You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

▶ What’s Behind Door #1?

The recent torrential rains and showdown with the Viergian Queen Tempeste have shifted the sands of Crystal Beach and dredged up seaweed and flotsam from below. The slight mess coupled with the seasonal transition into fall makes for a quieter beach and a more open space, if you pick the right time of the day.

Kazuma Kuwabara (

machizumo), one of Lunatia's Moonblessed, has done his best to pick the right moment. He's saved up his energy -his Chroma- as best as he’s been able to, and he's decided that he's going to give busting out of Prismatica a shot. He's not sure how good his odds are, but there are odds. While Kuwabara is only but a human fighter who won't really be able to stack up against the demons that he normally keeps in his company, he does have one thing that nobody else he's heard of has... the ability to slice through dimensions!

It's not easy to summon, but he manages it, reflecting on his home and how to best reach it, how to potentially help others reach theirs. It's just past dawn when a large, clean tear in reality rises up along the atmosphere just above the mostly deserted beach, as though the scenery were made of fabric being met with sharp scissors. Beyond the tear is a swirling vortex of color and more.

What more means, Kuwabara doesn't personally get to discover. His energy is expended almost instantaneously, and he grows solidly crystallized before he hits the ground. The rest of it... that's for Prismatica and the Moonblessed around to discover.

B The dimensional tear gives way to several more multicolored tears all across the planet. These strange rips have a strong gravitational pull that is near impossible to outrun. Find yourself close to one, and you may be pulled inside before you can even think to escape.

What’s on the other end? Inside, you find a scene of Prismatica ten years into the future, and the world is significantly more advanced. It is a time of great prosperity. The planet has been completely restored, flourishing with new life. Ten years' worth of memories flood your mind, and you have settled so deep into the culture and the world that you now think of yourself as a true-blue Prismatican. Maybe you have a good job. Maybe you have a spouse and three kids. Maybe you still think about home from time to time. Maybe you wouldn’t mind staying here with your loved ones. Hey, a lot can happen in ten years.

▶ Fire and Brimstone
09/08 | Dimensional Tears | top

Not every dimensional tear leads to paradise. Some may pull you deep into the flames of a dying world, during the Calamity centuries ago. The first to greet you is King Majestas, his visage sitting on top of a throne built over a mound of crystallized bones. He fondly strokes his beautiful satyr lover, Lunae, as he encourages you to explore the vast wasteland. Attacking him is useless as he will disappear with Lunae after saying his piece.

C All Chroma has evaporated, and everything is covered in an endless diamond sheen. In the distance, you hear the screams of people dying and the constant sounds of crystals being ground up.

Eventually, shadows appear before your eyes. Possessing crystal horns and a crystal tail, these devil shadows are consumed by your worst sin and will not hesitate to hurt you and those around you. The slothful can put others to sleep and soon ravage them in their slumber, the lustful can awaken the darkest taboo desires in you, and so on. No matter what your worst sin is, the shadows will thoroughly enjoy committing vile acts until you submit yourself to them.

▶ Closing the Gap
09/09 - 09/10 | top

A day or two after the dimensional tears start appearing, Lunar Scientia announces that they have finished analyzing the mysterious rifts and will proceed to seal them after rescuing the missing Moonblessed. They will be calling for the Moon Knights and any remaining Moonblessed volunteers to grab some dimension sealing equipment. Yes, you read that right. The tears will be sealed shut in nearly the same way one would vacuum seal food for extra freshness.

D These dimension sealers are not just any ordinary vacuums. They require an excessive amount of Chroma to power. Just hugging one person alone won’t cut it. Prolonged awkward and uncomfortable hugs with at least two or three different Moonblessed will do the trick.

The Lunar Scientia will suggest setting up camp with your chosen partners and dimension sealers near a dimensional tear. Spooning is naturally the most optimal of positions. The longer you moonlace and the more people you engage in contact with, the higher the effectiveness of the dimension sealers. A meter on the device will indicate when it’s ready to be activated, but beware of the sinful shadows from Prompt C trying to stop you from sealing the rifts.

Once the holes are sealed and everyone is rescued, the Lunatian government and mainstream media stations will start issuing friendly PSAs on all the public access networks about the dangers of cutting holes through the fabric of their universe.

[This is getting to be a thing isn't it? He's not supposed to be pretty or cuddly, what is going on. Boy, he should wait till the first time he sprouts a fox tail and ears, artic fox fans will rejoice.

How very diplomatic of her and it makes arguing or otherwise injuring the merchant a little hard so his thumbs slip into the pockets of his pants.]

He says I need to go cuddle something less prickly than me if I want to smoke, I say he can give me the damn smokes or I'll prickly him.

I suppose he could have offered his concerns a little more kindly, but it wouldn't be fair to take something without paying for it, right?

[ That tone in her voice, she didn't sound very bothered, it was almost as if she had a bit of a teasing tone to it. ]

Tch, I don't give a shit about fair, s'not like it's my fault I'm stuck here.

[Of course, he is still annoyed but at least he is not violent towards her and completely distracted from the merchant now. Though, technically still holding up the line. Not that the merchant is going to point it out, he is pretending to not exist at the moment just in case the Yakuza remembers he is there.]

[ 'I don't think it's his fault either' was at the tip of her tongue, but she decided not to say it out loud. Something about the tone in his voice told her he wasn't going to apologize any time soon. He was a stubborn one... but then again most boys she knew were rather stubborn and set in their ways. ]

Then take a deep breath. Just a simple in and out.

[ Gently slipping in front of Samatoki, she quietly apologizes to the man behind the counter. ]

I still have some left, so I'll take care of it...

[No the stuck here part is definitely not but Samatoki will stand by that what the man said to him was more than reason enough to warrant his reaction. He's punched men for less in his life. Stubborn as a mule with a surly disposition this one right here. So he needs stubborn in return and probably a woman since he won't hit one.]

Hah? How is breathing going to do anything?

[But she is between him and the merchant now and so the merchant is safe. He gives a scoff, not wanting the handout but okay he needs the smokes. So maybe he lets her by them and then she can get a handshake or something from him, but you know not in public okay.]

Fine, I'll get you that chroma crap back after this.

[ She lets out a soft hum to his words as if to let him know she was still paying attention, despite the fact that she was currently focused on the man behind the counter. She pays for the cigarettes and turns to walk off with them in hand, hoping that would make Samatoki follow. The sooner they leave his shop, the sooner the man can feel at ease.]

[Okay he can take a hint and with only one last glare for the shop owner he follows her out. Stepping in front of her, he opens the door and holds it till she is through.

Should probably say thank you so that certainly seems to be what he mumbles under his breath. Not nearly as angry with her as he was the merchant.]

[ ooh! So he did know how to be a bit of a gentleman. Either he had a bit more respect for women, or he knew she was going to hold this smokes hostage until he acted nicer....

She bowed her head a little as she walked out of the store, tapping the pack to her hand a little when a quieter voice slipped past his lips.

Oooo~? Maybe he was the type to be embarrassed by kindness. She smiled a little and turned herself around to face him. ]

Mmm~? I didn't quite hear that?

[Only a bit and not very often where anyone can see him. It was probably a combination of both; raising his sister means he has a little different view of how to act toward a woman. Coming from the world he comes from means he has an inherent mistrust of them at the same time, so playing it respectful means he can gauge rather he should be ready to get the fuck out of this situation or not.

He pulls up short when she turns to face him, taking an instinctive step back as his red eyes narrow with suspicion. Is she going to pull out a mic? Are her cohorts going to pop out and arrest him like they'd try to make Nemu do?

Then she is teasing him as Nemu would...

His heart settles, willing himself to bite back the instant adrenaline rush the move brought on.]

Tch, thanks...

[He says it louder, still grumbly, and looks off to the side, embarrassed by the word and by his reaction to her turning.]

[ She wasn't expecting him to say it so soon! She was more used to guys who were a little more stubborn than this, it honestly took her a little by surprise! There was silence from her until a bit of laughter spilled out. ]

It was no trouble at all. I can't say this is very healthy habit for you, but I'd say keeping you out of jail is far more rewarding.

[ She finally held out the pack of cigarettes' to him. ]

I'd hate to see you locked up over something like that...

[He usually is but one she did startle him, even if he would deny it. Two, she has that same gentle way about her that makes him think of Nemu. Then again, when is he not thinking of his little sister, worrying about her.]

Wouldn't be the first time they tried to lock me up. [Yes there is a hint of bitterness there, last time someone tried to arrest him...it wasn't good.]

[He reaches out, taking the smokes he taps a cigarette up, puts it between his lips and lights up, intentionally blowing his smoke up and away from her as he just lets it rest between his lips.]

Tch, they couldn't keep me in there, I'd figure something out.

[So..he did say he'd pay back the chroma.]

So what, you want to hold my hand or something so I can pay you back for the smokes?
