Posted photographs of oneself didn't always mean vanity, more likely than not, for us exorcists, it meant we were wanted.

(He's quiet, the answer is yes.. but it's more than not his silence that indicates the answer as he keeps responding to the inquiry. At surface level, he doesn't know why he wouldn't respond.. but deeper, much deeper, it's because Todoroki has established himself to be a hero; perhaps Kanda doesn't want to paint himself a villain.)

[He can only take the silence as refusal to incriminate himself, but he won't bother him any further with the question. The circumstances of his home world were a mystery to him so it may have been inevitable. Enji won't hold it against him.]

Well, I doubt you have a price on your head here.

[omkara]

(He wonders. Perhaps not, but perhaps they all do. What if, one day, their value diminishes to this world and they're deemed to have no price at all? Would, then, they be sent home?

What if they refused to do anything they're asked of?)

Someone has come here. From my world. A dangerous fiend. I wouldn't say he's human, nor would he.. they call themselves super human, part of the Noah clan. They intend to eradicate humans from my world.

[He pauses, thinking. It's not his place to get in the way of things if Kanda has a score to settle, but he doesn't know if he could stand by if someone tried to threaten his friend.]

I won't let anyone lay a finger on your head. Even if you can defend yourself, and I know you can, I would want to defend you if you let me.

[omkara]

(The sentiment quiets Kanda, makes him feel tense, and he looks to Todoroki as he's trying to make sense of what he'd said.

Why would he risk himself for Kanda? A hero- right..)

We don’t have to call it that, but would you stop me from fighting by your side?

[He understands how Kanda must feel. The idea of needing saving isn’t a good one when the person is capable on their own, but it doesn’t stop his instinct to want to help. Kanda may not be someone who needs saving, but everyone could use a little help sometimes.]

(Kanda's reminded of a girl back home, she too shared a sentimental side, like Todoroki's sharing with him now. A friend, despite how thick his shell really was, he did have those back home and maybe it wasn't a bad idea to have a few here as well. Especially if they were as agreeable as Todoroki was.

He huffs through his nostrils and grins before he looks away.)

Get away from me. (Kanda's not interested in having his photograph taken whatsoever.)

(For some unknown reason he snorts, he somehow found amusement in the other's response to him.)

You're angry. (He can't be sure why he finds this amusing, but he does.) I've upset you.

This cannot possibly be the first time you have annoyed someone with your churlish behavior! What could make it so novel?

That's a rather twisted thing to miss... Did you once have someone on reserve whose job it was to get upset at you whenever you deserved it?
