You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

 A  Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

▶ You’re as Cold as Ice

Summer strikes Lunatia with record high temperatures as the city is wracked by an unnatural heatwave. Residents will feel the burn the moment they head outdoors, kissing their skin pink as it drenches them in sweat. For a hot and sticky day like this, it's the perfect time to head to Crystal Beach for a refreshing dip in the water. All sorts of new stands have popped up by the shore, selling icy treats and frozen cocktails.

The morning news recommends befriending those blessed by Cordis, who can keep people cool with their magic touch. They also warn of overheating machinery and electronics! Establishments and residences may end up dealing with broken air-modulating units if they use them too much.

Having cleared their names, Suzaku and Kaya of former *BTSB fame have decided to reform as a rock band duo called The Nine Tails after leaving their boyband roots. They will be performing their most chill new summer jam, “Fox Girl Summer,” while incorporating Cordis magic of their own to keep the listeners feeling cool and refreshed.

 B  Those listening to Kaya and Suzaku’s summer anthem might find their beats too chill to relax and party to. And by that, we mean literally. Ice may start to form around the limbs of happy local beachgoers, filling them with unfortunate shivers that will send them running into the arms of another Prismal to thaw. Even more troubling is that some portions of the oceanfront may also start to freeze, trapping some unsuspecting swimmers inside and leaving them in need of rescue. If anyone goes unnoticed, a Prismal lifeguard will be quick to rescue them.

In a panic, Kaya winks at Suzaku, who reassures his worried partner and ends their performance by summoning a mighty phoenix above the stage. Of course, it is only an illusion for the audience as Kaya thaws the partygoers and the ocean with his magic. Suzaku might have gotten carried away with their debut...






▶ Boom, Badoom, Boom, You Got that Super Bass

The heated beach waters have brought a large onslaught of aggressive super bass close to the shore. Needless to say, the boys with the booming system were not ready for the sudden and alarming increase in population of this particular fish. In response, the beach committee is hosting a fishing competition to see who can catch the largest super bass. They will be providing extremely durable fishing gear and sufficient bait to all worthy competitors, so come to the Crystal Pier with your best fishing know-how and try and break a record or two!

Due to the competition, job openings for lifeguards have become available. Their main task is to keep an eye on participants and the audience. They should be ready to pull them out in case they have trouble swimming back to the pier. Lifeguards will be provided official beach committee high-tech swimsuits (in the form of tankinis and speedos of your choice) that enhance their performance by allowing them to swim faster and breathe more easily underwater. In the dark ocean depths, they glow with patterns easily recognizable to the Prismal eye. They also accentuate the Moonblesseds’ assets very nicely.

 C  Although they are no different from sea bass in appearance, super bass are known for their monstrous strength and penchant for mischief. They like to fly in the air and slap whoever tries to catch them and their fellow fish with their tail fins. You think you like them better when they dolo? Think again. These fish will purposely grab a hold of something eye-catching such as rainbow-colored sea pearl or other treasures from the ocean and pull the unsuspecting fishers into the watery depths.

07/08 - 07/23 | City of Amegahara | top

The city of Amegahara is in preparation for the annual Vulpus Astra Celebration which is coming up in a few weeks. This year is special as the foxes of Amegahara have never celebrated this occasion with the dragons of Lyestellus, making it the first time all three cities in the alliance will be celebrating together. This is all thanks to the Moonblessed, who not only healed their lands but also brought the Prismals closer.

And so for this special year, the upcoming event promises to be an even larger and more extravagant affair. In order to address the extremely high demand for traditional dress and other materials needed for the celebration, many job openings become available in Amegahara. Among these are tailors, glassblowers, florists, and dancers.

 D  The tailors will be sewing traditional clothes, such as lovely-patterned yukata, kimono, haori, and obi. Glassblowers will create pearl glass plates, cups, and trinkets such as hair accessories and festive souvenirs. Florists will be heading to work at Inari Highway’s greenhouses, caring for flowers and putting together flower crowns, colorful bouquets, and floral arrangements to use for street and interior decorations. It is encouraged to make use of pearl glass vases!

Lastly, dancers will be auditioning for a group of strict Amegaharan foxes who will not shy away from hurling insults if you underperform. The traditional Amegaharan dance features many layers of intricate fan work that is difficult to master, or dancers can choose to take part in the more uproarious Amegaharan drum dance. Be prepared for long and grueling rehearsals after passing auditions, where you will be forced to partner up with one another to bend each other’s bodies as flexibly as it could then dance until every single person in the room has the movements and timings memorized perfectly. Moonlacing will keep one another from collapsing in exhaustion, but your bruised ego may require more tender care.

[Ridiculous was one word coming to the ninja robots mind as he had stood with a bunch of humans and listened to what they were told was the "truth" of the situation. It was only because he had orders from before he got here that Shadow Man wasn't making a fuss.

That and having come from space, this was just some strange change of pace.

ANYWAY, now it was the whole find a place to stay which he is not equipped to do. So anyone within the hallways of the starter apartment buildings will totally notice the awkward ninja loitering about.]

[He may not sweat, god bless being a robot, but it's not like Shadow Man is immune to the heat. He can be found, sticking out like a sore thumb, at Crystal Beach like many other Moonblessed.

Maybe he's coughed up some Chroma for a cold item which he is simply holding against his frame, which is kind of messy, or perhaps he's bumped into a Cordis to which he apologizes. Or someone else while trying to be in the water but not too much in the water. The sad plight of a robot in a heatwave, come laugh at him or something.]

[ Said awkward ninja bot had momentarily caught the blond's eye as he wrapped up another delivery. With his arms crossed, Cloud was found loitering as well, albeit in the hallway as he waits for a notif to crop up on his device for his next client. If he didn't get a message back in the next five or so minutes, he'd get a move on. Besides, this gives him ample time to sort his thoughts. The upcoming Iris cycle was going to be...challenging.

So he'd best make good use of his time above ground now before the mission takes off. Shadow Man passes him by a couple of times now, enough times that he cracks an eye open to assess him proper. Hm... Definitely not your average Moonblessed.

[ Spain was excited to return, to say the least. He was hopeful that his friends were still here and that he wouldn’t be alone, but Spain felt that he could still do well if he was alone. Though he wasn’t too sure about the heat. After all, it’s hot enough at his home during the summer. He would like this unofficial vacation to not be someplace hot thank you very much.

But at least there’s a variety of options to cool everyone down. He’s tried the popsicles and now he’s got a couple of the cocktails in hand. He’s taking a sip from one and if he sees you around him, he’ll smile and hand you the one he hasn’t drunk from yet. ]

Oh! You should try this! I bet it’ll be good for cooling you down!

That Super Bass;

[ Put on a swimsuit? Don’t mind if he does! His home has the best beaches in the world after all (the rest of the Mediterrarean can kiss his assets). He wasn’t prepared for the heat wave and didn’t have a swimsuit prepared. But getting the free one wasn’t too bad, all he had to do was be a lifeguard. Spain has on a red speedo and he’s lounging around the beach, keeping a hard lookout in the water, ready to dive into action if necessary.

It’s worth noting that Spain has some… quality assets. ]

It’s such a nice day, I’d really hate it if someone started to drown and needed to be rescued.

[Opening the door to what appeared to be an empty apartment (or your own, if you forgot to lock the door while no one was home) reveals a strange sight. There's a girl laying on the floor in the middle of the room, a blindfold tied over her eyes, looking pensive. She turns and looks up at whoever has walked in -- can she see through the blindfold? Or did the sound of the door tip her off? Either way, she stays put on the floor.]

Oh, my apologies. Was this one occupied after all? They're rather difficult for me to tell them apart, so I thought it best to wait and see if anyone was going to return here.

...how long do you suppose this will take to thaw?

[Poor Cheyenne. She just wanted to enjoy walking through the shore?? And now she's frozen to the beach, the ice having solidified after a wave hit and reached her knees. She's taking it pretty well, despite the ice on her bare skin, but certainly seems troubled by it all. The way she's teetering gives off the impression she's struggling to stay upright -- but any attempts to grab hold of her may be met with an odd reaction.]


3 | Mission Impossible | OTA**
[A rather tense situation is unfolding on the pier. A girl was knocked into the water, and quickly sunk to the bottom. A nearby lifeguard jumped in to save her-- but something happened. The moment he grabbed a hold of her, he began to struggle -- frantically clawing his way back to surface, until a fellow lifeguard pulled him out. He looked as though he were in the midst of a panic attack, babbling wildly between tears. A second lifeguard attempts to save the girl, but meets a near-identical fate. And the clock is ticking.]

["She's got some kind of power-- you! Can you pull her up without touching her? It sounds impossible, but... there's gotta be some way."]

[Of course, little do they know, Cheyenne is fine... sorta. She technically can't die, but drowning is still unpleasant, and she'll start crystallizing down there if she isn't pulled up quick. But how do you rescue someone you can't touch?]

[Cheyenne is standing by a rack of kimono available to try on, and has her hands on a rather fancy one. It's a deep red color, fading to white, with small autumn leaves on branches embroidered into the fabric. The latter point being the reason she likes it, her fingers drawing over the design.]

The texture is much more interesting than the ones around it... these are leaves, yes?

1. Welcome to the Jungle

[Sypha shuts the door to her empty apartment behind her, escaping the nighttime buzz of the city and finally free from the watchful eyes of the Prismals. It's the first moment of quiet she's had in some time, so she takes it in, breathes in the new air, and sighs, slumping exhausted against the floor. She's never been one to shy away from a new adventure, and Lunatia was dazzling beyond her wildest imagination, but she's too tired to appreciate any of it. The past few days have been a torrent of chaos and excitement, and she was so focused on surviving that the absence of danger, mundanity, anything familiar feels hollow. She's in a strange new place, alone, numb, separated from her friends and family, and she's in a house. Her house. She's got a house now?

If God is still scheming away in this neon sky, she thinks, he must really have it out for her.

Before she can sulk for too long, though, the telltale ache of hunger in her gut needs to be addressed. Now's as good a time as any to learn the lay of the land, she supposes, and she's used to meeting new people in unfamiliar places. Cautious as she is, she'd rather start now than later.

So she pushes herself off the floor of her apartment, walks back out into the noise, and goes to knock on a neighbor's door. Or maybe she runs into you on her way there. Either way, she's going to go up and introduce herself.]

Excuse me! I hate to barge up to you late in the evening like this, but I was wondering if there was a good place around here to find something to eat.

2. Cold as Ice

[One minute she's lying on the beach, reading a library book and taking in the lull of the ocean. The next, she hears someone scream and looks up to see people stranded in a rapidly growing frozen ocean. Including, presumably, you. Sypha's eyes go wide with shock and excitement.

She sets down her book, pulls the ribbon of her halter top taut, and breaks out into a run across the scorching beach. As she feels seafoam at the edge of the tide pulling back in across her sandals, she brings her arms across her chest, pulling magic into focus between her fingertips, and snaps them out in front of her. An sheet of ice forms beneath her feet, stretching out over the sea to meet you, and she leans down to keep her balance as she skates ahead to whoever's in the unfortunate position of needing rescue.

Once she approaches you, she skids against the ice and drifts to a stop, reaching out her hand.]

01. - Residential Blues
[So this is how it is to be, then. She gets shuffled around like she's just one of the pack. As someone who has become all too familiar with calling her own shots and making her own decisions, being escorted to her apartment door by force isn't exactly her idea of a good time. Implying that Sylvanas has any concept of what 'good time' might entail.

No familiar faces. No screeching in her ear about her ideals. But certainly no Azeroth either.]

This infernal contraption is capable of making everything else except sending me back from where I came.

[Displeasure drips from her tone easily, as if she's never once experienced anything other than it. Not that it stops her from toying with the piece of technology on the door. It's like nothing she's seen before. A shame it can't be more useful.

Maybe help a Warchief out. Not that she'll ask for help. And not that she wants it.]

02. - How Hot is It?
I am not wearing that.

[Is precisely what she says when she's found on the beach. A local Prismal—a few of them, actually—has attempted to persuade her into something a little more comfortable as opposed to the impressively intimidating armoured garb she's arrived in. Unsurprisingly, Sylvanas has been largely unmovable in that regard and that doesn't seem likely to change at any time in the near future.

They eventually give up, but the approaching footsteps of anyone else within her earshot will be met with her inevitable ire. Forgive the Banshee Queen her ways. (Or don't.)]

I said it already. I will not repeat myself. Away with you now and leave me be.

03. - Don't Worry; Be Happy
[A fishing sport, is it.]

What a ridiculous waste of time.

[It seems she has had nothing positive to say about her arrival thus far. But to expect positive from her might very well be impossible. Positivity has died with the creature she once was.

She is no fisher and she doesn't intend to join in the fun and the games, but procuring some fish for barter or currency isn't a poor idea. Sylvanas does what she does best—that's what her bow is for. She's fashioned line looped about arrow with weighted anchor, intending to simply shoot her prey and makeshift reel in, which consists of little more than her simply pulling in the line.

No one ever said she wasn't allowed to play by her own rules. Take care not to knock her off balance or to distract her. She doesn't take kindly to that sort of thing and she may hear you long before you address her.]

04. - I Never Asked for This
[The hustle and bustle is annoying. Prismals and Moonblessed alike seem to be moving with haste in favour of the upcoming celebration. For several moments, she is akin to an eerie phantom in what seems to be an ocean of saturated vibrancy. Of all things she can describe it as, it is annoying.

It is even more annoying when she is coaxed into the affairs of the city.]

I did not hear you right. [She begins to a Prismal who has since turned their back, leaving Sylvanas to the devices she's been pulled into. Something about a 'dance.' And Sylvanas does not dance. When she puts two and two together on what she's supposedly been charged with, she scowls openly. And loudly.]

05. - Wildcard
[I have no idea what I'm doing here, but I'm flexible. Let's do a thing and have a throwdown if the above doesn't strike your fancy.]

[He's adjust to the odd appearances of people he meets, strange clothing, hair and the like but this one has him stopping for a moment, gaze appraising her before he catches the words. She's definitely conscious, capable of speech, which means she's likely just from a world where people look like that.

So he steps forward, gaze dropping to the handle, robes settling around him.]

[He could take the heat. A lifetime in the South had offered him an endurance to the heat that most would find enviable. As air conditioning was a concept that he barely knew beyond stories he had heard of an inventive doctor who found a way to cool the rooms of his patients suffering from Yellow Fever, finding the unfamiliar technology was constantly overheating was met with a practical responce: shut it off and take it outside.

Curiosity took him to the beath and, although he ignored the fanfare of the music, he found himself drawn to one of the carts selling frozen treats-- confections, cocktails, and the like.]

...You call this a 'Paloma?' [he asked suspiciously, eyeing the poor clerk with dark, untrusting eyes. He thought of the soft melodies crooned by talented guitarists in the cantinas. He thought of his horse-- a hotblooded Pinto.

Brows lifted as he eyed the frozen concoction. He had no idea if he could trust this poor vendor to not try to pull a fast one on him.]

...Why did I bother coming if the water's hot enough to bathe in?

[He asked rhetorically, heaving a frustrated sigh as he wiped sweat off his brow and tried to make sense of this fishing rod once more. It was a slow, patient art as he recalled, but he felt inept at it. The bait kept flipping from his fingers before he could slide it upon the hook, and jack knife ineffecttually on the ground trying to seek escape and freedom. He was lucky he didn't stick his thumb on the hook.

'Lucky' was never a word that worked in his favor.

Once more sighing his frustration, Marshall leaned down to catch the damned little shrimp before it snapped it's way off the pier--

He felt it before he saw it.

There was a rumbling in the water that all but shook the pier for a split second before a massive fish, shining in a prism of rainbow colors under the sunlight, leapt fully out of the water to smack an offending fishing aficionado with it's impressive, gilded tail before diving for it's freedom like some beast that evaded understanding by the human imagination. Marshall stared awestruck, half blinded by the crystalline droplets that gleamed in the blistering afternoon sun that sparkled with something almost breathtakingly Ethereal--

Or Eldritch. It was amazing how often the two became conflated.]

That, [he declared softly,] Is one gorgeous fish.

[ Jian Yi is... lively and that's putting it mildly. There are days when he's a little more subdued but those are few and far between. After waking surrounded by crystals, which fucking hurt as he'd tried to navigate through their prickly fields, and pouting his way through a rescue by Moon Knights, he'd been dropped off at the government center. Here he learned, which is unfortunate for all of Prismatica, that there is no Moonblessed by the name of Zhan Zheng Xi.

That puts all thoughts of, well, any lively and social behavior to the side. What was he going to do without Zheng Xi here? He was in a place that was what?? Physical contact, intimacy, and sex transformed into some kind of currency that was necessary to survive. He didn't want to Moonlace with anyone else. Coming to terms with how he felt about Zhan xixi had been difficult and it was still too new to just be okay with any of this.

If it's all because of you then what should I do.

So when the tears start they don't stop. He's lead into a random room by a bewildered city official and left to wait for his roommates. He's curled up on his bed, no longer crying after a few hours, with tear-stained cheeks when someone opens the door and comes in. He glances over. JY can barely see them. ]

One minute he's on a mission, meddling with the Genpei wars, the petty lives of the Sengoku warlords, weaving the threads that blend one tumultuous era into the peaceful fragility of the next. He flits between them like a hummingbird, here one moment and gone the next, and can you even be certain he ever existed to begin with. One jump through one too many times and he's been here before. Though it takes some time for it to all come back to him.

The barren landscape splashes back into his mind in broadly prismatic strokes. He looks to the sky where the stars hang just like in any other world and just unfamiliar enough to be unsettling. The moons, a whole other planet, they're spread out above and though he grips his sword in hand, it's a loose hold, tenuous as his place in this world or another.]

It's best not to worry. Someone will be coming for us shortly. [He sounds so sure of himself. He remains so calm despite the utterly inexplicable situation that surrounds them. Neither rising too nor falling back from any hysterics that might be well deserved. He's been here before and he'll take it in the same stride.]

If you're hungry, I have some tea biscuits here. [The smile that accompanies them is all at once warmly welcoming and only slightly unnerving.]

[Searching for his home doesn't bring Mikazuki to the Level 2 as directed, but to the cramped and crowded quarters on Level 3 that delineate the Caihong district. It's the streets that feel most familiar to him, that remind him most of something he once called home. Perhaps he bumps into you near the market stalls, spilling whatever wares you meant to buy on the ground. With only a laugh and a halfhearted excuse for an apology he ducks down to help gather up your things, better or worse for the wear.]

Ah, I don't believe it's suppose to come apart in two like that, is it?

[Once the market hassle sorts itself out, he continues to wander on his way, finally ending in the quiet recluse of a local temple, just on the outskirts of the district, where the cacophony filters in only barely through the timeless boughs of the sheltering trees. There's a garden on the premise, and it's the season for a small white flower that appears not unlike sugar crusted morning glories. The stone monoliths littering the premise are replete with them, clinging to the cracks with their creeping tendrils that would tear them down in the face of enough patience and time.

Mikazuki holds one in hand, snaps it right off the stem and holds it up in the full cordis moonlight, and though it holds the whole of his attention, he still speaks to anyone in the vicinity to listen.] Moonflowers. Did you know they change colors with the cycles?

[It's only natural that he would be drawn back to Amegahara for a number of reasons, even more so to the invitations to join the festival dances. Breezing through the auditions, the sword takes to practice with little complaint and without seeming to break a sweat. Though this could have something to do with the way he keeps disappearing on his assigned partner. He always returns before the instructors seem to take notice of the delinquency but if one were to look they'd find him in the wings, hidden among some of the spare drums, intent on catching a quick power nap.

Give him a break, he's old! Or so he claims.]

[It's been difficult for her to bring herself to leave the farmstead after what happened with the dragons of Lystellus and the breeding seasons they'd spread amongst the Moonblessed. More importantly... the hope she'd felt for a fleeting moment that finally, finally, the natural consequence of her marriage had finally come to pass, only to end in the cracking of eggshells and the blossoming of flowers.

But she has to move forward, even if it's the cruelest thing Lunatia has done to her so far. So she returns to manning the Tsurugi Farmstead stall at the markets, making the rounds...

( someone's gotten a little too comfortable after being put through the hoops of being a new arrival. sure, it's a little odd to be thinking about the whole situation with being transported into a different plane of existence but what's a girl to do. this certainly is no world she's seen before, that's for sure. she's been to just about every corner of her own to confirm that.

so.. she's eating to cope, like any reasonable person would. besides, it's a whole new world - she's curious to see what's different culinary wise.

maybe you left the door open, or maybe she convinced someone else to let her in or something. either way, there's a redhead in your kitchen now and she seems to be rummaging through the pantry and fridge. or maybe she's done doing that and is sitting on the counter having a meal. at least she looks really happy that it tastes good?? she kind of wants to ask if she can move in so she can keep eating the food here, actually. please don't kick her out she's VERY busy, as you can see.

and don't mind the empty containers, she promises she'll clean up.... )

( and here she is, sprawled on some bench or another with little regard for how she looks at the moment (and no she is NOT willing to share it!! that'd mean she'd have to MOVE). what's important here is she feels like she's melting. while she doesn't function well at all in the cold, that doesn't mean extreme heat was any better if she wasn't prepared for it!

so she whines, reaching for some poor sap passerby to grab whatever she can reach from laying on the bench with the most pitiful little grumble ever. )

( later on she finds herself at the beach to cool off, then promptly heard about how they're allowed to fish and how there's even a competition for it. not that she's all that interested in that or anything - she just wants to get her hands on the fish. sashimi is the obvious choice for something so new and fresh.. but maybe grilled over a fire is good too.... maybe someone can lend her a charcoal grill? hm..

either way, she's here now in all her glory in a swimsuit as red as her hair carrying something rolled up in leather. anyone who's dabbled in the culinary arts or even some others would probably recognize it as a set of kitchen knives. a must-have for any girl going to the beach, clearly. )

D'ya think they'd let me keep a few? I wanna try it..

( or maybe she's already tossed her satchel off on a towel somewhere and is in the water, forgoing the fishing rod (which is tossed haphazardly somewhere) to go pick a fight with the fish since she's already TRIED that, but the darn thing clearly wants to fight so she's come to bring the fight to the fish! slippery little sucker you WILL be hers.

when she surfaces a few minutes later, she seems to have a fish in her mouth, as if she doesn't already have enough feline inclinations. but she looks.. mad? brows furrowed and everything. rindo extracts it from her mouth and angrily starts shouting as if her newfound enemy could hear or let alone understand her. )

This isn't the right one - !!!

( not that she's not happy she caught something, which she just let go. she has a vendetta now, you see. she wants THAT bastard of a fish. )

( and as if by some miracle it does understand that she's mad and coming for it, said bastard of a fish splashes her out of spite (according to her, anyway, as if fish are capable of something like spite) and promptly drags her into the water before she could yell colorful profanity. it does so by either her hair or the fabric of her swimsuit, or maybe she's tangled in some seaweed - she has no idea all she knows is that she's fighting a FISH underwater (and losing. probably should've brought one of her knives) which is probably not the wisest choice but we can't all make good decisions. all she knows is that the sashimi she's about to make out of this one is going to be the sweetest she's ever had.

the problem is she hasn't come up in a few minutes. which may prove to be a bad thing soon as she's very much so human with very human lung capacity.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

[ Rune convinces himself this is one thing and one thing only: a transdimensional spell.

Maybe the caster hadn't meant to be this fanatical, but it's jarring waking up in crystal he's never seen before. He keeps a shard of it, and by the time he's brought into the city, there are more questions than answers. He's not quiet about it, though immediately hesitant to trust anyone who looks much too official. Then, it's a kidnapping, and he has every right to free himself. But the freedom allowed to explore the city and the address he's given for a place to live is somewhat unusual for that, staring at the crystal he curls his fingers around before shoving it into his pocket and turning away. And minutes later, Rune finds himself in a slightly more populated area, dim and full of lights and easy to recognize as some sort of pleasure district. (Every city has them, so it's nothing particularly new.)

He loiters along the main walkway, watching and trying to determine who to speak to first. Could he conjure a truth spell this quickly without drawing any attention to himself? If anyone could do it, it'd be him, but... There's a frown as he reaches out to grab the closest person walking by, grip pulling at the upper arm or wrist. ]

How long have you been a prisoner here?

[ If their numbers were high, then it couldn't be a coincidence. ]

YOU'RE AS COLD AS ICE

[ It's not the music that draws him. It's the magic.

Rune can't seem to understand how or where this place is generating so much without tapping the source so quickly, and so, he stands beneath a beach umbrella watching beachgoers and torn between leaving and waiting even longer for something to happen. In the end, it's the phoenix that has him staring, feeling the uncomfortable pull of magic as it burns beneath his skin in reaction. He squeezes his hands into fists and then touches the piercing in his ear, conscious of the way the charm wavers with the heat that begins to thaw those that had been caught in the ice. It spurs him to move forward towards the crowd, searching through them and deciding then that it wouldn't matter if he was caught. There's so much magic everywhere that anyone could be targeted. ]

You look cold. [ Spoken to the first person he sees. In that same thought, it might, instead, come out as 'you look warm'. ] Give me your hand.

I. COLD AS ICE.

[ Black isn't the most inconspicuous on a beach. Nor the cleverest option, she realizes too late, as the hooded jacket around her absorbs the sunlight. It draws more stares than comfortable — or maybe that's the scent stirring around her despite how she tries to dampen them with fabric, the pheromones sharp and crisp like everapple in the air, sweet but inevitably dangerous.

Like some kind of twisted Faerie curse that's been granted too late. She had wanted to be special once, noticed, and now she is. She had wanted to turn the tides, and now she has. She frowns as she shucks off the jacket, abandoning it in the sand, and stubbornly ignores anyone that comes sniffing around her or sends them on their way with a sharp look.

She heads for the water, instead, where she can be found in her first hours on the beach — like the sea and its salt might wash away whatever this world has done to her. It doesn't, much to her chagrin, when she emerges later — the gauzy fabric of her dress soaked, the knives strapped to her thigh gleaming, the ruby on her finger catching the light.

But it did help a new thought form. When she finds a victim of the sun, flushed or reddening from the weather, she approaches with a nervous smile. ]

They say my kind have some power here. [ If it's true, absolutely true, this is an opportune time to test it, even if she has yet to feel like any of this is real. She tries for what she hopes is a friendly smile and extends her hand. People are, after all, not quite her area of expertise. ] You look like you could use the help.

II. PUT ON YOUR RED SHOES.

[ Jude Duarte is no excellent dancer. Passable with lessons and some experience, maybe, but she has no illusions as to her skill level. Each graceful sweep of feet around her is an embarrassing reminder of that fact, of her own feet — practiced but stilted, prone to stepping onto her partners, and far more used to the movements of swordplay, of slyfooting, than rehearsed dances.

In Elfhame, the familiarity might have helped her bluff her way through the steps. As it stands, there's nothing at all familiar in the twirls and dips and almost inhuman contortions in the warm-up dances here, and she fumbles more than once.

By now, their instructions must be questioning who allowed her in. Her heats cheek a mortifying shade of red, but — well, her one small comfort is knowing how easily it can be passed off as a flush of exertion. Too bad this had been a terrible idea, no matter what information she had thought she would gather from sneaking her way in with the rest of the dancers.

At least they haven't found her out. Yet. It feels like only a matter of time when they spare her current partner's feet and pawn her off on another, paired with a few choice insults she grits her teeth against (that, at least, feels familiar; nostalgic, really) — hoping they'll be able to refine her, she thinks.

Fat luck. They have their work cut out for them, and this is only their warm-ups for what's to come. Jude is painfully aware of that, and even more painfully aware of the lack of any useful secrets she's gathered beyond talks of traditions and alliances, as she looses a breath and swipes the sweat beading off of her forehead. ]

We should quit while we're ahead of ourselves. [ She says, by way of greeting, trying for lightness and ending up just sounding dry and sullen. The grimace on her face is telling, just from the look at her profile, not yet moving to face whoever they've chosen to sacrifice to her. ] If you have any hope of saving your feet, that is.

[ Her partner is either very skilled or a fool; considering he volunteered to help her when the petition went out among the other hopeful performers, perhaps he is more the latter than the former.

Unlike most of the dancers, which have been fitted into the rather restrictive dress of the traditional fan dance, he is shirtless, flashing dark gray skin shiny with sweat. A pair of tight trousers gives him full range of movement, though there had been some last-minute adjustments to account for the tail, and clutched in one fist is a pair of broad, heavy drumsticks. In his other hand is a second set, which he holds out to Jude as a grin tugs at the corner of his mouth. ]

With what we're about to do, we needn't worry about our feet.

[ waking up in strange places wasn't exactly a foreign concept for him, but it certainly wasn't one he wanted to make a habit of. memories fuzzy and hazy for those first handfuls, fistfuls, of moments, static screeching across his aural sensors. the scenery wasn't as alarming as it might have been to anyone else, but what did tip him off was the lack of devastation.

the lack of reploids, like him.

the moon was one thing, but grounded on this planet, VAVA felt more isolated than he could recall. and though being alone was preferable, this context brought a whole new level of problems. humans, or human-like creatures, were everywhere. VAVA certainly wouldn't claim fear, never in a million years, but even he felt an admittedly unfamiliar sense of unease. nothing pinging his sensors as familiar, not a damn thing. and they expected him to live with one of these animals? VAVA could only pretend to blend in for so long; being quiet and observing were not usual traits he expressed.

so when he kicked down a door, intending to lay claim to the apartment it was attached to, he didn't make any attempt to see if someone had occupied the space yet. hopefully he didn't disturb anyone, what with his intimidating frame, still encapsulated with that heavy, metallic armor and faceless helmet. but even if he hadn't with his raucous entrance, his firm, caustic words probably would. ]

Oi. Get out.

[ now this? this was more his style. the bubbly, cheery, neon upper levels seared a sickness into his stomach, discomfort of what he perceived as a human-run world with no reploids. though he held no real camaraderie with his fellow reploid, with anyone, it still disturbed him to see that utter lack of familiarity. but this fourth level, this "lightless" level, this was more in line with what he could endure.

dark, dangerous, seedy, violent. even if they were all humans (or so he could assume), at least the playing field was level. every man for himself. and visions of ordering a group of thugs around certainly inspired more comfort in him than anything else he'd seen so far.

and roaming around meant leaving himself open to assault, that much he knew. he was a new face (so to speak) and he was certain that most of these inhabitants had grown accustomed to who dipped in and out of their prison. but VAVA showed no hesitation, not a bit of fear as he prowled through the streets, metallic boots clicking against the pavement.

and he barely flinched when someone ran headlong into him, colliding into his solid frame with an audible thwump. he had half a mind to keep walking, but that slight bit of contact sparked what he could only assume was that "chroma" nonsense they'd been blathering about since he arrived. it arrested his thoughts, made his eyes narrow and lips pull taut from beneath his helmet. odd... very odd.

he glanced down at the poor soul who rammed into him so unceremoniously, red eyes flickering just barely from behind a pitch-black visor. ]

What the hell was that? [ the chroma, was what he meant, but they were free to take that acrid demand in any way they chose. free country. ]

[There's an armoured, lady knight among the latest batch of newly arrived Moonblessed. At least that's what she's told they're called. The entire experience so far made her wonder if it's a trap, but the style... doesn't quite seem like what the Empire would pull.

Especially as these people allow her to keep Luin with her instead of confiscating it. Even as a ruse, the Empire would be at least aware she's wielding a Hero's Relic, right?

... In any case, she's on a strange ship and being transported to their "planet". The concept of travelling between the moon and the land is still rather hard to grasp for her. But their technology does seem to be on an whole another level.

As she ponder and looks around carefully, taking note of who is in this room and what's going on around her. Mostly people standing or sitting, sometimes chatting with one and another. She should strike up a conversation? She is very much out of her element, so maybe she should try asking for information from someone else if they know anything? And beside, maybe she can find a possible ally here?

So, she turns to the nearest person and smiles at them, politely.]

Excuse me, may I have a moment of your time?

[The sweet, frozen treats are delicious, but Ingrid felt a pang of guilt at eating something so luxurious. She wonder if it's possible for her people to eat something like this one day?

But she keep such thoughts to herself, as she walks over to check out the concert. The music style is new and unfamiliar to her, so she listens carefully. She doesn't know if it's to her tastes, but she can't deny the crowd seem to enjoy it.

Until the ice started to appear. As she looks around, she noticed her arms are starting to freeze over... and her frozen treat is still half-eaten in her hand!]

[Startled by this, she quickly back away from the concert crowd. And accidentally bump into someone.]

Ah-I'm sorry for bumping into you. I wasn't paying enough attention.

[Curses, even now, she shouldn't let this clouded over her hard-earned training. But the ice over her arm is spreading out and she's shivering.]

[In Orihime's apartment, an onion is only halfway chopped on the cutting board, and it quietly dries out in the empty silence. The instant Orihime felt the first faint glimmer of a reiatsu she knew better than any other, she literally dropped everything and ran for the door. Then she ran for the shuttle bay.]

[He's here. He really came back, just like Setsuna did! Over and over this thought echoed in her head, urging her to sprint that much faster. It doesn't matter who turns to stare at her, or if she's out of breath and shaky by the time she boards the shuttle craft.]

[Ichigo came back! She can't think of anything else.]

[Once the doors are sealed at the shuttle is airborne, Orihime has time for her pounding heart to slow and calm itself. She tips her head back, fingers clasped tightly together on her lap. There's so much she wants to say to him. There are so many apologies she's been holding onto all these months, things she was too embarrassed to say before. She'd been so worried that he might think badly of her for being in a city like this, so concerned that he might be embarrassed in turn if he knew she was aware of his presence. Before she knew it, he was gone, and it seemed like her chance was lost.]

[She hated herself for that. Ichigo wasn't the sort of person who would reject his friends if he found them in a city where moonblessing was practically a requirement. And if he was embarrassed, she should have let him know that he didn't have to be, that they were still friends and he had her support no matter what.]

[Orihime twists in her seat and presses her hand against the window, but there's nothing to be done. In her haste to reach him, she just prolonged their meeting. She sighs deeply.]

[After the world's briefest tourist stop on Iris before booking another trip back to the planet, the hours drag by, and finally, finally, Orihime is back where she started. At least the trip gave her time to rest, and she's off like a shot once more, making a beeline for where she can feel Ichigo's blazing spirit somewhere in the city. Would he have gone to find a place to live first? Stopped for something to eat? Ahhhh, she's so curious! She could have been there to greet him and show him around, she feels so dumb that she missed out!]

[Turning a corner, she spots the familiar color of his bright orange hair, and all the worry, fear, and insecurity she'd felt is gone in a flash, replaced by sheer, overwhelming joy. She calls out his name, not caring who else hears her at this point.]

The Crystal Exarch - Final Fantasy XIV - Iris

[ The day had not started innocuously enough, waking up on a strange landscape without warning...he wondered if Beq Lugg had at last made good on his promise to see to it that he rest by casting a sleep spell on him. There was a familiarity to the the land after all, awash in purple with vast spires of crystal. But it was no dream of times long past. The Moonknights found him and brought him to safety. They explained to him where he was and why--though it had taken some effort on his part to convince them that his partly crystallized body was not a sign that he was in mortal peril.

Though his connection to the Tower is so very strained. That may change before long.

Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise then, that as the Exarch began a tentative exploration into the city of Lunatia proper, a literal bear of a Prismal took it upon himself to pluck him up off the ground and shove him bodily into the arms of the nearest Moonblessed he could reach. The Exarch's protests either fell on deaf ears or were ignored entirely, the prismal's boom of a voice drowning him out as he patted both the Exarch and the volunteered Moonblessed on their heads.

There now! he told them, no need to be shy! 'Little bit of Moonlacing'll fix that arm o' yours right up!

And with his good deed done for the day, the Prismal sauntered off, leaving a deeply embarrassed Exarch trying to hide deeper under his hood while disentangling himself from the stranger. ]

My apologies. As I had been attempting to explain, I am not in dire need of any...'Moonlacing'.

[ It is entirely too hot.

It is entirely too hot and all the Exarch has to wear are heavy, dark robes.

Supposedly there is relief to be had at Lunatia's shoreline as the cooling unit in the apartment he'd been given has already broken. His own attempts to repair it came up short and thus he headed out into the merciless sun. It was a terrible idea.

Yet by his own perseverance, the Exarch makes it to the beach. The breeze coming off the ocean already has him feeling better and he's able to see a performance happening further down...but the need to rest draws him to a shaded bench first and foremost. He does't plan to linger yet, as it had on Kholusia, exhaustion begins to creep up on him. His eyes grow heavy and his hood dips lower.

Just a moment longer. That's all he needs... ]

[ For the first time in many, many years, the Exarch is seriously considering a change in his wardrobe. Nightfall has at last provided some tangible relief from the heat but he knows it won't last. The yukata he's currently examining would still cover about as much as his robes but they are at least of a lighter fabric.

There's only one minor snag. ]

'Demichroma'...hmmm.

[ The Moonknights explained much but not everything apparently, including the more common form of currency. The vulpine Prismal running the stall is watching him with a mischievous smile, all too ready to suggest an alternate form of payment. A scheme that the Exarch seems oblivious to.

The presence of another Moonblessed approaching the stall is what prompts him to act, the Exarch lifting a crystalline hand to beckon them closer. ]

Pardon me, might I ask a favor of you, friend?

[Without his twin, Hikaru's a mess. Easy to snap and fly off the handle, he's hardly a joy to be around. Although many would say he's not so nice either with his brother but at least he's more agreeable.

However, another problem with Hikaru is some of his other eccentricities pop out without being told that he's being ridiculous. Like how he watches too much sci-fi and how he's sure, absolutely sure, he saw a movie just like this one.

[Hikaru had had the fishing rod pushed into his hands before he could argue that he didn't want to fish. That's not fun, it's work, and he would never want to.

Beach Episode
[Maybe there's a lot to do at the beach and most times, Hikaru would have an idea. Most times, he would come up with some plan and Kaoru would help him perfect it. Maybe he could have fun at the beach but it doesn't seem like much fun at all if he has to do it by himself.

It's too hot to enjoy the beach and he groans audibly when somebody goes by. Hikaru just assumes they're help. Maybe your character isn't dressed nicely or didn't try to but somehow, Hikaru assumes they're a servant.]

Hey, I want a melon lemonade with a splash of spearmint. Also make sure the ice isn't crushed. I don't want it melting too quickly. Thanks.

[Said with the air of somebody who is very used to ordering people and just demanding things. But at least he said thanks, right? Also, yes, it's a weird combination. But he likes weird combinations.]

But he does give off a host-like impression, that much is true. Portugal still hasn't quite learned how to turn it off even though he's slowly starting to settle into his new lifestyle — tourism is a major industry back at his place. Still, he'll turn his head in Hikaru's direction as he walks away from the snack stand while clutching a melon lemonade of his own. ]

[ When Rukia came to the beach, she expected to lay out under an umbrella, read a book, maybe even build a few sand castles after a dip in the water. ( It would be nice to get a few moments of peace and quiet to herself to ... well, continue to process and assess everything that's happened. ) However, she had not anticipated that her powers here would be such a hot commodity—no pun intended—that this was becoming more work than relaxation. One of the stands' generators had overheated and short-circuited, so they were without a functioning freezer to keep their ice cream from melting. She stepped in to help. Then, a few passing customers—strangers, Prismals, maybe even you—asked to simply hold her hand or touch their face, just to alleviate some of the redness and sweat from their brow.

If she had Sode no Shirayuki with her, she could produce enough ice to cool off the entirety of Crystal Beach. Alas, this would have to do for now.

So, maybe she traded a little bit of her powers in exchange for icy treats; she was feeling extremely hungry and somewhat weak these days, and especially after expending so much of her powers. Strange, how much it seemed to take out of her. Maybe the heat was affecting her too? Or was it—what had they called it—using too much Chroma?

While she makes her way across the beach, looking the reprieve of some shade, she seemingly trips over her own sandals. Her knees buckling, a sudden wave of fatigue bringing her down. Without thinking she grabs the arm nearest to her of a passerby to steady herself with frosty fingers. ]

Ah— Sorry about that.

[ Finally, something that feels familiar. As much as Rukia enjoyed the freedom of Chromawear producing clothes from the Human World that actually fit her, being dressed in and able wear a kimono gave her a sense of relief, of home. Hers is a deep purple, covered in white accents and light blue intricate flowers with a matching obi. And the trinket pinned into her hair is translucent, shaped much like a snowflake. Overall, there's a sense of calm and strange belonging among the foxes of Amehagara.

Besides, dancing was no stranger to Rukia, and it wouldn't be the first time she was asked to perform one. Though she's no expert, she's definitely much lighter than on her feet than her partner.

Despite her amicable mood, it does mean she'll tolerate any slacking off, especially if it's going to make her look bad as a result as well. ]

[ This is a pretty recently familiar sight ... Different kind of music, but before his arrival here he had been to a concert. The performers were much more furry than these guys, though. And the music was a lot more rough and tumble. Still, music was nice, and he wasn't about to turn down a free concert.

It was kind of weird that he felt cold in such an obviously hot place, though ... And that was when he realized, hey, that's not normal??

Then again, he just got here. What even is normal. His life certainly wasn't.

Ice forming on his wrist was definitely not normal, though, and he knew it. He looked at it incredulously (this was not the first time he had been encased in ice, and it would not be the last), and then violently shook his arm to try and use gravity to make it fall off.

That was a mistake. He felt his hand come in contact with someone else, and immediately he felt bad. ]

Shit-!! I'm sorry, are you okay??

[ Rurik had heard about the fishing competition, but he decided to opt out of it in lieu of just walking along the beach and enjoying himself. After all, this was a summer vacation of sorts, right?? If the point wasn't to enjoy himself, then what was it?

And that was when a bass flipped out of the water beside him and smacked him square in the face. ]

[ The fish seemed to have a very playful sense of humor, because after it hit the water, it resurfaced moments later to squirt water into his face. ]

A. Arrival

[By the time the Moon Knights find Jiang Yanli, she's half-crawling, half-dragging herself across the moon's surface. The back of her white mourning robes are stained reddish brown, long chunks of her hair trapped in the congealed blood. Her face is deathly pale from blood loss and exhausted, her limbs trembling with weakness. She's babbling what sounds like utter nonsense: broken, insistent sentences about someone named 'A-Xian' and how she has to find him and see him again before he gets hurt. At first, the confused and distraught Yanli struggles against her would-be rescuers before her body finally gives up and she passes out.

When Yanli comes to again, she's no longer outdoors. Instead, she's on a bed inside a clean, white room that's utterly unfamiliar to her. The short, drafty little gown she's wearing is odd, too. It's too immodest to even be considered an undergarment so Yanli grabs a sheet off the bed and wraps it around herself as well. Even though she can't see it, it feels like the deep gash on her back has been attended, even if it aches. She still feels light-headed and nauseous so she just stays in the bed, resting for now.

That's not getting Yanli any answers about where she is or more importantly where her brother is so as soon as she feels like she might not faint again, she's climbing off the bed and walking very slowly and shakily to the room's exit and out into the hall.]

...Hello? Is someone here? Anyone? I'm trying to find my brother. Does anyone know where he is?

[Her voice is gentle and soft but there's a subtle, authoritative steel underlying her inquiries.]


B. Welcome to the Jungle

[The units that Yanli is eventually directed to are strange. They have little in common with Lotus Pier or Carp Tower. It takes her a few days to adjust to the unusual appliances and even then, she's unsure how she feels about them. Honestly, right now, Yanli's unsure how she feels about anything. The numbing shock of her husband's sudden death, his funeral, the sudden weight of single parenthood of a baby she barely knew, the commotion at Carp Tower, the chaotic battle at the pledge conference at Nightless City... It's all a lot to process.

Neither the Yunmeng Jiang or the Lanling Jin have any particular preferences toward secluded meditation. However, Yanli had spent a fair amount of time among Gusu Lan Sect cultivators during the war. She'd learned the value of withdrawing from the world when the heart was in turmoil. And so Yanli's kept to herself for the past few days, focusing her efforts on learning how to operate little things around her new apartment instead of interacting much with her neighbors.

But perhaps she should. Surely, it couldn't hurt to go introduce herself to people in her building, can it?

And so Yanli starts politely knocking on various doors of her apartment building. If the door opens, she greets the inhabitant with a shy, gentle smile.]

Hello, I just moved in next door. I thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself. My name is Jiang Yanli. What's yours?


C. Put On Your Red Shoes

[Once Yanli feels well enough to travel, she decided to take a trip to Amegahara. In spite of the unnaturally bright colors, the place still holds remarkable appeal to her. She wanders around the food stalls and tailor shops, browsing the ware with great interests. Presently, Yanli's looking through differnt patterned yukata, admiring the designs with wisftul longing. She only just arrived so funds are limited to nonexistent and she's simply not interested in being intimate with anyone.

Why would she be? She only just lost her husband and her period of mourning has only just begun.

So her only option, as Yanli sees it, is to look for work she can do. Only the skills of a young madam such as herself don't seem to quite match anything being offered, except perhaps sewing. While standing outside a tailor shop with a 'help wanted' sign out front, she turns to make conversation with whoever happens to be close by.]

Do you think they'd accept help from a novice?

[Her sewing experience is mainly limited to mending things rather constructing entire garments but she enjoys working with her hands and she's willing to try her best to learn more.]

[ It was reassuring that he wasn't in the Brand, as that had been his first handful of panicked minutes, but he wasn't sure that space was really any better. A Brandstorm was definitely worse-

But Asteffiel should focus on other things! Like lunch. He had to regrow parts of his clothes from all the poking, jabbing crystals, which left the Sylvari a bit hungry.

Turned loose to pick out a place to stay, he enters the first door he can, and goes to inspect the cupboards… whether it's unoccupied or not. ]

.... Breakfast? ... What time is it ...? Eh. First food is always breakfast.


{B} Boom

Hmmm….

[ He's standing on the sandy side of the pier, holding the fishing rod in one hand, and a simple spear in the other. He could go fishing with the fishing tackle… ]

… Isn't it easier to just… hit the fish…

[ Well, he can try it this way, even if it doesn't seem like it would work very well. And he does try, for a good solid ten minutes, to make the fishing tackle work. It seems like the bass are mostly nibbling his bait away. ]

Definitely easier to hit the fish.

[ Asteffiel drops the fishing tackle, picks up his spear, and goes right for the waves. ]

Oh…. That's lovely… [ Asteffiel doesn't quite get up against the window of the shop, but he is uncomfortably close to it.

Watching. He may be forgetting to blink as he watches the tailors inside work on a yukata.

He shakes his right arm out, dropping the leaves and petals that make up his sleeve as unceremoniously as that. Eyes fixed on the tailors, new leaves and petals sprout on his arm and… it sort of looks like a yukata sleeve, if seamed differently, and pretty obviously made of… plants, like he is. ]

…. I wonder if they'll teach me?

[ Asteffiel's probably in the way of some poor florist, singing over a plot of plants.

In fact, when one tries to catch his attention, he shifts his feet back and forth, sinking a little into the soil, and continues singing simple songs to the plants before him.

It's not clear whether its him in the soil with them, or his singing, or something else, but did those plants perk up? ]

Ana was so wrapped up in helping with the arrangements, darting too and fro to gather flowers, check on the condition of others, give a little encouragement to those who weren't quite as healthy as their brethren and getting the arrangements made that she actually doesn't realize that there is a distinctly plant-like person amongst the foliage.

She nearly plows into him follow a call for more baby's breath from inside had her reaching for it while moving and almost getting a faceful of leaves for the trouble. To her credit she does halt with inches to spare, looking more at the flowers she needs than the person she almost collided with.]

Sir, I'm sure the plants quite enjoy your singing, but we're very busy her--

She looks up and immediately jumps back with a gasp, dropping what was in her arms.]

(Welcome to the Jungle)
[ The initial shock of winding up in such a place is slow to wear off, but Anduin is managing to wrap his head around it enough to venture outside to look around. "Lunatia", "Moonblessings", "Chroma" they were all words and things he's never even heard of until now. Anduin had thought the Alliance had some amazing libraries but it would seem they obviously weren't extensive enough. Gods and titans? Sure. A place with technology to make a gnome's hair curl? Apparently not.

Everything looks new, figuratively and literally and the High King of the Alliance in all his armour can't help but wonder just what he's gotten into as he stares at a window display, the clothes there considerably more revealing than some of the ones back home and that's saying something.

Maybe it's best to start asking questions, to understand those who have been here longer and get their point of view. Perhaps even the locals would have more insight to give the young priest. So Anduin turns to address the nearest person, not at all nervous about doing such a thing. He is the one with the large sword at his side after all.]

Excuse me, have you been here long?

(Cold as Ice)
[ It's too hot! Anduin has been in hot places before, muggy places, humid ones where you felt you could reach out and squeeze water from thin air. This? This is way more than that, as if the Firelands themselves had somehow manifested around the corner. The heat is almost unnatural and it only takes the young man a few minutes outside before he contemplates defeat. This armour is definitely not made with such a climate in mind and just taking a few steps outside makes everything feel gross and heavy.

Luckily for Anduin someone recognises a newbie to Lunatia, taking pity on the young man and offering a free change of clothes. Soon enough the blond is making his way to where the activity seems to be happening, the clothes he's been given helping with the heat, though far more revealing than Anduin would like. He just couldn't say no to it, not when the reasoning behind it was so earnest and it helps him blend in and study the culture some more. If he's to be stuck here, he's going to learn what he can to help with any strategies needed in future, to help find a way home. Until such things prove themselves to be more nefarious, the High King of the Alliance will remain on good terms. Anduin keeps his sword, Shalamayne, to hand though. Leaving such a thing anywhere and out of reach would be asking for trouble!

Soon enough trouble finds Anduin. He's listening to the music that's being played, noticing just how different it is from anything back home. Even the air feels cooler and it's nothing to do with his own blessing being Cordis. No, otherwise he wouldn't have chosen to freeze one of his feet to the floor and a few twists and pulls lets Anduin know it'll be a while before he can get his foot free.]

By the Light, really?

[ It's a little embarrassing truth be told and Anduin sighs. He can almost hear his father pointing out that now if someone attacks he won't be able to move out of it.]

As if this place wasn't strange enough.

Most I have spoken to have been informative and accommodating and I know I am not alone in feeling a sense of reassurance in such things. There seems to be a sense of camaraderie and it is good to know that no matter how many new people arrive here there will be those to help pick them up.

[ Wrathion is having a great time.

It's very hot, of course, but heat largely doesn't bother him. He's a dragon, after all. You can't breathe magma breath and still be bothered by the heat of the sun.

Still, he has... somewhat dressed down. He's discarded his long coat, rolled up the sleeves of the dark undershirt he wore underneath and amusing himself listening to the local music.

That is, until a familiar voices catches him off guard.

Wrathion doesn't recognise him, at first. How would he? No familiar armour, not even his blue and white robes. Instead, Anduin appears to have made himself quite at home in the usual style.

That, and he appears to have got himself stuck.

How... interesting. Wrathion, if pressed, would admit he's thought about Anduin Wrynn more than once while he was here. He'd hardly expected to actually see him, though. Even if his being drawn here was accidental, surely the chances of the High King of the Alliance falling prey to the same quirk of magic seemed... low?

The dragon prowls his way closer through the crowd, red eyes lit with humour as he closes in on the young king. ]

Prince Zuko | Avatar: the Last Airbender | Sanguis

▶ Welcome to the Jungle

[ So Zuko pretty much ran from the welcome committee the moment the tour ended. After all the crystals, and the prodding, and shuffling, the whole ordeal, the fire prince was happy just to duck down an empty-ish alley. He needed to pause in private for a moment to compose himself discreetly…

…meaning he shouted out loud in abject frustration, with no thought of his own volume, while striking up two small fistfuls of fireballs, raw shock shaking and burning in his hands.

How else would someone react? Normal reaction. It was all too much for him to wrap his head around — talk about questioning one’s place in the universe… Too far. Too far. He had gotten so much better at controlling his firebending emotionally since his travels with the Avatar lately, and had taken so much of his uncle’s wisdom to heart, yet here he was losing control of the basics in what should be his time to act. That thought didn’t really help him calm down, though, and two more quick puffs of flame sprung from his hands. He shut his eyes, took a deep breath as the weak flames sputtered out, and focused for a moment on nothing but the heat still left on his palms.

As cathartic as this small outburst was in the moment, it also caused a small trashfire in the alley. Meditative moment over. Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap. ]


▶ You’re As Cold As Ice (sort of)

[ Having gotten his bearings a little more since his arrival, the beach seemed like maybe it’d be a familiar enough place to sit and figure out what to do, observe the people, get an idea what he was up against here, strategize… All the summer activities fun-loving teens flock to the beach for! Maybe being in the sun would clear his mind a bit, he hoped. If not, at the very least, there probably wasn’t much on the beach he could accidentally set on fire…

However, he was stunned to see the beach was, in fact, half-frozen-over somehow? He’d never seen anything like it. He was too fascinated by the “icebending” to really notice, uh, all the other frozen people around him, and just walked straight ahead toward the icy source. He took a seat in the sand on his own, a bit behind the concert crowd. As he was casually transfixed by the show, he soon noticed the cold affecting him, too. But as the ice started to freeze his hands and feet to the sand, he’d just thaw himself out gently. He could tell already his firebending was a lot weaker here than usual, which concerned him, but why that was so remained to be seen. [ Later in the evening, you can find Zuko on the periphery of the Amegahara drum dance rehearsals. The sound had drawn his ear, but the ensemble made him stay. The harmony of the dancers and drummers, the fluidity, the dual gracefulness between the swift dancing and the resonant booms of the drums… Right up his alley.

Not that he’d dance, of course, no way. Just watch from the sidelines. Absolutely not.

But there was a certain homey essence in the performance that reminded him of the Fire Nation; as captivating as the show was, Zuko receded halfway into rumination again, staring blankly at the stage, tuning in and out in blips. His thoughts swam to the rhythm of the sound of the drums and the heavier-than-usual feeling of his heartbeat.

It was a nice wind-down for what was objectively the weirdest day of his life (although not the worst, and the thought wasn’t lost on him). Wouldn’t necessarily call it a moment of peace, all things considered (kidnapped and spirited away to another planet, y’know), but watching the drum dance was a welcome moment to process things, regardless. Zuko basically spent the whole day touring the city to find all the best places to brood, which he excelled at in every spot. So far this was the best one, though. ]

[ Korra's on her way somewhere with Naga, when the (still apartments sized) small polar bear dog runs towards that alley. The Avatar follows her and they get there just in time to see some fire... bending? It could be anything else too but that's one option and considering how Naga seems excited to see him, that's kind of what Korra assumes it to be without realizing who he is yet. She'll figure it out soon but so far all she sees is fire while they are behind him.

Trashfire could be exactly what Korra could have done herself here as a new arrival here over a year ago... Now she uses waterbending to extinguish it. ]
