You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B Your new flat is covered in a sprinkling of feathers here, there, and everywhere! They appear to be coming through the air vents. This seems to be a city-wide problem in all buildings, as many news outlets are informing people to stay alert. They believe the feathers are from the masked seraphim, King Majestas, who attacked the Elaran Amphitheater a few weeks back.

You are advised to destroy the feathers on sight. Prolonged contact with these feathers cause hallucinations and paranoia. You will feel as if winged creatures are always after you, be it one-winged angels or dark-winged ducks. Other side effects include hearing the chanting of voices in an indecipherable language out of this galaxy. These hallucinations may cause headaches, dizziness, or nausea. Thankfully, a bit of moonlacing will heal these symptoms away.

With the Coiled Hearts Festival fast approaching, local fishermen have already begun procuring food across Crystal Beach’s clear waters to meet next month’s demands. Around this time of year, the popularity of octopus dishes dramatically rises. The Lunatians have an annual tradition to prepare flavorful octopus dishes for the romantic season, such as the much-lauded dark chocolate-coated octopus or the mouth-watering octopus braised with red wine.

Everyone is welcome to join this heart-throbbing affair. During the Second and Third months, everyone is encouraged to give your loved ones something special for a long, successful relationship. Friends, family, and new acquaintances are traditionally given a small amount of Demichroma in tiny cute cases, while lovers are given something that reminds the gifter of their homeland.

A Interested in catching your own octopus? Horned taurus octopi very frequently migrate to the shorelines to perform their elaborate mating rituals. It’s easy to find clumps of taurus octopi participating in a vigorous dance, filled with undulations and strange moaning noises that octopi should not be making. You can lure the octopi by either using a special flute which mimics their moans to gather them in heavy droves. It’s ideal to have a partner with you to scoop the octopi quickly into water containers once they’ve become entranced enough.

Play the flute carefully! If the taurus octopi grow too excited by your music, they will squirt white ink. If you are spritzed with the thick substance, you will start either randomly puking or uncontrollably secreting a milky sweet substance from any body part that secretes liquids. Luckily, the high-end boutique Prissy Polyp is nearby in case you need a change of clothes due to any sizable stains. Effects will naturally wear off after an hour.

B Come with a friend and enjoy learning some octopus recipes together. The Crystal Beach Resort has opened a seminar where several professional chefs will be demonstrating and teaching how to cook various dishes of different flavors and ingredients guaranteed to impress your date, and taste-testing is free!

One dish makes use of horned taurus octopi skin as the star ingredient, renowned for its irresistibly delectable scent. The chefs explain the palatable skin is a potent ingredient in various love potions and aphrodisiacs, so add or mix them to your dishes in moderation! The effects have a significant delay, so you may feel fine for a while, but when it hits, it hits hard. You will become enamored with every little thing — hey, you just met them and this is crazy — but that person’s smile, the sound of their voice, or the way they say your name will make you unable to resist the urge to shower them with your affection.

Level 2, Moonlight Medical Center | top

“Help Wanted” posters can be found on virtual forums and announcement boards across Level 1 to 3. The Moonlight Medical Center has put out a call for volunteers due to a recent shortage of medical staff. The work involves filling in for overworked nurses, performing tasks such as feeding patients their meals, wiping away their sweat, changing their clothes, encouraging their spirits, and so on. Any volunteers may directly walk-in at the hospital. You will be provided a nurse uniform and any necessary equipment while on the job.

The shortage has resulted from the hospital recently taking in a severe number of patients from a nearby small village to the west of Lunatia, Port Sylvel, a known shipping and freight destination. The number of patients worryingly keeps on rising by the day and will soon fill all available rooms.

A Some of the patients are experiencing varying degrees of paralysis. The worst cases have crystallizing parts of their body. The hospital staff will stress that you should be careful around patients with crystallized limbs. Patients like these have a history of aggressively biting anyone who comes close hard enough to draw blood. Those bitten will exhibit similar symptoms as the victims, including crystallization on their bodies, and experience a steady drop in Chroma. An uncomfortable heaviness will cause you unable to move without the aid of others as well as an uncontrollable urge to aggressively bite someone.

While affected Moonblessed can cure it by moonlacing, the Prismals can only be cured by a gluteal inoculation the Lunar Scientia has recently managed to develop. The sick and beleaguered will probably hate you less if you aren’t the one trying to stabbing them with injections in the hindquarters.

B Aside from nursing duties, other available tasks to be completed include making coffee for fellow nurses and doctors, delivering flowers to patients, and general housekeeping. Specifically, disinfecting medical equipment, tidying up rooms, and cleaning the spaces around the hospital. As a result of the current situation, many crystal shards can be found decorating multiple surfaces, such as floors, walls, toilet seats, and so on. These will have to be swept away!

However, as your work day progresses, some of the shards can be seen suddenly moving on their own. These crawling shards will start clustering together to turn into elaborate, floating monolithic formations that will then begin attacking anyone nearby. Their main ability includes shooting diamond spears to impale any unfortunate victims in their line of sight. In the midst of the chaos, nurses and doctors will beg the Moonblessed to please protect the sick and wounded. The crystal formations can be destroyed by any method, though because of their incredibly sturdy composition, they require multiple hits before they shatter into dust.

Oh. Wangji sees you deflecting, brother. He takes a moment to pour himself a cup of tea, as well, and peers into the glass. His silence seems to say how little control they have over what happens here.

“This place is strange, xiongzhang.” Not just because of the high-rise buildings, the constant noise, and artificial lights. It’s the control of the moons and the other odd events that seem to happen on a regular basis. But more pressing than that…

Wangji sets his cup aside and fixes a steady gaze on Xichen.

“What do you last remember?” Before showing up here.

"Strange is an understatement from what I've seen so far." It's quiet, his fingers still curled around the tea cup, gaze drifting back to Wangji at the next question.

"...I was in seclusion still, Wangji. Although Sizhui has told me that people here come from different points in our history so perhaps I should be asking you the same question." Because even if he did have Wei Wuxian here, that didn't mean he knew everything.

Young mistress Jiang. The words make her heart flutter oddly and she feels inexplicably embarrassed and pleased—it’s the first time someone’s actually addressed her like that and she smiles lightly.

“No, not from here. I’m from a place called Japan—likely it’s an island across the sea from where you live.” Assuming the geography remains roughly the same between their worlds and all. “Cultivation and things like that aren’t....widespread where I’m from.”

Shen pauses a moment but then figures it doesn’t hurt to keep talking about herself a little, if it helps take some of the focus off his own anxieties and the like. “Only a very few, rare people can actually see or hear spirits, and even fewer can do both, like I can. The majority have no spiritual power and at best tend not to believe those that do.” At worst it’s derision and scorn. “I had to learn mostly on my own. The sect I would’ve belonged to was all but wiped out by those that were afraid of what they could do.”

Yuri trails off and then glances to him, smiling softly, and waves her hand as if to dismiss the sad memories. “But, it’s different here, I’ve been very lucky to meet so many of you who can actually believe me and help me. I’m very grateful, and it’s been... fun.” Fun and a little crazy, but mostly she’s happy and that’s what matters, right?

Well, I wouldn't say that I wasn't able to get attached to anyone, but there were really only a few people that I knew who were in the same position as I was.

"I know Japan!" He's excited to know something! Something he can admit to knowing, anyway. "I haven't been there, but I have some beautiful artworks and fans from Japan. Not with me, of course."

He pouts, looking down, saddened to be away from his private library and his beautiful collections. His birds. At least he knows that his clan will take very good care of his birds while he's away. He's made sure that his court is filled with people who are indulgent toward him, with one or two who are capable of actually running things so that the bureaucracy doesn't collapse. The Nie Sect may have lost most of its respectable standing, but hey, it hasn't burned down and his people get fed.

"It is good you found the Jiang Sect here! I'm glad to meet you." Oh no, it's happening. HuaiSang has decided you're friends now. You're gonna be stuck with him.

Wangji nods, relieved. It seems as if they’re from a similar time after Jing Guangyao’s deeds were exposed. His relief is short-lived as he recalls how utterly broken the whole affair left his brother. When his other brother had arrived, he too was in seclusion. It was Wangji’s daily visits that ensured he had enough chroma to survive.

“I remember your seclusion.” That should say enough. No sense in naming the one who hurt Xichen so badly. Wangji is sure that he is not far from Xichen’s thoughts.

That has his shoulders relaxing slightly, almost imperceptibly because it does mean he doesn't have to explain things to Wangji. Still, this new place brings a different set of problems.

"....Sizhui explained the nature of this place and it seems my seclusion may not be the same option as it was at home." Not if he wants to maintain any sort of strength or power and while he'd rather avoid the world, losing his abilities would help nothing.

[ This guy. This guy is persistent. It's flattering and overwhelming; Fjord is sure there are far more easy people for Jim to sink his teeth into, mildly bewildered as to why he's being chased. The hand-holding is alright but he inwardly balks at the new closeness, staying still for a long moment where he considers the appeal of the man. ]

There's a club called Tourmaline, my friend Fish performs there almost every night. If you can find it once you're settled in and you're still interested at the time, you might see me there too.

[ He knocks back his whiskey, patting Jim's hand before slipping his free. The stool screeches as he stands, gathering up his device, and he offers Jim a handshake. ]

[ The way Fjord pulls away is just sudden enough to surprise Jim, though he does nothing to keep the contact going. He lets the hand slip from his, eyes widening slightly as he looks back to Fjord, then he chuckles. ]

[ And here he thought it was going well. Oh, it's fine. Jim's not used to being turned down, but it's not a first for him either. And besides, he could use having friends around here just as much. ]

You'll see me there. Count on it. [ Taking Fjord's hand, he gives it a brief shake then lets go. ] Until then.

"If you have the luxury of choosing. Since you hate me so much, maybe I'll keep helping you just to annoy you." And it would be following Xiao Xingchen's orders, meaning it was another win-win for him. Wei Wuxian was one of the few people that Xue Yang actually respected, after all, so helping him out was more palatable than most others.

The next patient... well. He could be a problem. Rochelle managed to survive this long, but she was still small and fairly light. She's been pushed, shoved, and thrown around enough to know that she won't overpower this guy by any means.

Which is why she sticks to a plan that served her well against infected riot police in body armor back in New Orleans - spin 'em around and shoot them in the back.

Not LITERALLY, of course. As the larger man lunges for her, she pushes both hands out and shoves him hard in the chest. She had enough leverage to turn him backwards and let him stumble, which is when she goes for the kill.

Well, stab. In the ass.

She huffs and makes a face.]

Shit, I can't remember what's worse now. Bare ass or bare infected ass.

[Moran is smiling a little too knowingly. He's not unaware of the effect he can have on people on a normal day - he simply chooses to ignore it as irrelevant most of the time. But as a fox, he loves to play with it. Flustering people is so much fun.

... To share Chroma? You can feel it, right? The Moonlacing. During the moon, I burn through a lot more Chroma than usual so I need more.

HuaiSang's wandering has not yet ceased. Though he is comforted by having found some of his friends here, and he spends as much time as possible in the homes of others so that he won't have to go back to his own empty apartment, he remains restless. Sorrow that he cannot name goads at him, making him unable to endure even the company of his best-loved friends for more than an hour at a time before he's roaming again.

It's just as well that there are so many things to see here. HuaiSang remains shy around strangers and won't enter most of the stores, but he wants very much to learn more about the other Moonblessed and to make friends.

When he sees the beautiful, elegant man in such breathtaking robes, HuaiSang cannot help but stare. He's the personification of everything that HuaiSang admires and wants to be. Tall, fashionable, composed.

Fluttering his fan shyly as he tries to untie his tongue or unfreeze his limbs, HuaiSang just stares at him, stunned, until the beautiful man starts walking over to him.

HuaiSang's eyes go wide and he ducks behind his fan, as if that will hide him in the slightest. Immediately repenting of his rudeness, he shuts the fan and makes himself put it behind his back, but the man is still coming over and HuaiSang is panicking.

The stranger bows politely to him, so HuaiSang quickly brings his hands up to do the same. In the process, he loses his grip on his fan. Carried forward by the momentum, it strikes Runyu lightly in the center of his chest.

"If I have to help anyway, it might as well be someone who gets pissed off when I do it. If I have to be too nice, I might just throw up in return."

It was almost a good argument for him even helping Song Lan, but Xue Yang hated him most of all. Not even the satisfaction would be worth it.

"Have to help?" Now that was curious. Please explain, whatever could make Xue Yang help anyone but himself.

Even if they did exist at home, I doubt they'd ever have gotten involved in a life like mine. I hope us average people don't have too bad a time.

At least you had somebody. It's good to be with a group who are in the same place you are. Easier with a band than solo, you could say.
