Roxas is learning much about the world and Prisma. But still finds it difficult to initiate contact beyond handholding unless someone is in distress. And since he uses magic constantly, he's wiping himself out. Basically, he has not had the opportunity to find many people he's comfortable enough to initiate physical contact with. Since he's generally not very tactile as a rule.
