Everything is darkness except for dim lights sparkling in the distance, a faint gleam that greets you as you start to unfurl from your dormant state. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. Throat parched and skin dry and aching, you grope your body in alarm to make sure your possessions are still in place. This is far from home— perhaps a dream? You pinch your skin and slap your cheeks, yet nothing seems to do the trick. Searching for answers only rewards you with an endless expanse of purple dust as far as the eye can see. You have four options: one, panic; two, soil yourself; three, admire it all then soil yourself; or four, go into survival mode. Eventually, you’ll realize that you’re not alone.

Time moves strangely when you're trapped on a moon with no sun to guide you. Hours feel like days, and days feel like weeks. Travelling has rendered you weak and tired. Luckily, a few crystal formations in the shape of a cavern may offer you a small place refuge as you decide to nap. You notice a few artifacts left over from previous explorers.

Over a day has passed when a group of people find you worse for wear. Some are full of uncertainty and fear while some are full of curiosity and excitement. They claim that they are scientists from the planet Prismatica here to investigate the sudden appearances of rainbow crystals in the skies. That means you and the others they’ve located within the area. You are all a surprising find to them, and they are quick to load everyone in their transport vehicles for examination and questioning.
You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? Why are the pegasi so ill-tempered? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They do have questions on their own, so it’s only fair to trade. They tell you about their world as they poke and prod you, trying to understand what you are and how you came into their land. If they’re not trembling in fear, some of them may ask you odd and invasive questions in return, such as what the rate at which your body achieves thermoregulation is, how long your refractory period is, and if you would be willing to submit various kinds of body fluids to them. It's up to whether you wish to comply or protest.

It only takes a couple hours for the ships to reach their home planet. The ships drop the characters off at the city of Lunatia, where they will be given their communication devices and a plastic card they can present to certain landlords at any residential district for their subsidized (read: absolutely free) lodging. Officials at Prisma instructed the newcomers to await further instructions from the government, but you have a lot of time to kill before then. Why not explore in the meantime? Learn the ins and outs of the world, get a job, transform under the full moon, and discover the many mysteries of planet Prismatica!

You have four options: one, panic; two, soil yourself; three, admire it all then soil yourself; or four, go into survival mode. Eventually, you’ll realize that you’re not alone.
A ⬤ As you traverse the near-barren landscape, you feel something sting your skin. It's small and subtle at first, then you finally catch sight of it: an elegant, crystalline mosquito buzzing around from the corner of your eye. However, a pest is still a pest. After a while, marks near your welts begin to form strange patterns on your skin, mimicking ancient runes. Each rune has with it a particular side-effect that may hinder you on your journey:✾ The Mark of the Enchanter: Hallucinations, hallucinations galore. Your character will see everything and anything their imagination can conjure and will have difficulty separating reality from fiction.
₪ The Mark of the Destroyer: Limbs start to cease their function, causing you to stumble or try and get around one-handed. Other certain body parts may be affected as well. Look at the bright side: you can stop worrying about jiggle physics and hiding your fear boner.
⍢ The Mark of the Sinner: Your hunger, your thirst, your fatigue and your desire are at an all-time high. Your impulses are rabid and uncontrollable. Maybe you experience only one of those symptoms. Maybe you experience them all. All you know is that you want relief now.
These effects will eventually clear up with a bit of accidental or purposeful physical contact with another person, making you wonder if there was anything wrong with you at all.
B ⬤ Hunger starts to gnaw at you vigorously. Perhaps you consider hunting the moon's creatures to sate your hunger. That's when you see it: a thick, meaty, juicy meal on legs. No, we're not talking about Alex Louis Armstrong. A wild silver-white pegasus runs across the purple landscape, its hair billowing in the wind as its hooves smack loudly against the ground. Try and shoot it, and you may find your efforts curtailed by its legendary rage. Eyes aglow and wings beating up a storm, this pegasus is no dainty horse. Two thousand pounds of pure muscle swoop down and charge at you, all blades and ammunition deflecting off its impenetrable skin. Taming appears impossible; it will buck anyone away and leave a sizable horn- or hoof-shaped hole in them for their efforts. Hunting it, however, should be easier. Relatively.
C ⬤ Or you may decide that you'd like to take a drink in the prismatic waters. A small pond can be found just a few miles away from where you first awoke, but gazing into it reflects what appears to be a window into your own world. You see the faces of loved ones or at least someone very close and familiar to you gathered around your prone body, shaking it frantically as though to try and rouse you, yet your image lies frozen and unresponsive, not even a whisper of life running through you. Did you die in your world? Is this your afterlife? The questions start to pile up along with the gnawing dread that you may never return home again.

Luckily, a few crystal formations in the shape of a cavern may offer you a small place refuge as you decide to nap. You notice a few artifacts left over from previous explorers.
D ⬤ A comm unit abandoned within the cavern will display the former owner's idol obsession. As you tap the buttons indiscriminately, a holographic screen will appear, and you will see a fabulous recorded concert featuring three bubbly young ladies in animal print, singing to you about something called Cordis, a cat, and a bag of gems. Does this make any sense to you? Probably not, but the beat is catchy. You may even find yourself tapping a foot along to it. Don’t worry. We know it’s plastic love.
E ⬤ There's a small cooler-like container of preserved powdered food bags labeled with only the word “Edible” that can be safely consumed. Although the powder tastes as bland as you’d expect, it’s oddly filling, sating either hunger or thirst. But who will be the first — and the bravest — to try eating them?
F ⬤ A strange, pointed instrument is among the effects found in the cavern. It's silver, long, and thin with a curved end and a light. When you grip it with warm hands, it seems to vibrate enthusiastically and comes in three settings indicated by a frowny face, a neutral face, and a happy face. What could it mean exactly? No one knows, but you can fiddle with it to your heart's desire. Just don't ask yourself where it's been before. You don't want to know.

It's up to whether you wish to comply or protest.
G ⬤ If you react violently, you will be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. They came prepared, so have fun with that! In any case, conscious or not, you’ll be brought into one of the transport vehicles. If you choose to peacefully cooperate, you’ll be provided any necessary first aid and a refreshing drink to help you recuperate after the rough time you had for the past few days. Each transport vehicle has a few small rooms to rest in, but due to the limited space, you’ll have to snuggle up with someone else on that bunk bed. Unfortunately, the moonshine fruit the ship is also carrying in its cargo has an extremely sweet smell that’s been permeating through certain areas of the ventilation system… Taking a whiff of it may inebriate you for the rest of the trip.
H ⬤ It’s a bumpy ride as terrain vehicles draw over various crystal formations until you see a large dome-like structure up ahead. Within its confines lies the seat of the Prismatica's government, Prisma. It’s a bureaucratic wet dream: skyscrapers practically touch the upper surface of the dome, windows glimmer with a prismatic sheen as daylight hits them, and small ships can be seen flying to and from its spaceport. The scientists, members of the Lunar Scientia, usher you into their facilities for tests. Arrivals are likely to twitch, tremble, and panic as Lunar Scientia fellows take and broadcast every embarrassing, unfiltered detail about you — height, weight, age, strange odors, estimated frequency of sexual activity —- to one another. These scientists will ask you politely to undress, too, but understand if you don't want to. They're especially fascinated by the readings of pure Chroma inside you, whispering among one another excitedly about the possibility of the new arrivals being a new moon species. What should they call them? Moonborne? Moonblessed?
I ⬤ At long last, the questions and physical examinations are done. They’ve decided to call the arrivals as the Moonblessed. They’ll take you under their care until they understand more about you. You're allowed a very refreshing hot shower and a warm meal for your efforts. Don’t worry, the meal was imported from their planet. “Planet?” you might ask, but you won’t need to wonder for too long. The ships are preparing for their next destination: the nearby planet Prismatica, where you will be dwelling for the time being. You're free to explore the government center until then.

Why? Why the hell were they so interested in that among everyone they'd pulled out of the wastes?
His heart was pounding, but his saving grace came in the form of his nose.
"I'll look into it after, I think... but I smell food." Did he? Smelled like a regular old sterile research center.
"I think we hang a right here. Maybe it's comin' from the vents from some kinda kitchen, or..." Now he led the charge, keeping hold of her hand. She needed to eat. She should eat before he would.
Wait, why did that matter? There wasn't a damn food shortage.
no subject
"... You smell food?" His voice suddenly speaking up startled her momentarily, one eyebrow rising. If he smelled food, why wasn't she? Another bizarre occurrence to be filed with the others.
"Right and...!?" He abruptly took the lead without releasing her hand - an action she was both grateful for, but also nearly tripping because of their differing strides. Still, a quick step to catch herself back up, she followed.
no subject
He pushed open a pair of double doors and found it, complete with benches, tables, and not too long of a line as researchers and some of the early-bird Moonblessed were picking and choosing what they wanted to eat on their first meal here. Many faces were confused, twisted as they recognized NONE of it, but hunger overrode suspicion as things that were completely alien were placed on their trays one by one.
"HAH! Found it! ...My nose is pretty damn sharp. Must be 'cause the air's cleaner here."
But he blushed when he realized he may have tugged her along like a damn german shepard after a squirrel.
"...S-sorry. Here, why don't ya go ahead of me? Your stomach's been screamin' louder than mine."
no subject
Double doors open, she sees everyone... and gripped down on Kanji's hand. There had been a foreign impulse - a want to meet the other Moonblessed here, but she personally didn't want to do that.
"... Yes, that might be." But she doesn't sound so sure, half-paying attention to his words. Not until he mentions her stomach growl does she really snap back. "It's not that loud... is it?"
no subject
Save for one.
...Wh-what was Naoto wearing? He didn't peg her for someone who'd wear a scent. Seemed frivolous.
"Huh?" He snapped out of that spell. "I... maybe?"
He rubbed an ear. "Hearing's sharpened up, too. I can pick out conversations from about half the damn cafeteria."
Good. I can listen in on the biggest motherfucker here and snap them in two.
...What?
no subject
"Well, if I'm going to get food, you should come with me. There's no need for you to wait until I get food."
Right now, leaving him on his own didn't seem like a good idea, and that odd feeling from seconds ago agreed.
no subject
He wasn't a huge fan of some of the looks, though. They were rather casual from most, or strange lingering looks from just some others confused with the strange blessings they'd been bestowed with but weren't informed of yet. Kanji felt that being ogled was rather natural, winding up on a weird moon surrounded by strangers, and he was ready to throw his chest around and be the guy that he was a few years ago.
Before he knew it, he'd taken a path that had him directly blocking the line of sight of one too many strangers.
He took a tray with a rather white-knuckled grip. "...Dunno what they're lookin' at, but if they don't quit, I'm gonna make 'em stop."
He lowered his voice and turned to look at her: "I was able to call up my Persona, out there in the wastes. I thought- I thought that was just a TV world thing. Right?"
no subject
"Kanji-kun, calm down. I'm sure plenty of people are just as confused as we are about the situation. And the scientists are not going to approach us here."
If they did she might kick... wait.
"What?" Shaking her head, she blinked, taking a moment to process again what Kanji said. "Normally yes, but remember, there are conditions where we could apparently summon outside of the TV world."
Though, she wasn't sure what the conditions on this planet... moon were to allow Kanji to do so presently.
no subject
But he needed to calm down. She was right about that. He chose to chalk it up to the idea that, even now, he really never liked being ogled like some damn circus attraction.
Focusing on food would help, wouldn't it? But the minute he saw the spread, he was confused and back on square one.
"Shit... guess we're really on a whole other moon." He didn't know what that purple stuff was. Nor did he know what the red one was. He couldn't ask if anything tasted like chicken or some kind of vegetable, or he'd get a weird look.
Meat. Where was the meat? Wait. His nose! It was sharp now, so maybe if something smelled good to him, then it'd taste good, right? Chie- and Yukiko-senpai's cooking smelled like dogshit, so it probably wasn't a stretch to assume the taste. Hell, he'd seen the other boys' faces. He'd learned enough.
"Uh, where the hell do we start? I mean, some of these smell really good, so I'll just point those ones out?"
no subject
But he seemed to calm down upon seeing the food. Which, fair, she had to tilt her head at the sight of it.
"... This must be safe, right? Other people are eating it." At least, from her quick observation of the room they were.
Still, hearing Kanji start sniffing again, she decided to wait for his recommendation.
"Yes, I think that should work. There's always the option of taking smaller portions to sample everything as well."
no subject
So he simply began selecting. This purple stuff here, these orange things that looked like vegetables, packets of some kind of juice (after the funky sparkle water, he was glad to see something sensible like goddamn juice, he'll even take vegetable juice for all he cared).
"Okay, this one smells good... this one looks like it's popular, it's on a lotta people's plates. Uhh... this one, this one, hell yeah this one..."
By the time he'd finished, this was a spread for four people rather than two. But after getting the shit kicked out of you by a pegasus and struggling in the wastes, he was sure they both ate double by now.
"There. I think that's a little bit of everything, but a lot more of what my gut's tellin' me won't kill us." He then firmly pressed a fist to his own stomach.
"Iron stomach, you're havin' a damn Jupiter Lunch. Or... Mars or whatever."
no subject
Kanji might be eating that portion meant for a third individual...
"... Right. But, do tell me if something manages not to agree with your stomach, understood?" Not that it would be an issue for both of them, but had they located the restrooms here in case someone were to fall ill?
no subject
But when he turned to the tables, that weird agitated feeling came back. Some tables were pretty full of strangers out of necessity. Others were pretty empty. But Kanji was more of the guy who'd eat out in the yard or on the rooftop when Senpai invited him.
"Where d'you wanna go?" He instead looked to Naoto. Maybe she had a better idea.
no subject
Turning to look at the tables, again, she picked up on waves coming from Kanji. Not good ones either, but similar ones in her moments of frustration. He must not like how many people were at the tables... and the crowded ones, even less so. They should try socializing, but... perhaps not now.
"... That table furthest from the doors is fairly empty. Though, do you want to try finding a place elsewhere?"
no subject
"Gives me time to put my thoughts in order too, I guess."
Or maybe track down one of the researchers and press for answers. Maybe with whatever they might have to say that had nothing to do with his dick or his sexual history, he may have the info they all needed.
no subject
It might not do for them skipping out on socializing with others right now, but she still wanted some space after that examination, and Kanji might benefit from it. Keeping him comfortable right now just seemed a top priority...
no subject
But the mild paranoia was so unlike him. Had winding up here done something to him? Was it connected to the feeling that continually buzzed within their joined hands?
It was like a breath of fresh air after choosing a nearby door, leading to a staircase that led any who took them up three floors.
"Just then," he said, a little out of breath despite the lack of any sort of workout.
"Did somethin' change? Did the air feel... lighter?"
no subject
Honestly, what was that all about?
Oh well, they were soon in the stairwell and it quickly cleared up.
"It is. For a moment I was worried you or someone else might start a brawl..."
no subject
Okay, so... this door! At the very top, he nudged the door open. With a rush of air-conditioned wind, they were still within the large dome, but before them lay a spot of open rooftop with a full view of the oddest, overwhelmingly chrome city he'd ever seen. Small ships flew overhead, going about their business. Some employees were up here minding their own as well, two having a smoke and engaging in conversation.
Kanji's gaze briefly narrowed. "Yeah... I ain't pickin' up on the weird vibe up here. I don't know how I feel about these aliens, but other than pokin' at me like a zoo animal, I don't feel like they pose a threat t'you."
A beat. "Us."
no subject
Strange that she didn't get similar vibe. Usually, she was good - perhaps a bit paranoid - of the air in a room. Everyone had their mystery to them that it was unwise to have her guard down until she got to finish reading thoroughly. But now...
Stepping onto the rooftop, she continued to ponder it, but cooled those thoughts to have a look over the city. Why the chrome? Solar power maybe? The reflection of light was just going to continue making this place an eyesore.
"... 'Threat to me'?" Had the hostility been directed her way? How did she miss that?? "Did I offend someone? I don't believe I've spoken to many others here."
no subject
"That's what ain't makin' sense to me! Ya didn't do anything, but it still gave me weird, bitchy jitters. I mean, you can handle yourself, but I felt like... like a bodyguard."
He shook his head and picked up what seemed to smell like some kind of bread, and was pleased to know that it was when he bit down. Yet something deep in his belly wanted something else. Why did he go for the bread but not the meat? Why didn't he, to boot, roar at the crowd that he dared anybody to walk up and say something, giving him no choice but to knock every tooth out of their head-
His stomach clenched. He hated when guys did that shit. Hell, he was like that once. But he was getting better, right? Why was he having thoughts like that? Wasn't he working on being a better person?
"Maybe I'm antsy 'cause it's a hospital... s'been a while. Not since you made us all go and get checked out."
