt off of is Travis Touchdown.

What's your favorite Persona & social link in the series? What drew you to play Ren?

Oh man I loved 2 a lot as well. Granted I got into the series with the 3rd game then went back so it was weird going back to a more serious game (well serious...er? Like holy shit that part with the truck trunk revenge made me holy shit outloud cause I had not expected that amount of vengence)

Yeah SH has a lot of a balancing act and they were getting really good with keeping it zany but having interesting moments, and after all of this, I can understand wanting to reboot it. And don't worry I have a lot of feelings about SR too...

Oh man Travis...that would be so hilarious and also nerdy. Nerdlarious? Yes I will go with that.

Oh god favorite Persona, honestly I think Arsene partly because he was designed to be Mesphisto at first (you can tell from the red and overall design, and the little hornlike things that form his mask) so you've got a beautiful combo of damper demon gentleman thief and the wings just look so perfect. Granted part of me also really loves Hades from Persona 2 as a very close second (I keep switching between both honestly and he was top tier before P5 came around) because of how ridiculous he looks but all the symbolism crammed in him? The pomegranate wedding dress? The three headed bouquet? The overall Visual Kei-inspired aesthetic it's just so goofy and yet somehow works well.

Social Link - Shinjiro's P3P link is still my favorite. It was SO GOOD and so sad. Just having him ask the female protagonist talk to him until she didn't know what to say anymore, just so he could hear her talk...honestly that made me so sad for him.

My question: Matt's Persona; who would it be, and what type of summoning do you think he'd fall into (Mask ripping, card smashing, gun shootin)

God, Arsene is so choice. /chinhands

MMMMMMM god, he'd definitely be Magician arcana, he fits the archetype, and for all of Matt's drama about creating and ruling over entire worlds and his username, there's really no other choice but Surt.

Probably the tarot card method. Matt's fear of dying would make the evoker route way too intense for him, and I can't see him handling the mask too well, either.

Are there any other characters you considered for Prismatica?

~~Plus he's voiced by Yuri Lowenthal okay I'll see myself out~~ also Surt is a great choice I'm sure they could unique revamp him as they tend to do when they become a character's Persona.

In terms of who I thought about before apping Ren, I almost apped Yu from P4 and Naoya from Persona 1 (I have a thing for protags, sob), but as other franchises, I thought about Gandrayda from Metroid (and will be apping her next month because shapeshifters in this world will be great) and I thought about Hank too from Detroit: Become Human, but I wanted to wait a bit and see how it goes with Ren first.

What about you? Did you have terrible thoughts about who to bring into this game?

OH MAN those are some great choices - As much as I dislike David Cage, I LOVED Detroit (And I play Norman Jayden from Heavy Rain, so.)

The biggest choice was whether to bring in Matt or Boss, since one would lock me out of the other. As much as I love Boss, I am far less shaky with Matt's voice. The other character I REALLY want to bring is has WAY too little canon; Party Poison from Danger Days: True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. He like... Only exists in music videos and a few twitter threads and the rest is pure fanon so there's no way.

Is there any particular reason you chose Cordis for Ren?

This is me feeling too "god I hate David Cage but I love X in his X game" and in this case it was "man Hank and Connor's dynamic was so great I love it but I guess that's just case Bryan and Clancy have get chemistry."

Boss is great but I defiantly understand having Matt around, there's a lot you can do with him too. I have never heard of Party Poison but yeah, the sadness when you find a really great character but you know they'll be too much fanon to be appable.

Yes! Admittedly first and foremost for the animals. Giving him owl buttwings/lower back wings to make him look like Arsene with some fox (because orange and red) and cat (because Mona even if not a cat™ ). Then the bonus of being able to boost his already boosted speed and he's going to be bouncing from buildings it's gonna be hilarious (also the eating everything makes me laugh considering the big bang burger challenge.

omg I LOVE the chimera idea a ton.

HONESTLY I was caught between Iris and Cordis for a while! What tipped the scales was the powers; Electric magic is INCREDIBLY on brand for him, and regenerative healing felt pretty in-line with all the abuse he takes in canon.

The Cordis temperament was REALLY tempting for Matt bc he's such a little gremlin, and I was suuuuper tempted to make him a lynx or bobcat or an owl (or combine and make him the world's shittiest sphinx; let him smugly prance around and make people solve stupid computer riddles for his own dumb self-satisfaction)

I was like.... ok, but jackalope... and then... FAUN THO... and that, combined with the powers...

Also, imagine his GREAT disappointment when everyone else gets cool animals in the earlier cycle, he's getting SO pumped, and the Iris moon rolls around and he's like

"... Can I get a redo :/"

and tbh, having grown up next to a beach with an irrational fear of jellyfish, it took until like... other people even began considering the option for me to think of it as viable, and I'm still only considering bioluminescence at most - which, admittedly, would again be very on brand for Matt, so he will probably get glowing deer spots
