I do like that approach. For all I can be very easy, an appreciation for the person makes everything better.

[ He can be very easy. In this place, that is preferable to months of courtship which he has played out with customers of the House of Phoenix.

But he's not at all immune to people at least trying to see him behind the good looks. Who would be? ]

[ He simply chuckles at the admission, freely given and received. So much time in the company of the free spirits of his bloodline's realm have eroded a sheltered disciple's embarrassment over the proclivities of strangers. And while it's not his place to judge, encouraging months of devoted courtship and longing for a heart that can never be theirs is bound to leave casualties in it's wake. Even if those who engaged were aware it was a game, feelings override logic every single day. That's something he'd rather avoid, no matter how charming the siren's song of his company is. So he remains cognizant of the other man's professional take on affection. ]

It's settled, then. How about you decide where we go, since you didn't have much choice last time?

[ It might have been the man's home turf, but that hardly means he would have chosen his place of work to whittle the long hours away, during a holiday no less. In some ways this is Binghe's attempt to make up for playing his own part in that. ]

[ He taps his fan to the corner of his lips. ]

Do you prefer indoors outings or outdoors? The weather will soon turn far more pleasing for walks, too, I believe.

[ Xue Yang really did just 'Unf' at him. Not only is that worth a smirk, but the swift bout of teasing that follows suit. ]

That has to be the weirdest thing you've said to me so far... And that's saying a lot.

[ It might be part of the game, but that doesn't mean he's not going to use this opportunity to enact a little payback for ~~all those Binghe callouts~~ Xue Yang's antics during during the holiday months. ]

[ He manages to neither give a suggestive thrust of his hips nor burst into laughter, which are about the two different reactions he has to actually trying with the noise. ]

[ Excuse him while Binghe pretends, rather badly at that, like he's bothered in the slightest by whatever nonsense Xue Yang's said in the past. As if he doesn't let him get away with (not quite) murder whenever they're together.

Despite his gratitude for Xue Yang's tremendous hip-thrusting restraint he'll gladly take on the job of peppering the conversation with quiet laughter and ribbing. Only of the good-natured variety, full of that undercurrent of warmth that branches even from their more absurd interactions. ]

Hmm, is that what it is? [ Quickly losing sight of the questionnaire in lieu of tormenting him. ] And what's the proper response when someone makes that noise at you?

[ Now he's actually curious, but Xue Yang isn't going to waste too much effort figuring out if there's anything he's said that's qualified for weirder.

He gives a small roll of his eyes, but he's still grinning. ]

[ He's not letting Luo Binghe get out of this that easily. ]

[ So much for ignoring this until it went away. Now he actually has to answer this ridiculous thing Binghe makes a few adjustments, mostly for the sake of his own amusement, before folding it in two and slipping the paper into the fold of Xue Yang's robes. ]

[ Xue Yang takes the paper and reads it over, the edges of his mouth quirking up at certain things. ]

Why would I bother with sneaking when I can walk right in to the same effect?

[ He's well aware that if he actually sneaks in and does anything remotely startling, Luo Binghe could hurt him a lot, very fast.

He finishes reading, then lowers the paper and looks Luo Binghe straight in the eyes. ]

I've told you I have a really good pain tolerance, right?

Looks like I'm going to start barricading my bedroom door at night.

[ It says more than enough when he doesn't so much as suggest putting a permanent barrier such as a lock between them. ]

Mhm. [ Brows lift in question. ] What part of admitting "I bite" sounds like encouragement to you?

[ Hello, pain tolerance. Meet no self control. Those two concepts clashing sounds like a recipe for absolute disaster, and just so much blood. ]

If you're not that attached to your mouth I'm sure there are less painful solutions than getting my teeth involved.

... The biting part. [ It's not that Xue Yang is a masochist, he just gets a power high from things that are supposed to hurt but don't. Totally different. ]

Or are you going to tell me that your teeth are more painful than a sword in the abdomen?

[ ... Not that he finds that arousing, but he's dealt with it easily enough. ]

Keep goading me on and I'll never learn any better. [ Amusement casts a smirk over his lips. ] Or are you trying to turn me into a menace?

[ That's all he needs, for Xue Yang to set the bar for kissing etiquette by nurturing all his terribly inept habits in that department. ]

Tell me you're not getting routinely stabbed here too.

[ Slightly sidetracking from the topic at hand, he's not about to ignore the subject of Xue Yang's frequent injuries once it's brought up. They don't hold a set routine when it comes to crossing paths. Which means if he's adding to the tally of bodily wounds, Binghe would rather be aware than ignorant. ]

I'm not. Just pointing out that it'd be far from the worst injury I've dealt with, and that didn't hurt either.

It's not my problem if you don't learn any better. Biting makes it more interesting for me. Unless you want me to teach you how to kiss better.
