yes, tamaki's concern about decorum is certainly more about giving someone deserved respect, not simply kowtowing to someone who's part of a monarchy. a person is a person, as far as he's concerned, but that doesn't mean he's without home training -- in fact, he's had a lot of it; a lot more than most.

tamaki smirks slightly, glad to be praised with such little effort...and little does zuko know he can't even crack an egg without the whole shell crumbling into the bowl. at least he's given an inquiry regarding something he does know about.


I would be somewhat unimpressed with an apartment this furnished and advanced if it didn't have at least some form of tea somewhere. It may not be anything close to the quality you're used to, but surely there's something — except...

tamaki turns on his heel, expression suddenly grave. he's reminded of something he's found in his research...something that has come close to offending him, even if he understands the common spirit and the everyman's need to cut monetary corners. it's fascinating, but in a sad and horrifying way that he has to prepare the prince for:

I'm concerned that the tea they may have here is...instant.
