THE QUESTIONS MEME
HOW TO PLAY:
• Leave a comment below with your name and the characters who you play.
• Respond to others' comments with questions - they can be about their characters, their current in-game plans or things they'd like to play, their CR, RP in general, their canons and fandoms, or most anything else.
• Answer questions you've received! Keep it short or TL;DR to your heart's content, depending on how much you have or are in the mood to say!
• After each answer you give, ask a question back to the person who answered you. Keep the thread of questioning up for as long as both parties are game!
• Go for it - make friends, make new plans, make anything you like!

Hmm, strong characters probably pull me in more than anything else! Strong stories, too, but the characters often drive the story. As for genres, I'm partial to horror and psychological drama, scifi, and high fantasy, but I'm willing to go for anything. I'm less fond of straight up fluff/slice of life themes or modern settings. I'm not sure if there's a character "type" I'm most drawn toward, but I do enjoy bad boy characters who are secretly much softer deep down. Or very emotional characters. Itachi's kind of different from my usual, because he's much more reticent, and I tend to prefer fiery and combative personalities. But he's rewarding once he does form connections.
Same question for you!

Rec me some good sci-fi that you think is underappreciated or less known!

Hmm, my personal favorite author of sci-fi is Ted Chiang! His ability to mix literate science and philosophical questions with relationships and humanity is unparalleled, plus he's contemporary. He's behind the story of the movie Arrival, if you've ever seen that. (Highly recommend if you haven't watched.) But if anime is more your route, the first thing that comes to my mind as lesser known is the movie Blame! just for a casual watch. I think it has a manga that's supposed to be even better. I'd recommend Akira too, even though that's highly appreciated and you've probably seen it haha. Just a must-see.

I am not familiar with Ten Chiang, but I have heard of Arrival, which I keep meaning to watch. As for Blame!, iirc that's by the same author behind Knights of Sidonia, one of my favorite series ever. I keep meaning to read, but I've been lazy.

Haha yeah I'm pretty lazy when it comes to reading stuff vs watching it. Definitely give Arrival or the Blame! movie a shot, they're pretty quick and enjoyable.
