IT VERY WELL COULD. Gabriel sounds like her mother. Gross.

As for LGBTQ stuff, Hifumi's made it past the questioning stage and isn't really uncomfortable with the notion, but Japan is Not Great with non-heteronormativity, so more 'yeah that's valid and fine' is always good.
