I see... Two very different worlds, then. Pity... But yes, it's complicated. For a long time, there was a collective preference to stay separate. It wasn't illegal or anything. Humans can come to Makai — heh, they may not survive, but not because of the barrier. Youkai can go to Ningenkai — although why would we want to...? And until recently that's worked out pretty well for my liking.

[ A slight hmph. Shishiwakamaru may have indirectly helped to enact this new government in Makai, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a fan. If Kurama hadn't dragged Suzuki into it, and Suzuki hadn't dragged Shishi into it, he would have preferred to stay neutral. ]

However, very recently the barrier has been removed. Makai is "under new management," so to speak, and the new king has decided he wants an open and peaceful alliance with the humans now — open borders, cultural exchange, whatnot... I've no intention of moving to Ningenkai, though. You couldn't pay me enough money to go, ha!
