▶ TDM .007
You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. Even the few shy moon creatures you find in the wild have strange crystal growths on their hides. This is far from home— perhaps a dream? You pinch your skin and slap your cheeks, yet nothing seems to do the trick. Searching for answers yields nothing but an endless expanse of purple dust as far as the eye can see. You have four options: one, panic; two, soil yourself; three, admire it all then soil yourself; or four, go into survival mode. Eventually, you’ll realize that you’re not alone.

Iris Moon, Government Center (Arrival) and Outer Space | top
After a day or two of living off the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. After the strange phenomenon during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.
You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? Why did I mix tequila with xanax last night? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay.
While waiting for transport to be prepared, you may freely roam around the government center. Eventually you’re called back from exploring, escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the moons and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as Prismal locals. The next destination: Prismatica.
Sparks can be seen overhead as more ship parts malfunction. This is a good time to hold your neighbor’s hand, say your last goodbyes, and apologize for that horrible thing you did in the sixth grade. Grip your seat with the might of every god you can think of.

▶ Jaws IV: Jaws Harder
Planet Prismatica, Outer Lunatia | top
The emergency landing successfully completes and the transport vessel will safely land on top of a gorgeous lake filled with tiny glaciers floating by. When reached out and touched, you’ll find out that the “glaciers” are surprisingly cool crystals and not ice.
The ship will be left hovering idly on the water surface while passengers are ferried to solid ground using portable emergency boats. However, civilization is still a distance away.
After surviving through so far, the Prismals guide everyone to a nearby encampment run by humanoid rabbits. They are tall, built, and have a habit of mentioning their virility an awkward amount of times. They are also generous and will share their game meat and fresh crops while allowing everyone to rest for the night at the only inn in their village.
The next day, the rabbits can be seen hacking away at some of the wilder-looking plants for an easier pathway. If you wake up early enough, you can ask some of them for a tour of the beautiful greenery. They mention that it’s thanks to the Moonblessed that their crops have been doing so well lately — the result of all the chroma influx. The rest of the journey to the city will be smooth sailing.

A. After settling into the ship and selecting the current in-flight movie, Back Door Slugs 9, you and those around you may eventually feel a bit of turbulence during the movie’s highly anticipated climax. Did anyone notice it, or is everyone too focused on the hot characters?
At first, it’s a small jitter that’s easy to miss or brush off. But as the transport vessel travels on, the shaking progressively escalates to erratic tremors strong enough to cause severe nausea. A minute later, a voice over the speaker announces the ship will have to make an emergency landing, citing technical difficulties.
Sparks can be seen overhead as more ship parts malfunction. This is a good time to hold your neighbor’s hand, say your last goodbyes, and apologize for that horrible thing you did in the sixth grade. Grip your seat with the might of every god you can think of.
B. Another minute later, a follow-up announcement states that external entities have breached the transport vessel. Everyone is warned to be careful and watch out for each other. Small fires will have to be put out before they worsen with either magic or emergency equipment onboard such as extinguishers. In-flight robotic attendants will be scuttling around to perform immediate repairs.
Eventually, an entire power panel bursts, and prismatic jellyfish unnaturally spill out. The jellyfish will try to latch and suction onto any technological devices close by such as the television screens on the seats or communicators and will show preference to Iris Moonblessed over the rest. Be ready to help and pull numerous jellyfish off both the faces of Moonblessed and Prismals!

A. You’ve probably heard of flying sharks from a veteran Moonblessed. But how about sea lions? These aquatic lions are born with scaly skin and gills outside of their crystallized manes. Unfortunately, they haven’t tasted fresh meat in quite some time. If there are any injured onboard or near your boat, the chances of the sea lions detecting people will be higher as they are drawn to the scent of blood. Growling hungrily, they will be quick to latch onto the boats, biting the edges, and trying to knock everyone overboard for dinner.

B. There is no running water all the way out here, so if anyone wants a bath, they’ll have to do it traditionally. The village protects a natural spring, which is a good place to bathe away the sea water. Around the spring, the rabbit folk’s friends — little scintilla chinchillas — will shock away any predators that dare to approach their sanctuary! Be at ease and feel free to offer your friends shampoo massages.

After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.
A. Find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.
Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.
B. A new high-end boutique, Prissy Polyp, has opened in Level 2. As compensation for what happened, both Moonblessed and Prismals that were affected in yesterday’s flight will receive 50% off their total purchase. Those unaffected will receive 30% discount coupons as a promotional gift. All are encouraged to visit with their friends or special someone, try on some things together, enjoy each other in the fitting rooms, and deal with the loud, ear-blistering background pop music.
Their clothing collections are characterized by bright iridescent designs, some features such as design patterns may glow ethereally in the dark. One of their signature dresses features a one piece (also available on their trench coats) that can amplify the appearance of one’s decolletage, gluteal muscles, and/or bulge with the press of a neon button. Another item among their collection is the maiden sweater: a sleek, backless sweater that shocks those who attempt unwanted touches. Others include skin-tight leggings (also available on their shorts or pants) which produce pleasant and relaxing vibrations on all lower extremities and fashionable polyp-shaped hats for all kinds of people. It’s a huge shop, you never know what else to find in there.

Shar is no backstabber, the pirate isn't doing harm. But still... Shar raised a closed fist to her mouth, pondered on how to go about. Toss the cove out the door? Lock him in a room and ask later? Let the lad nap and ask when he's awake. Or...
Ah!
With a thought in mind, Shar was on the move. She gathered some rope, sheets, anything she owned that could serve as a binding to the chair he occupied on. When the chores were set and done, Shar would end up with one tied pirate on the chair with a blanket over him. Can't be too heartless now. It was a matter of waiting for the lad's wake.
no subject
Wait...
What happened?
Did he pass out again?
He doesn't remember anyone else being here with him...
He finally stares at Erozea and blinks for a couple of times before speaking. "Eh? Eh? It happened again, I guess..." He yawns, and his tongue darts out and he laps up a couple of crumbs still on his face. Ace is absolutely food focused, and even those bits aren't missed. "Damn..."
no subject
Shar asked from the other end of the table. She helped herself to some ginger tea, sipping and calm. The man was bound at least so Shar didn't felt the need to worry. Plus, she didn't mind this kind of conversation, the poor bugger doesn't realize what Shar had done, yet.
no subject
"I fell asleep again."
He doesn't seem at all worried about being tied up, he doesn't even acknowledge it. Instead just peering at her with a sleepy sort of expression.
no subject
Breaking and entering? Stealing food? Shar may as well follow the code and hang this man up somewhere to fit the punishment with the crime. Most of all, clearly he's still unaware about his situation and Shar prefer not to spoil for him.
"While breaking and entering."
Shar added. "So then, why here?"
no subject
He grins, as if this is nothing at all to worry about. And she put a blanket on him, at least he assumes it was her, no one else is here. If she's the kind of lady to put a blanket on someone they've captured, she can't be a bad person at heart.
no subject
Still, he was reassuring, and calm. Was this truly his honestly or was he playing her? When she looked at him, she saw the faces of her crew she grew up with, a family she called her own once upon a time. His present felt... pleasant. Her days, pirates such as him dropped their flag and joined the marines with the Grand Company. Admiral, leader of the Grand Company, was once a pirate herself until she created Limsa Limonsa as the new settlement.
"You know, it's nothing but fish cooked over a fire. Charred. Culinarian and I didn't go well together."
no subject
"It was delicious! Fire cooked fish is one of the best foods, you're a really good cook."
There's nothing but sincerity in his tone. He's just happy to be fed and rested now. Coming back from the dead was rough on him, mentally at least, so a fuller belly and a rested body are doing wonders to help him cope.
no subject
It's hard to tell whether it's a joke or not. This or a blood bath, she prefers this kind of company. Still, it felt surreal to have this kind of conversation with a pirate. If not a pirate, maybe one of the Upright Thieves. Though he still stole. He has a kind heart, that she knows well enough.
Before she could continue the conversation, a dizzy spell suddenly casts over her. Shar winces in agony feeling as if someone is jabbing an ice pick in the middle of her forehead. The spell takes over and Shar drops forward on the table, It's as if she's doing the exact same thing Ace was earlier, taking a nap, but no, it's far from that. Shar remains silent napping for a brief moment.
no subject
Ace is about to start chatting again, maybe he can get more food and information out of the lady, and then she's out. And honestly, that's a little unsettling to see. He's not sure if she's like him in the sense of being narcoleptic, or if there's something else wrong, but he's ready to burn through the ties that bind him to the chair if she doesn't get up fast.
"Hey. You good?"
no subject
The scene she is forced to witness is a massacre, bodies, fire, and ice everywhere. The battleground is some stone fort over the waters. Pirates and marines battling each other's throats. What catches her attention though is Ace's voices, a pleading scream before he leaps to the fray. The large man behind them, melting with lava, showed no restraint when he delivered the final blow. This was execution and she witnessed Ace died in the arms who he loved and wanted to protect. Words were exchanged in his final moments.
In truth, Shar envied and honored his death. He could feel his soul burning brightly before death took him, most honorable way to die. The scene fades, leaving Shar a splitting headach and not quite awake yet.
no subject
He also has no idea that she's seen something so raw and personal, that she's been given a horrible moment to bear witness to. He just knows that something is wrong. Ace sleeps when he has an episode, but this is more like she literally passed out.
Ace tries to rouse her. But when he can't, he moves her to the chair for safety and put the blanket over her instead. And he'll stay by, and keep watch until she wakes up, regardless of how long it takes.
no subject
It takes a while, maybe ten long minutes, for her to regain consciousness. When she does come to, she tries to lift herself up, with her hand supporting her head. She's unaware of her strange visitor for that matter. There's some dizzy spell left and Shar tries to ignore it to get her sense back. Maybe she shouldn't move too quickly yet.
no subject
Ace is there and ready to help her if she falls or falters, but in the end he also knows that a person's pride is important. So he lets her do what she needs to, without interference for the time being.
"You need me to call for help? You don't look like you're feelin' too hot. I know some basic first aid, but I think this is out of my skill range."
no subject
"Tis only a faint, it will pass."
She didn't want him to worry about the pain in her head. When she does though, she stared up to him and then to the chair where he was suppose to be bound to.
"You finally decided to free yourself."
Spoke out as if to be expected. She didn't deny her grin.
no subject
He's not even thinking of how that sounds, all things considered. But for Ace, who doesn't care about his own health or safety, it's not the same issue at all. And not a big deal for him regardless.
"I figured it was time to get up. I was kinda worried about you."
no subject
She will call him out without a second thought. She chuckles, shaking her head, sometimes its best not to question the strangest characters.
"You didn't have to, but you did, thank you. Pirates such as yourself are rare."
Now things are about to go sensitive. Shar pulls her knees close to her chest, resting her cheek on top of her knees. Her demeanor changed to something sadder, she's unsure how to bring the next part up. This is the first for her to see someone died and see them breathing.
"Forgive my forwardness but, did you die before arriving here?"
no subject
Ace doesn't stop himself from calling her out too. "Most pirates are good people. I've met way more amazing pirates than bad ones." He's ready to defend his friends and family back home to the ends of all the worlds, but then she makes him stop with her change in stance and behavior. And then he curls in on himself a little, and wraps his arms around himself without really thinking about it when she asks if he died.
"What gave you that idea? That's kinda a weird thing to ask someone."
no subject
"Be at ease cove, if I doubted you, you'd hear from my blade instead." Which is true, breaking and entering, eating her failed fried fish, she should have dragged him to those Moon knights and do whatever. It was refreshing to her, to find a pirate who means no harm. She's probably smiling hearing the lad defend for them. Pirates from her star sold their own people for slavery, stole from the poor, and murdered. That was a new era sadly.
"It's the first time I witnessed such a vision with the deceased beside me still breathing." She admits to him. A small sigh escapes as she rises herself from where she is, feeling better finally. "You don't have to answer. Instead, I'll offer more fish in exchange for your tales."
no subject
"I'll sing for my supper. Or, eh, I'll talk for my fish."
Even if that means talking about what happened. He's not even sure if he actually died or not. It was so frightening of a moment, his last thoughts full of gratefulness to the people that loved him, and full of fear for those still on the battlefield as he started to fade from the light. So it's all a sort of surreal thing to him, dying and pain gave way to Prismatica, and the shock of the change in situation is still heavy on him. "I'm not sure if I died or not, really. I guess it doesn't matter. If I wasn't dead when I got brought here, it was going to happen anyway."
no subject
A chuckle escapes playfully. She slowly rises from where she is and begins what she promised. In her home, she left everything where it stands before she moved in. It's hard not to miss one wall where her long battle axe stands, dark red and black, it's hard to believe this Au Ra could pick up such a monster.
"Where I hail from..." she begins while picking up more charred fish, her failed attempt to cook. There's a way to fix that. The sound of bottles echoes in the kitchen. "We welcome death with open arms. For every battle we fought, our souls burn brightly. As you said..."
She turns around bringing a plate to the table, three more charred fish. Under her arm, two bottles of alcohol.
"It's bound to happen. Only when death claims us in battle honorably, the soul of the fallen warrior will radiant as the sun. The body is gone, but the soul lives on, waiting to be reborn as a babe.
You sir, your soul shined just as the sun. Mayhap you were summoned here for such honor as your reward."
no subject
Ace listens as she speaks about welcoming death, and about souls burning brightly. And he's not sure how he feels about that sort of thing now. He lived for the day, he survived for the sake of just one more day and living free without regrets. And his choices did not serve him as well as they could. While he doesn't regret for a moment living and dying for the people he loves, he's not in an absolute hurry to welcome death's cold embrace again.
"I dunno if I shined at all. I just did what I had to do as a brother. If I can't keep my little brother safe? I might as well have tossed myself into the ocean a long time ago."
Ace is grabbing at the first fast, though. Booze and fish, it's a good day to be alive again.
no subject
If only Ace knew what she meant by 'dance', but she knew better what he thought. She knows he's hurt, and hope her belief could comfort him. Shar's witness enough bloodshed from her realm. She lost some comrades either by the enemy or sacrifice. Shar hated the thought of people tossing themselves to protect her. Yes, keep the Warrior of Light alive, sacrifice the lambs. But to see how much he loved his younger brother for the cause, it was a bloody slap in the face.
"Your bother will most probably strangle you in the aetherstream if you did that." If he tossed himself to the ocean. She helped herself to her bottle of ale, popped the cap off with her nails. Hard scales come in handy.
"So come now, tell me of your adventures. Was it always at sea? This is what I asked for you know."
no subject
Ace has no idea what she means by dancing, but he does know that he's glad that she's willing to be sociable and not drag on about his death. While he knows it happened, he can't even pretend to deny it, he doesn't really want to deal with it when he can talk about way more amusing things. And Ace grins in approval at how she opens the bottle, that's impressive. He's got a couple of methods for it, but none of them involve his nails. He just twists it off of the bottle he claims for himself, after heating the top of it a little with the slightest rise of fire from his fingers. It's flexible after that, and easily removed.
And there's the proof that he was taken before he actually died, even if he doesn't realize it. If he was gone already, he wouldn't be able to produce the flames. He still has the powers from his fruit.
"It wasn't always the ocean! A lot of it was, but I had adventures in the mountains growing on, on deserted islands, visiting exciting places and seeing all sorts of things. I had a lot of fun." This is hard, he doesn't know where to even start.
no subject
Shar is trying not to snicker because she already has an idea, he's clueless, and it's all pirate talk. She takes a swing with her bottle. Rum is great with some company! One of the many reasons Shar hangs out in taverns. There are stories to hear and tell and drunk happy people. For the piss ones well, Shar has no trouble playing bouncer role.
"That sounds more of an adventurer than piracy," Shar admits, still grinning. "Pick a story cove, I have more fish. Let's start with the mountains. If your tale is indeed interesting, I may have one or two of my own."
