I was once afflicted with the consequences of consuming a love potion. You could say that it sealed my fate for the rest of my life. Though I married another, I did not treat her as she deserved, and thought myself unworthy of love.

A love potion, was it? We didn't have such things where I've come from. Just bad marriages that were far from easily-maintained. While I am sorry to hear that it wasn't ideal... Everyone deserves a chance at love, Sir. Even if you don't quite get it right the first try or two. Don't you still want to love and be loved?

It was. And I did want to be loved, I was loved and did not even understand it. Thus have I regretted it even beyond death. Now I can only attempt to atone for the heartbreak I must have caused Iseult of the White Hands.

You loved another, then, in her stead? Because of that potion. I think, given time, if one truly loves someone else, they would forgive eventually with the knowledge that they still experienced love at all, even if not their own. There is a measure of comfort in that.

I loved them both. I just did not realize that the love I felt for her was truer and purer than the passion that potion had bequeathed on me for my other dear Iseult.
