Months draw out that feel like years, and despite his father's protests Jacopo finds an opportunity the moment Samatoki of House Yokohama Division fell through the tiny window in his tower and promptly punched him. A chance for freedom, a chance to finally see the wheat fields he's read only in books -- so he numbs the pain that follows this awful prince and decides to marry him. Though appearing reluctant, considering his tsun tendencies, it only took for the bedding ceremony for Jacopo to realize that Samatoki was but a man that wished for praise, comfort, and normality.

Normality in the simple sense of having someone to hold who he knows will gladly trip a man when he's running to ensure that he gets another few punches in -- and that is exactly what he does.

That on top of dealing with the finances and overall business questions from the common folk. And, of course, being on top of Samatoki.

And while they found happiness within their company the couples love was ticking down with every second that has passed. Slowly, but surely, the blood that Samatoki licked from Jacopo's face coursed through him with vengeance and hatred in its wake; an unspoken curse that had carried with him all his life, which is why he was thrown into a tower with nothing more than fairy tales and his father's promise to always be unloved. But Samatoki proved those years of misery wrong, proved to him that happiness could be found in both a person and the freedom of living his own life.

It's only unfortunate that their love is short-lived. The curse travels, Samatoki falls ill, and as soon as the dear lord was shouting "KNOT ME! KNOT ME!!" did it finally leave him bedridden -- and then dead.

And Jacopo was left all alone. Again.
