I'm really only familiar with Zero and Stay Night, but of those I love Rider (F/Z), Lancer (F/SN), and of course I have a massive weakness for Kirei Kotomine, what do you expect???

What kind of character development are you hoping to get for your characters in Prisma?

Outer's been working on being more assertive and Inner's been working on caring about more people besides Outer and more things besides fighting, and those are great and I def. want to keep going in that direction. Grimm... I honestly don't know with Grimm he can just keep adopting all these troubled teens and I'll figure out development when we get there

I tried getting into Extra and it was just. So much. I also tried getting into FGO but I really didn't like the gameplay and also my phone at the time had like no space so I had to delete it lmao. At the moment I don't have plans on getting into any other Fates!

Have you considered apping any other characters to this game or are you happy with the two (do Inner and Outer count as separate characters??) you have?

Hubert: I am a huge fan of "hey let's take this uptight character who thrives on control and throw them in a situation where they have no control and also now he's gotta deal with being repressed" it's hilarious. Hubert is here because I find it funny.
Ryuunosuke: Dal enticed me with promises of horrible conversations about god and also Iris exists and how was I supposed to not go for it. I blame everyone but myself.
Yeager: It was a mix of "dear god I need a social character who doesn't come with an opt-out post" and "when do I ever not want to play Yeager" and so here he is!! Yeager also is coming from a canon point I really want to explore more so there's that too!!

I'm admittedly extremely blind to Fate, but I do know that Ryuunosuke is like... only 10 minutes or so into the canon of Fate/Zero or something, right? Do you think you'll ever canon update him further, or do you have a specific goal in mind for bringing him into the game at this canon point?

He's like. Two minutes in from the anime lmao....... The light novels actually give him an entire section to explain Who This Rando Is, but yeah he's from very early on!! I am absolutely considering canon updating him at some point - the reason why I took him from so early is because he'll actually sit better now than he would at any other point, lmao! Any later and he'd want to return home immediately and would have difficulties chilling and uh. Taking him from the end is not exactly an option........ (unsure)

lol fair enough!! I kind of had the same reason for picking Danny at his canon point because if he was midcanon he absolutely would be losing his shit even further than he already is in this game some days...

if I wanted to read the light novels, where should I look for them? (or should i try watching the anime first and then read the light novels?)

I would definitely suggest the anime first! The light novels are very....... they're kind of hard to read in that they're translated very literally so it is kind of a pain to read through them. The only real difference (as far as Ryuunosuke is concerned) is a slight variation on a scene involving Rin. I choose to take him from the light novels because they give more info about Ryuunosuke! But his characterization and mannerisms in the anime are perfect, so you aren't missing out on anything for him by watching it!!

F/Z is fun, but Ryuunosuke is very much a minor villain lmao!!! Do not expect him to be here for long!!!!!!!!

I... don't think I can, since Danny's canon point is That Scene with Gray lmao. Unless the creators pull a fast one on me and reveal he's alive or something in the manga adaption.......

Fate/Zero's on Crunchy last I checked... should I watch DEEN/STAY NIGHT Fate/Stay Night first before watching Zero though?

OH LMAO MY BAD I thought he was from earlier, somehow!! I'm legit not sure how I thought that, whoops???

I watched Zero first and I was fine, but a lot of the world mechanics and things are explained better in Stay Night. SN also has The Important Characters that Zero is referencing quite a bit (like Rin, who is a kid in Zero). So while SN might make Zero a bit easier to understand, I wouldn't say it's necessary at all! Fate/ is very confusing and no one knows how it works.

lol yeah I've... seen the memes about fate being a confusing series to try to get into...

switching gears for a bit, I'm also hilariously canon blind to... tales and fire emblem, so i'm curious to know if you think someone should start with the ones you're playing your characters from, or if you think someone should play a different game first if they want to try to get into these franchises?

OH BOY, TALES AND FIRE EMBLEMS.....

Both series have games that are entirely disconnected from each other! Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Symphonia don't have much in common outside of a few reoccurring minor things, for example! There are some games that take place in the same world (Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia 2, Xillia and Xillia 2, Zestiria and Berseria) but otherwise they're mostly their own separate worlds with unique characters and stories. Fire Emblem is pretty much the same way, though there are a few that take place in the same world!

For Tales, you can really pick up any of the games and find them fun. Vesperia is kind of a mess on the story front (it has three very distinctive arcs that do not fit together nearly as well as the writers probably wanted it to) but the characters are great and the gameplay is very fun! Vesperia is one that is entirely separate, it doesn't have any other games tied to it. Berseria is the most recent and while I would suggest it for the gameplay/story/characters, it is connected to Zestiria, so playing Zestiria would definitely fill in the gaps. Abyss is very good as well, but the gameplay's a bit dated. I honestly love almost all the Tales games I've played!!! Berseria and Vesperia are probably easiest to play since they're on Steam!

Fire Emblem is very similar - Three Houses is the newest game and the one a lot of people are playing as their first FE and that's definitely a good decision! Story-wise, it's really good and the characters are all great as well! I would also suggest Awakening if you want to play a more traditional FE, though it is an older game. I do nothing but drag Fates but I do genuinely love it, it's just an absolute mess and definitely not worth all the money it would take to buy all three routes lmao.

HMM, TRICKY... I think I'm going to go with Crimson Flower, although I haven't yet finished Verdant Wind and I suspect that one may be my favorite overall once I'm done with it lmao. CF is fun, I'm just mad that it's so short!!

I'd say mine's pretty tricky, too... Because the only one I've completed was Verdant Wind. Silver Snow was next and still not finished/at time skip yet... Blue Lions I started just to marry Yuri there and less for the route BUT WILL FINISH IT TOO SOON. and still have yet to start CF (I thought I was doing it.. .until someone on plurk told me I was now in church route lol).

but despite that, I feel like Golden Deers will have my heart even when I'm caught up. hah.

SO. we know your boy is a burning trashfire BUT. Do you have any ships you'd consider for Ryuu and Hubert, canon or RP (or give a type of person you think they MIGHT work with?)

My first attempt at CF ended with me on Silver Snow as well SO I FEEL YOU... (Hubert was my dancer in that run. It was hilariously painful.)

Verdant Wind seems real good, so good choice!!

I feel like this is a very cursed question for Ryuunosuke, lmao. I do ship him with Caster in canon, and he was in an amazing ship with Shuu Tsukiyama from Tokyo Ghoul in a couple of other games. Ryuunosuke works well with equally energetic evil people who don't see the world in the same way as most people; others who feel like outcasts and are down for murder are the ideal, but I do think it's possible to get him to chill out a bit and actually try to understand people. I mean there's no fixing the love of murder, but that's...... fine....... (unsure)

Thankfully, Hubert is much more sane. I actually ship Hubert with pretty much all of his support options + quite a few other characters in FE3H just because I think they'd be fascinating together. Ultimately what Hubert needs is patience and support, and someone who is trustworthy, of course!! I think he'd be fascinating to ship with characters who have a similar mindset re: giving their all for someone else's goals, but that isn't a requirement! Hubert's one of those characters who can actually work surprisingly well with a lot of different personality types.

I'm curious about your ships for your boys as well! Which ones do you have for them in canon, and what sorts of dynamics do you think would be fun to explore with them?

This kind kinda vague but do you have any headcanons for Yeager? If there are too many, your top favorite(s) is (are?!) fine!

curious because I've played Saleh from ToR in the past and I had to rely a lot on the tiniest pieces of (sometimes semi-canon) backstory and headcanons because he had pretty much no background, haha

You feel me!! Yeager's one of those characters that has the barest hints of a backstory but nothing actually concrete, so that means I get to make up all sorts of headcanon!!! Most of it is never actually relevant and only there if I absolutely need it, but I like coming up with things to explain the gaps and otherwise make sense of things.

I think my favorite headcanon is that Yeager was more or less kicked out of Dahngrest after pissing the Don off entirely too many times. This is why the Manor of the Wicked is so far out of the way, the Don basically said "you can't run your guild in Dahngrest" and so Yeager had to build a new base....... I'm not saying Regaey was in direct response to that, but also: that's an absolutely hilarious idea.
