You ever join a new fandom and your friends all tell you "Hey you are going to love this character!" And then it turns out that they were 100% right and you love them and would die for them?
Shirou was that character for me when I started getting into Fate/ earlier this year. The thing is that I am very, very new to this fandom and uncertain if I actually will be able to keep his voice or not. I don't even have icons for him yet, I'm that new! (Btw, if you have a good place to get icons let me know!)
The version of Shirou I'm thinking of picking up is a young man who grew up with the dream of being a hero of justice - a dream he took on because of his adopted father. He wanted to save everyone even at the risk of his own life. Then he discovered all of the terrible things happening to one of his very good friends and abandoned that dream to protect her from those horrors. He realized the value of being a hero to just one person, especially if that person is someone you love and even if they have a darkness inside of them that threatens the world.
He also has an arm that belongs to a future version of himself and is kind of really super into his girlfriend now - both of these things will make it difficult for him to be physical with folks so... you know... we all got things to deal with.
