QUESTIONS MEME

THE QUESTIONS MEME
A first big 'n successful round of apps has concluded and the game is getting off to a roll - since there are always brains to be picked and new pals and acquaintances to be made, how's about we all play a little getting-to-know-you game?
HOW TO PLAY:
• Leave a comment below with your name and the characters who you play.
• Respond to others' comments with questions - they can be about their characters, their current in-game plans or things they'd like to play, their CR, RP in general, their canons and fandoms, or most anything else.
• Answer questions you've received! Keep it short or TL;DR to your heart's content, depending on how much you have or are in the mood to say!
• After each answer you give, ask a question back to the person who answered you. Keep the thread of questioning up for as long as both parties are game!
• Go for it - make friends, make new plans, make anything you like!

I think P3 was the gateway drug to a lot of people cause that was mine too. I ended up buying the game when I saw "My life is a goddamn mess" Let's Play on the Something Awful forums ages ago, bought the game and then promptly fell into Persona hell. I'm the type of person who likes all sorts of supplemental stuff too, as in, things that are canon because they were official Atlus-sponsored stuff, but you don't need to know about them to play or RP the characters, if that makes sense?
It's more "oh good here's more stuff I can use for RPing that wasn't presented in the games!" which is why I love to share all the stuff I have/bought/asked people to translate for me. For example, there's a beautiful picture of Akihiko at his desk doing an exam and sitting without a chair so he can work on his legs like Akihiko please, or Shinjiro opening his coat with all sort of knives inside (with Fuuka clapping in the back).
After I was done with P3....two times, by that time P4 had just come out, I bought a copy then I didn't play it for a few months cause I started on hard and got my ass kicked by Shadow Yukiko before getting back into it and loving it just as much as P3. Then with the long break between both games, I played P1, had trouble with a lot of it, ended up reading the manga, then played P2 and absolutely loved everything about it and then P5 by that time finally came out and was glorious and amazing.
Honestly I would say read the manga for Persona 1 if old school RPing isn't for you, it's super good and fully translated now. I've played P2 on twitch about three times so that gives you an idea if how much I love it (also it's much shorter so with a few boosts (cough cough cheating codes cough) it goes on pretty fast with the plot since there's no social links to rank up, insert joke about sunglasses hitler here.
If you could force Atlus to make one game/sequel, what would it be?

It was mine because a friend (..ex friend now hoo boy) dumped it, P4 and a couple other games on me when I ahd a bad breakup and I uh. Wound up playing 3, 4, and the first Dragon Age all in like. Two months? To get my brain somewhere else and I fell in love with all these weird children. I'll forever hatelove Atlus for making me fall so much for Junpei who I thought I would Loathe at first becuase, well, what he seems to be.
Yeeah I. you'd think with Final Fantasy VII being the first real game I ever beat by myself I would gel better with 1 and 2 right off, but I think it was jumping from 3 and 4 not having the demon contract system to that that was weird (and I really think 5 did a great job of integrating that back in in a way that didn't break pace).
Ohhh wow okay uhhhhh. okay I just thought about it hard, and I am still super Bitter the that Folklore/Folktale got treated so poorly and nearly got a sequel on the PSP but didn't so hell if we're talking pipedreams, give that to Atlus it would be interesting to see what they'd do with that universe.
Next favorite RPG (JRPG or Western) game/series after Persona/SMT?

Oh man that's a good one! I remember them briefly when they were like flagship titles for the PS3.
I love the Dragon Quest series, but hearing about the piece of shit musician putting midis even in the newer games so he can sell orchestrated soundtracks to just being a general piece of shit with his stance on LGBTQ in Japan - he's an old and stupid bitter man. It has immensely soured the games for me by osmosis which is a damn shame cause I love the soundtracks (when they are orchestrated) and this battle song from DQ4 is so good especially when it's orchestrated and URGH let me tell you how I am pissed off the musician is a piece of shit because DQ4 is still one my of my favorite games, it has a Princess who IS PURELY A TANK WITH NO MAGIC and she's accompanied by a male healer cleric which blew my mind as a kid. That was my first OTP and also the bad guy looks like Sephiroth (but came a lot before him so you know Enix and Square copying off each other before Enix bought them out).
So ANYWAY because for some reason they tend to count, the Zelda Series is my favorite RPG (I guess they call it an action RPG? idk), but if we go purely RPG, PAPER MARIO especially Thousand Year Door just holds a special place in my heart and I'm sad they never made proper sequels to the game and it's absolutely wacky storylines.
Western: Elder Scrolls simply due to the number of hours I've spent in Oblivion, Skyrim and Morrowwind.
You mentioned Folklore, but apart from that, if you had the power to remake one game, which would you choose and which company would get to make it?

I grew up as a Genesis/Playstation kid so I am only now dipping my toe into nintendo franchises so uh, yeah, I need to Get to Zelda and the Mario RPGs still man.
Ooooh okay we'll. Pretend the FFVII remake is still actually happening and forget how much I'm sideeying the battle system change and go with. Oh mannn uh. All right, after playing WayForward's Ducktales remake (tho I never played the first), I'd love for them to take on a Quackshot remake since that aesthetic would work really well for it and Quackshot does not get enough love.
TURNING IT BACK TO YOU THEN what remake would you love to see/by who because it's always so fun to hear which of our beloved games we'd like to see polished up etc so others can play them without some of the Clunk that might not be accepted now etc (looking atyou lack of battery save on Quackshot)

Apart from that, I'm super lucky that a lot of the remakes I wanted are either in development (Link's Awakening) or have already been made (Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, Gabriel Knight, Resident Evil 2, DQ4 had a DS port). Maybe a Darkwing Duck remake ala Ducktales.
Shit and giggles answer; I'd get Phantasmagoria remade just to see how 'amazing' it could be with state of the art graphics and some good acting.
Back to RPing, what do you look forward to doing with her in the game?
no subject
Annd oh boy. So, without giving too many spoilers for the movie, Mandy narrates a lot of the movie talking about the events from about ten years from her current canon point, and is clealry very jaded and burned out by life by that point (as she's obviously had a hard time making a career for herself and is doing some kind of D list cabaret gig annd is living in a 1984 not too far from being Orwellian). SO what I really want, aside from her to have Real Friends, is to find a place for herself to help keep her from becoming so hardened. She's on her way to that right now, which will become obvious if anyone tries to get Romantic, but I want her to find ways to remember that despite how badly she's been hurt etc that there is Good in the universe.
Because she deserved so much better, and I want her to get it, somehow.
back at you re: Joker.
