deliveryhawk: (hahah how chaotic)

Takao knows it's never a matter of him missing it or being unaware of how Midorima is feeling. Especially when those emotions are threatening here on the court, observant on a good day. In this zone, he is tuned into his friend on another level. But that is the best thing about basketball. He is here, he does not know how he is here but Midorima even in his feelings knows, that means Takao is here for anything he needs, including deliveries of lucky items on days Cancer is in the last place. Or first, he's just here for what his friend needs. Including this, the thing they both need the most at the moment.

Every pound of the ball to the pavement, the slap as it lands in the shooter's hands or leaves the point guards. Every exhalation of breath let out on twist of the body that keeps the ball in motion is its conversation. It's an acknowledgment of what Midorima is going through, it's Takao being there and Midorima knowing that. There is no one else meant to throw that pass to Midorima the same as there is no one meant to catch that same pass from Takao. It's their move, even if it can be replicated with another player nothing will beat the original Shutoku first years. This is their game.

All they need to do is play, their conversation will happen with a pass here, a dribble there, a fade left turned into a spin that shoots the ball to his friends' hands yet again. It is said in the way eyes to go wide at the speed. They've got this all because they have this, they have basketball.

"How chaotic!" He loves the speed. Takao can't stop the whistle of appreciation, he was not kidding when he said he was fast. Most people would balk at the thought of meeting that speed but there is a gleam of excitement in Takao, his body taut with anticipation, he can't wait till he meets it with his own, keeping those passes as smooth under a moon cycle as they are every day. Midorima being stronger drives his determination and when the ball hits his hands it's a thrill unlike anything else. He makes his move, coming in he doesn't need to call out the shot, he knows Midorima will read his body position, the way he comes in front of the other, hunches up and shoots the ball straight between his legs. Never looking over his shoulder because as always, he knows Midorima will catch his passes. He's trained those passes to be perfect for the shooter, so there's no way they can miss. Especially when it is just the two of them on the court.
