"Love" itself is a vague concept with many different meanings across many different cultures, but all of these are inextricable from the human condition and the conditions of the universe as a whole. I use "love" for lack of a more accurate word--there is no equivalent concept for this emotion in any human language. [His smile is sad when he says it, well aware this isn't the answer Akira wants to hear from him.]

A desire to maintain a connection, a deep and thorough exchange of information regardless of the content of this information. The information itself is not as important to me as that connection.
