Actually sit down and play so many of these. Also you gave me the key to 5 but I have yet to install it on my desktop. Do you know off hand if it's fairly easy to play keyboard and mouse? I don't have a controller that works with it and that's been my past experience with RE games.

I'm still of the "for a new generation" mindset on remakes but I get that feeling, too, if that's the sort of friction that's been happening between the different departments. Like I'm fairly certain SotC/ICO were all done with the approval of the original Team ICO? But I also don't follow much of what's going on behind the scenes myself, to the point where a 3 remake actually surprised me lol. But I'm also very live and let live cause companies are gonna do what makes them money at the end of the day and I'm easily entertained whompwhomp

Yeah I have a few old GW doujins with similar soft coloring. The art wasn't always the best but they still made it look pretty.

Yeah, unfortunately it was confirmed by Capcom. I know they have former Plat people in the company that's doing it and so at least it'll hopefully be dumb but hhghghrhg. I think they should've been more focused on the storytelling than money. Mostly, the remake issues I have are fueled by the fact RE.net had a fully international scoped retrospective commentary + questionaire before 7 came out and they ignored everything on it (it was published as an Anniversary Mook book in Japan) that included all the data and ideas in it and particularly inspired stories not just from celebrities of why the series as-is was important to them. They ignored literally everything in it and instead are listening to the loud people on social media, which bothers me a lot. Capcom behind the scenes is a huge shitshow, esp if yon know anyone who worked for them (I knew someone specifically from Blue Castle, which was axed after DR4) and they're just... hgghghgh. Capcom is something Special.

I feel you. I don't have a ton of old stuff and was never into animus so it's mostly RE for me. I have some older FF ones but I think I got rid of them in the move and just saved newer Tifa/Aerith stuff...

Yeah, definitely. Much like Konami they've done some great Pachislot games (with gorgeous new animation in them and stories). As a collector I own a lot of merch for it and it's p wild how much energy, effort, and money they put into the quality of it whether it's chair cushions or phone cases. Sad, too, ofc :(

I'm working (from home obv) rn and about to be off in an hour but I can set it up after I nap for a bit. I need to see how 5 and 6 run on this computer. It's a pretty powerful desktop for it's age but said age is starting to show so I'm not always sure what will go and what won't.

Mine's a gaming laptop from 2009 and I can run RE5/6 on max so if it's a bit newer I imagine you'll be fine. I'll grab it after I eat and send it your way (I'm sunset flip#7359 so expect the message from there; I accidentally left the chatroom when I was leaving several old RP discord servers in effort to clean things up whoops).

OH GOOD. lol. My laptop is newer than the desktop but it's also physically falling apart and likes to hit me with scan lines and flickering whenever I try to play anything intense. I used it for Guild Wars 2 for aaaaaages but even that's started to not work. The desktop still runs it beautifully though so I'm gonna guess it's good for RE then.

That's always a delight. I'm running NVIDIA GEForce GTX 860M if it helps but I know graphics cards are designed to be as difficult to navigate and understand as possible. But you should be fine, especially since RE6 still runs on the 2013 engine and doesn't have any anti-theft software like the remakes do to prevent usage on multiple computers.

That's a fair enough reason to play any game. My stress game is Stardew Valley, usually! But yeah 6 surprisingly runs lower than you'd expect for the quality of graphics (especially if you do windowed). I'm 33 so I feel u. I've been into RE since I RE1 PSX came out so I've thankfully never dealt with that, but I do have a brother that stole all my games up until maybe five? years ago and would leave the cases behind and it's Suffering.

(Tbh I've always done the pay-it-forward and a lot of RE people I meet on Steam tend to give 5/6 for free to people!)

I've had some insomnia issues but my brain is melty despite being up and I can't make myself force poor tags out and end up mortified the next day :')
