QUESTIONS MEME

THE QUESTIONS MEME
A first big 'n successful round of apps has concluded and the game is getting off to a roll - since there are always brains to be picked and new pals and acquaintances to be made, how's about we all play a little getting-to-know-you game?
HOW TO PLAY:
• Leave a comment below with your name and the characters who you play.
• Respond to others' comments with questions - they can be about their characters, their current in-game plans or things they'd like to play, their CR, RP in general, their canons and fandoms, or most anything else.
• Answer questions you've received! Keep it short or TL;DR to your heart's content, depending on how much you have or are in the mood to say!
• After each answer you give, ask a question back to the person who answered you. Keep the thread of questioning up for as long as both parties are game!
• Go for it - make friends, make new plans, make anything you like!

I'm...trying to remember if I considered any other options, but I think this was my first one? Tilly here went though a revamp from what she was when I made this account to now as a D&D campaign NPC, but the principle is the same: she's a necromancer who can recruit spirits Valkyrie Profile style, but gets a little too anxious and shy to speak up and be a proper leader. Instead, she'd convey mood and whatnot through music. She talks more with her new background, but it all works out.
Also it's a nod to one of my favorite tracks in Lumines because I'm a dork who likes journal names with multiple meanings.
Okay, real talk here: I'm kind of morbidly curious about DW9. Didn't hear great things at launch, but I heard it's better nowadays. How's it holding up?

Okay, so: DW9 is a very flawed game. I will say that straight up. If you're looking for a compelling combat system with lots of depth, it's honestly a little disappointing on that front. The game basically has two difficulty modes: you can either just run past all of the enemy soldiers and use a grappling hook to get yourself next to the enemy commander and just beat them into oblivion, or everything hits you super hard and you're struggling to do any damage. There's not really an in-between. And the open world is... okay.
But there's some enjoyment to be had there! I actually didn't mind the gameplay once I instituted a few house rules on myself, such as forcing myself to finish side missions but not feeling compelled to do things like capture every base I ran across. And while the stories have some pretty cheesy, poorly done dialogue scenes that really take you out of it, the actual storylines are pretty good and give you a good look into the characters. The DLC stories make it clear they learned from their mistakes, too, as the combat's a lot better in those, and they have a lot more direction. So, I'm actually having fun now that it's been patched and all that.
Do you have any favorite Dynasty Warriors characters yourself, since you seem familiar with the series? Or from any spinoffs?

Zhang He is a delight in both gameplay and just existing, but Jia Chong has to be one of my top favorites. He's creepy, cold, everything you'd see in a villain except he's adamant about playing a supporting role and that's so fascinating to me. I swear this isn't me kissing up but also Sun Jian? I adore Tiger Dad for being so Tiger Rad. The Tiger family is probably the most endearing to me of the main faction leaders, even Quan. He isn't my favorite, but I do love his story and how hard he tries to be as good a leader as Ce and Jian. I also wish I got more of Huang Zhong since he's so much fun while also probably getting the best buildup with the Mt. Dingjun level while also playing one of my favorite tracks in all of 8XL. I know I have a few favorite SW characters but I can't think of them right now and this post might get long if I keep listing all my favorites.
Looking back on it, I'm surprised with how many enjoyable characters this series has. Even if some are one note, they're still fun and I'm impressed.
But since I'm thinking about it, are there any canons or games you think should get the Warriors treatment?
