You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

The next destination: Prismatica.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

▶ What’s Behind Door #1?

The recent torrential rains and showdown with the Viergian Queen Tempeste have shifted the sands of Crystal Beach and dredged up seaweed and flotsam from below. The slight mess coupled with the seasonal transition into fall makes for a quieter beach and a more open space, if you pick the right time of the day.

Kazuma Kuwabara (

machizumo), one of Lunatia's Moonblessed, has done his best to pick the right moment. He's saved up his energy -his Chroma- as best as he’s been able to, and he's decided that he's going to give busting out of Prismatica a shot. He's not sure how good his odds are, but there are odds. While Kuwabara is only but a human fighter who won't really be able to stack up against the demons that he normally keeps in his company, he does have one thing that nobody else he's heard of has... the ability to slice through dimensions!

It's not easy to summon, but he manages it, reflecting on his home and how to best reach it, how to potentially help others reach theirs. It's just past dawn when a large, clean tear in reality rises up along the atmosphere just above the mostly deserted beach, as though the scenery were made of fabric being met with sharp scissors. Beyond the tear is a swirling vortex of color and more.

What more means, Kuwabara doesn't personally get to discover. His energy is expended almost instantaneously, and he grows solidly crystallized before he hits the ground. The rest of it... that's for Prismatica and the Moonblessed around to discover.

B The dimensional tear gives way to several more multicolored tears all across the planet. These strange rips have a strong gravitational pull that is near impossible to outrun. Find yourself close to one, and you may be pulled inside before you can even think to escape.

What’s on the other end? Inside, you find a scene of Prismatica ten years into the future, and the world is significantly more advanced. It is a time of great prosperity. The planet has been completely restored, flourishing with new life. Ten years' worth of memories flood your mind, and you have settled so deep into the culture and the world that you now think of yourself as a true-blue Prismatican. Maybe you have a good job. Maybe you have a spouse and three kids. Maybe you still think about home from time to time. Maybe you wouldn’t mind staying here with your loved ones. Hey, a lot can happen in ten years.

▶ Fire and Brimstone
09/08 | Dimensional Tears | top

Not every dimensional tear leads to paradise. Some may pull you deep into the flames of a dying world, during the Calamity centuries ago. The first to greet you is King Majestas, his visage sitting on top of a throne built over a mound of crystallized bones. He fondly strokes his beautiful satyr lover, Lunae, as he encourages you to explore the vast wasteland. Attacking him is useless as he will disappear with Lunae after saying his piece.

C All Chroma has evaporated, and everything is covered in an endless diamond sheen. In the distance, you hear the screams of people dying and the constant sounds of crystals being ground up.

Eventually, shadows appear before your eyes. Possessing crystal horns and a crystal tail, these devil shadows are consumed by your worst sin and will not hesitate to hurt you and those around you. The slothful can put others to sleep and soon ravage them in their slumber, the lustful can awaken the darkest taboo desires in you, and so on. No matter what your worst sin is, the shadows will thoroughly enjoy committing vile acts until you submit yourself to them.

▶ Closing the Gap
09/09 - 09/10 | top

A day or two after the dimensional tears start appearing, Lunar Scientia announces that they have finished analyzing the mysterious rifts and will proceed to seal them after rescuing the missing Moonblessed. They will be calling for the Moon Knights and any remaining Moonblessed volunteers to grab some dimension sealing equipment. Yes, you read that right. The tears will be sealed shut in nearly the same way one would vacuum seal food for extra freshness.

D These dimension sealers are not just any ordinary vacuums. They require an excessive amount of Chroma to power. Just hugging one person alone won’t cut it. Prolonged awkward and uncomfortable hugs with at least two or three different Moonblessed will do the trick.

The Lunar Scientia will suggest setting up camp with your chosen partners and dimension sealers near a dimensional tear. Spooning is naturally the most optimal of positions. The longer you moonlace and the more people you engage in contact with, the higher the effectiveness of the dimension sealers. A meter on the device will indicate when it’s ready to be activated, but beware of the sinful shadows from Prompt C trying to stop you from sealing the rifts.

Once the holes are sealed and everyone is rescued, the Lunatian government and mainstream media stations will start issuing friendly PSAs on all the public access networks about the dangers of cutting holes through the fabric of their universe.

[Samatoki gives a short bark of laughter at that. Sure it's new but will he ever really get used to hearing how the other him did something.]

[Blink, confusion, Spirit of Vietnam.]

[Yeah, just following now considering that one, it's kind of strange. It's a wonder Riou does not have a tent set up in his city jungle, why Samatoki is thinking about that who knows, maybe just because it's kind of strange to follow him into an apartment.]

[ Okay, he drops that then. No more talking about past Samatoki for now. ]

No. She doesn't live with me and she is no ghost. Think of her like a tsukumogami for the country.

[ That's the best way he's found to explain it to fellow Japanese people. Riou comes to the door and there's the pitter pattering of paws on the other side, and when he opens the door there are three little dogs. Full grown, just smol. ]

The light one is Smith, the dark one is Wesson, the white one is Bones.

[Riou is the best that way. Tell him to let it go, and he does; he doesn't nag or keep poking. The yakuza appreciates it; it's enough just wrapping his head around being here, to begin with.]

[That does help it make a little more sense or enough that he is just going to let it go. When the door opens, and three small, way too cute for Samatoki's good pups present themselves, if he was any other person, he might outright say awww. As it is, he steps in, around the dogs, and drops down into a squat. He is scratching each one in turn quickly behind the ears.

So one of these is his, huh? Funny, their coloring reminds him of some people. And maybe, he's giving Bones an extra scratch or two, who can resist after all.]

[ Bones seems extra excited to see him and though Riou has been working with her, she's not quite as well-trained as Smith and Wesson are. This means that she's going to attempt to jump right up Samatoki's knees after the extra couple of scratches because that's definitely not enough attention after he was gone for so long!! ]

Yes. If you decide to take her back, I can provide you with some rations and supplies until you're able to get to the store.

[Of course she isn't, dogs reflect their owners, and there will always be an untamed part of Samatoki, not hard to imagine the same would be said even for a cute fluff such as Bones that had taken to the Yakuza.]

Eh, sure, why the hell not? Guess it beats sitting around alone all day, you sure?

[He gives in to the dog's attempts, laughing a short bark again as he scoops her up into his arms. She is fucking cute.]

I will prepare that for you before you leave.

[ He doesn't bother warning him that she's on Riou's schedule, so Bones will likely wake Samatoki up at 5am. ]

[Samatoki for thanks, though how thankful he will be at five am tomorrow remains to be seen.]

The mission of the moonblessed is stated to be that we should generate as much chroma as possible in order to restore the planet to its former glory. Moonlacing is what we are supposed to do to accomplish this. I have done a lot of moonlacing.

[ ...Well, Samatoki said he wasn't sure what to do. Riou is all about the mission, so... ]

[That tone is Samatoki's cue to just stare at Riou. He should have known, really he does know but in the end, all this does is leave him staring through the delivery of this tactical explanation and then, he bursts into laughter.]

Riou, never change. [Crazy son of a bitch, Samatoki pats a hand to the soldier's shoulder and flashes that cocky grin of his.]

I bet you have, just be safe about that shit, don't get no weird alien std or something.

I do not believe that is an issue here. The environment is more likely to cause strange reactions than intercourse.

[Something tells him no matter where he naps, Riou is going to keep some sort of eye. Call it a hunch.]

[ Yeah and he already has a key too, which he takes out, considers for a moment, then hands to Samatoki. It's fine, he has extras.]

[Samatoki smirks, again, not surprised, he is ready and used to EXTRA, at the moment rather than making him shake his head, it's familiar. At least Riou remains Riou, no matter where he is.]

[ Riou follows Samatoki out of his apartment and to the next door over. It's unoccupied. ]

Unlock the door and do not step forward. I will disarm the traps.

[ What? Did you think that Riou wouldn't protect it from trying to rent out the apartment? MTC is a terror on this building. ]

[Well, at least it's not far and there is comfort in knowing the other is close. Familiar faces, strange places and all.

The traps comment brings another bark of laughter.]

Crazy bastard.

[He unlocks the door and steps back, out of the way.]

[ Riou felt the need to. Samatoki would've absolutely walked into a trap if he hadn't.

Riou opens the door about two inches, just enough to fit his hand through so he can reach a trip wire and disarm it. Then he opens the door. ]

Come in. I will disarm the windows before I leave if you would like. I've electrocuted the window panes to prevent intruders from entering.

[Samatoki thinks about it for a moment, alien planet, he knows nothing much about it or has retained little of what he has been told except, shit ain't cool.

He walks in, taking a look around as he sits Bones down to let the pup settle in.]

Gonna get me if I open them from the inside or Nah?

[Because he might leave that if it won't affect his ability to open them.]
