QUESTIONS MEME

THE QUESTIONS MEME

A first big 'n successful round of apps has concluded and the game is getting off to a roll - since there are always brains to be picked and new pals and acquaintances to be made, how's about we all play a little getting-to-know-you game?

HOW TO PLAY:
• Leave a comment below with your name and the characters who you play.
• Respond to others' comments with questions - they can be about their characters, their current in-game plans or things they'd like to play, their CR, RP in general, their canons and fandoms, or most anything else.
• Answer questions you've received! Keep it short or TL;DR to your heart's content, depending on how much you have or are in the mood to say!
• After each answer you give, ask a question back to the person who answered you. Keep the thread of questioning up for as long as both parties are game!
• Go for it - make friends, make new plans, make anything you like!

The beginning of Brotherhood, up to the first 20 or so episodes, does not represent the manga well at all in my opinion. They hit the same themes and major plot points of the manga, but for some reason Bones decided to mess with the structure of the manga and in doing so, things become redundant or are left out completely. It actually completely leaves out two entire chapters from the beginning of the manga, one of those chapters introducing a minor character who ends up having a larger role to play in the main plot.

After that though, I found Brotherhood to be pretty faithful. There are a few changes here and there that are changed, probably for time and because of the medium difference, but from my rewatch so far, everything other than those episodes I mentioned above are quite good. If you're new to the series as a whole, I also recommend reading the manga if you ever get the chance, mostly to experience the little character moments that are missing from Brotherhood.

I also highly recommend watching the 2003 series. While I don't like as much, it tends to do a lot of scenes better than Brotherhood does (of the ones they share) and explores Ed's character in a lot more detail. Think of Mangahood as a shounen adventure while the 2003 series is a character study of Ed. This series is quite a bit darker than mangahood, so please be aware of that in case it isn't your cup of tea. There's a couple episodes (4 and 10 to be specific) that really aren't very good and you might want to skip, but otherwise, I think it's worth a watch. There's also the movie Conqueror of Shamballa that acts as the wrap-up to the 2003 series you might want to check out too, since the series itself leaves some threads untied.

So, I've only seen up through season 4 or 5 of RvB, so I'm not sure how relevant this question is in regards to the seasons that come after but, favorite characters from Red and Blue team?

Thanks! :D

That is a really helpful answer!

Blood Gulch Reds: Grif, Simmons, Donut

Desert Gulch Reds: Biff

Blood Gulch Blues: Church

Desert Gulch Blues: Temple, Loco

And as a bonus...

Freelancers: Washington, Carolina, Ohio, Idaho

Who are your favourite characters from each version of FMA? Are they the same for each version, or do they differ depending on the version?

I can't decide if I like Grif or Simmons better. Church is always a win.

Mangahood: Alphonse

2003: Lust

What do you like most about playing Temple?

I think what I like best about playing him is how versatile he is. Since his canon is a mix of comedy and drama and he doesn’t have a lot of canon (even though he’s the main villain of s15, that’s also the only season he’s in), it is easy for me to put him into any situation I want him in and have him interact with any character I want him to interact with. Like, there is a lot of room for me to come up with reasons why he would be in the situations I want him in or interact with the characters I want him to interact with, and very few things blocking off routes for me.

(Obviously, there are some things he wouldn’t do but none of them really prevent me from putting him anywhere or having him interact with anyone.)

That’s only what I like best about playing him, not what I like best about him as a character, though. What I like best about him as a character is different.
