▶ TDM .019

You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

The next destination: Prismatica.

Welcome to the Jungle
Iris Moon, Government Center (Arrival) and Planet Prismatica, City of Lunatia | top

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A  Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

What’s Behind Door #1?
09/08 | Crystal Beach, Lunatia | Submitted by: [personal profile] machizumo | top

The recent torrential rains and showdown with the Viergian Queen Tempeste have shifted the sands of Crystal Beach and dredged up seaweed and flotsam from below. The slight mess coupled with the seasonal transition into fall makes for a quieter beach and a more open space, if you pick the right time of the day.

Kazuma Kuwabara ([personal profile] machizumo), one of Lunatia's Moonblessed, has done his best to pick the right moment. He's saved up his energy -his Chroma- as best as he’s been able to, and he's decided that he's going to give busting out of Prismatica a shot. He's not sure how good his odds are, but there are odds. While Kuwabara is only but a human fighter who won't really be able to stack up against the demons that he normally keeps in his company, he does have one thing that nobody else he's heard of has... the ability to slice through dimensions!

It's not easy to summon, but he manages it, reflecting on his home and how to best reach it, how to potentially help others reach theirs. It's just past dawn when a large, clean tear in reality rises up along the atmosphere just above the mostly deserted beach, as though the scenery were made of fabric being met with sharp scissors. Beyond the tear is a swirling vortex of color and more.

What more means, Kuwabara doesn't personally get to discover. His energy is expended almost instantaneously, and he grows solidly crystallized before he hits the ground. The rest of it... that's for Prismatica and the Moonblessed around to discover.

B  The dimensional tear gives way to several more multicolored tears all across the planet. These strange rips have a strong gravitational pull that is near impossible to outrun. Find yourself close to one, and you may be pulled inside before you can even think to escape.

What’s on the other end? Inside, you find a scene of Prismatica ten years into the future, and the world is significantly more advanced. It is a time of great prosperity. The planet has been completely restored, flourishing with new life. Ten years' worth of memories flood your mind, and you have settled so deep into the culture and the world that you now think of yourself as a true-blue Prismatican. Maybe you have a good job. Maybe you have a spouse and three kids. Maybe you still think about home from time to time. Maybe you wouldn’t mind staying here with your loved ones. Hey, a lot can happen in ten years.

Fire and Brimstone
09/08 | Dimensional Tears | top

Not every dimensional tear leads to paradise. Some may pull you deep into the flames of a dying world, during the Calamity centuries ago. The first to greet you is King Majestas, his visage sitting on top of a throne built over a mound of crystallized bones. He fondly strokes his beautiful satyr lover, Lunae, as he encourages you to explore the vast wasteland. Attacking him is useless as he will disappear with Lunae after saying his piece.

C  All Chroma has evaporated, and everything is covered in an endless diamond sheen. In the distance, you hear the screams of people dying and the constant sounds of crystals being ground up.

Eventually, shadows appear before your eyes. Possessing crystal horns and a crystal tail, these devil shadows are consumed by your worst sin and will not hesitate to hurt you and those around you. The slothful can put others to sleep and soon ravage them in their slumber, the lustful can awaken the darkest taboo desires in you, and so on. No matter what your worst sin is, the shadows will thoroughly enjoy committing vile acts until you submit yourself to them.

Closing the Gap
09/09 - 09/10 | top

A day or two after the dimensional tears start appearing, Lunar Scientia announces that they have finished analyzing the mysterious rifts and will proceed to seal them after rescuing the missing Moonblessed. They will be calling for the Moon Knights and any remaining Moonblessed volunteers to grab some dimension sealing equipment. Yes, you read that right. The tears will be sealed shut in nearly the same way one would vacuum seal food for extra freshness.

D  These dimension sealers are not just any ordinary vacuums. They require an excessive amount of Chroma to power. Just hugging one person alone won’t cut it. Prolonged awkward and uncomfortable hugs with at least two or three different Moonblessed will do the trick.

The Lunar Scientia will suggest setting up camp with your chosen partners and dimension sealers near a dimensional tear. Spooning is naturally the most optimal of positions. The longer you moonlace and the more people you engage in contact with, the higher the effectiveness of the dimension sealers. A meter on the device will indicate when it’s ready to be activated, but beware of the sinful shadows from Prompt C trying to stop you from sealing the rifts.

Once the holes are sealed and everyone is rescued, the Lunatian government and mainstream media stations will start issuing friendly PSAs on all the public access networks about the dangers of cutting holes through the fabric of their universe.

Whaaaaat?

That seems unfair to say. We experienced ten years all at once, who's to say the road there wasn't more interesting than a few fleeting memories could provide?

[ Konoka's trying not to look like she's visibly pouting. ]
naturalgreed: (pic#14295740)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-11 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
If it were simply that, I would be inclined to agree. But the road there was full of repetition and could be boiled down to a pattern.

Moon cycles, newcomers, a brief respite, an event.

And something that can be read like that so easily... my love for it naturally always fades. It's quite unfortunate, really.
im_gonna_heal_u: (oh gosh)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-11 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds pretty reductive to me, but...

[ Once she heard "My love for it fades" though, Konoka felt she might be talking to someone prrrrrooooobably a bit more dangerous than she let on. Maybe she should withdraw before she got the wrong kind of attention from her. ]

Unfortunately I'm not long-lived compared to some ageless folks I know.
naturalgreed: (pic#14295710)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-12 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
But not incorrect.

[She sighs a little, her gaze looking rather bored.]

Well, not everyone lives long lives, that is true.

[Herself included.]
im_gonna_heal_u: (srs bzness)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-12 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
C'mon! You can't just reduce things to patterns and get bored of them!

[ Konoka sounds equally irritated and hopeful. Her earlier mindfulness of that dangerous aura forgotten. ]

What ignites your passions? Surely that exists here! Ideally in a way that doesn't hurt anyone?

[ Okay, mostly forgotten. ]
naturalgreed: (pic#14311226)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-14 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Is it really a reduction if it is true? Repetition eventually becomes rather predictable.

[There's a dryness to her tone and the darkness in her eyes.]

All I simply want is knowledge.

[While Echidna is dangerous, a lot of that danger isn't in how she can physically hurt another person.]
im_gonna_heal_u: (hold still)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-14 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Um. Knowledge?

[ That can't be so bad, right? So why does Konoka get a bad feeling from ]her?

How does knowledge help things become less repetitive?

[ Unfortunately, Konoka's curiosity is too big to shake her fear. ]
naturalgreed: (pic#14311228)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-15 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
That's right! After all, I couldn't call myself the proper Witch of Greed if I didn't seek knowledge, right?
im_gonna_heal_u: (i got nothing)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-15 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
The Witch of Greed?

[ Some part of Konoka is going "ABORT! ABORT! EVACUATE NOW!" with a name like that, but Konoka also knows the Dark Evangel (who has yet to actually follow up with a threat that wasn't also a good time). While she's not naive enough to think she can change her, maybe she can establish some sort of relationship that doesn't involve being the subject of something evil. Hopefully. ]

Is knowledge the only hoard you're interested in?

naturalgreed: (pic#14295741)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-15 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
That is correct.

[She pushes the darkness in her voice out, something rather ominous and dangerous having set in every syllable. But there is no threat outside of that - not yet, anyway.]

It is the only thing that I seek: plain and simple. Anything outside of that is what you would consider a 'bonus'.
im_gonna_heal_u: (Default)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-15 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...

[ The darkness chills Konoka, but it's not something completely alien. She's felt the same sense of dread going up against the Lifemaker and their upper echelon. Still, Konoka keeps her face brave and neutral. ]

You've visited the library, then? Those have a lot of knowledge in books.

[ In other words, find some way to sate her greed in a way that doesn't cause harm? She has her doubts this suggestion in particular will work, but if at all possible, she could find something. ]
naturalgreed: (pic#14311240)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-15 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I have. Or at the very least, the memories of those ten years show my personal experience with the libraries in Lunatia.

[The darkness in her voice easily fades to one of clear amusement, almost as if she were looking down upon Konoka.]

But there is much knowledge that can be gained in places outside of books, correct? And I believe that is much more interesting than simply reading all day. Although I most certainly can do so without much effort.
im_gonna_heal_u: (iris moon)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-15 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course! Books tell you a lot of stuff, but nothing's quite like actual experience!

[ Look down at her if you want, Konoka wasn't the type to easily be baited. She'll take amusement over more dangerous designs ]

In my years here, including the ten year vision, I got to experience all sorts of things! Virtual games, kink conventions... discovering new magic here too!
naturalgreed: (pic#14295731)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-15 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Right?

[She beams rather pleasantly in response to that question, almost as if she was given a small treat. While Echidna might have ten years worth of added memories in her head, all of those were simply 'a possibility' in her mind, similarly to Subaru's Return by Death.

It wasn't a finality.]

Experiencing something new is always quite more thrilling. Although you must tell me more - I have yet to experience these... 'kink conventions' that you speak of. [Virtual games, however, she's seen and heard about and experienced.] Although new magic is only natural to find, given that this world is quite unlike anyone else's.
im_gonna_heal_u: (the gift of gab)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-15 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That's what she's interested in? Huh.

Konoka might have known she was interested in the magic, but that seemed to be at the whim of Lunatia, and further still she could not recall enough details to practice them (yet another reason to believe this was more of a possibility than a reality). Still, she saw no reason not to elaborate on the kink convention.
]

Firstly, there was a Lingerie convention way back during the actual year I remember. Got to try out all sorts of clothes for free or cheap, and saw lots of attractive people in lingerie <3

I managed to get a bondage con going on in this vision, apparently! Tying up people is a load of fun when everyone involved is in on it!
naturalgreed: (pic#14268793)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-18 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
That's interesting...

[The witch hums with interest, tapping her chin slightly.]

What is so fun about it, though?
im_gonna_heal_u: (impish)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-18 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The feeling of restraints on your body is intriguing, like a tight hug that never goes away. Plus the right kinds of restraints make others look pretty!

Plus, when you can't do anything, you become a lot more sensitive, generally speaking, and that's fun to play with.
naturalgreed: (pic#14295710)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-19 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
Is it really? I am quite intrigued by it. I would have to see this for myself... as I have never utilized tying others for such a purpose.
im_gonna_heal_u: (mischievous)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-19 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, when things are a little less crazy, I'll have to show you.

I do have a store that sells toys for that kind of experience.
naturalgreed: (pic#14295682)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-20 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
You actually sell things like that...?

[That's a bit of a shock.]

I knew this place was rather strange with its product, but selling things specifically for that is quite a surprise.
im_gonna_heal_u: (the gift of gab)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-20 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this place is like that.

Granted, places like this also probably existed back where I come from, but I never saw one in person and it probably wasn't as popular as it is here.
naturalgreed: (pic#14311244)

[personal profile] naturalgreed 2020-09-22 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, is that so?

I don't think those were a thing in the world I lived in, but then again...

[She's been dead for 400 years, after all.]
im_gonna_heal_u: (the gift of gab)

[personal profile] im_gonna_heal_u 2020-09-22 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
Who knows?

But I didn't really experience them in my world, so all of my knowledge about them comes from here.
