You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B As a Remooning gift from the Lunar Scientia Headquarters, the dedicated team from the Amphoria Room has released their latest perfected technology: Amphoria Pods. These VR Pods, which can fit up to four people at a time, have been set up in the gaming hub within Level 1’s PrismaPlace. They allow users to upload sceneries of their world in order to create a realistic holographic landscape of their homes that others can access and play around with, granting everyone the means to relive past memories with their loved ones as well as interact with the bestiary of other worlds. The pods also use the same technology that enhanced the popular virtual game, League Match Action Online (LmaO), which means you’re liable to feel the chill of cold environments, the burning heat from boiling water, the hard slap of your ex-lover, or the biting sting of a stray wasp. All who use the Amphoria Pods for the first time this year will also receive a small amount of Chroma in case things get too real.

The first month of the year is packed with two of the most important winter events this season: Queen Elara’s birthday and the League Match Action Online (LmaO) PVP semi-finals. It just so happens that the Queen of Lunatia is also a huge LmaO fan. Coincidence? Definitely not! LmaO players and royal family fans alike can meet her at PrismaPlace, where she will be appearing in cosplay of her favorite hero, Ah-Kari, while holding a body pillow of Commander GareBear. You, too, can get an autograph or selfie with the birthday girl if you’re willing to fall in line! Her bodyguards will also be in LmaO cosplay, keeping the crowd under control during the long wait.

Queen Elara

Good day to you all! This may come as a surprise to our guests the Moonblessed, but I am a normal person despite my exalted position. Please do not think of me today as Queen Elara. Instead... my name is Ah-Kari, sorceress of the crystal! With my soul fan blades, through the darkness, I shall slice all who dare hurt my commander in twain!

But when she is not meeting and greeting...

Queen Elara

My comrades, we're going to make history today. We're going for a new record. Perhaps the highest kill counts or the fastest clear for this map — it matters not. We’ve practiced day and night for this tournament, so let us show everyone that we’re not to be taken lightly! Also, the livestream is going in the royal archive, so make your successors proud!!

... she will be furiously grinding her character and training her skills in LmaO in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Spectators will see her bring her own team full of hapless palace attendants who are there to either serve as her practice match partners or provide support to the one-woman army that is Queen Elara.

PrismaPlace is packed with giant crowds, many of them also in cosplay. While the semi-finals are taking place, new and old LmaO players alike can participate in the game’s current campaign: players who form teams get an improved chance of spawning unique monsters as well as winning rare items and skins in those prized lootboxes! Teams can also try to clear the event’s story together, featuring an aerial battle fought on griffin-back, which is heavily inspired by the popular Lunatian epic, The Battle of Abraxas, a colorful and complex story about the conflict between two families fighting over the fictional land of griffins, Abraxas.

A Progression in the event requires acquiring a griffin mount and getting it ready for battle. You can lure a wild one to yourself with a special veggie pie on a fishing pole. Should the griffin reject the lure, your character will be caught in a wind gaol and can only break out with the help of other players. Should you succeed, raising the griffin is a tedious task that involves players training alongside their respective griffins, running laps with them, taking them to hunt monsters, and feeding them properly. Depending on their diet, the food you give them will affect the color of its plumage and their battle stats.

Or you can skip the hard work and simply moonlace with your teammates through all the progression bars and required materials to save time. Once finished, you’ll be able to battle one another through the thunderous aerial domain of Abraxas. Clearing the event will net you an event-exclusive skin inspired by the royal family’s shining celestial robes and a weapon skin of a body pillow with your favorite character, so do your best!

B In celebration of Queen Elara’s birthday, the office of the royal household is hosting a modest tea party in the Greatmoon Groves. Swiffy bots that are normally programmed to remind visitors to keep the groves clean are now playing a birthday jingle on repeat. For people who prefer to be away from the blinding neon lights and the thumping techno music of PrismaPlace, this is the ideal escape. Unlimited tea and cookies are being served!

The tea is a soft-colored lilac concoction made from Ehrysian tea leaves that are known to cause a huge spike of alertness and is popular to Moon Knights and office workers with long night shifts as well as gamers for those all-night grinding sessions. The assorted cookies have either Ah-Kari or Commander GareBear printed on them. In case it isn't obvious yet, both are the birthday girl’s favorite LmaO characters.

Any Moonblessed looking for extra income is welcome to be royal attendants for the day; the hours are paid by Demichroma. They must be properly dressed up as maids or butlers (outfits provided by the royal household) as they serve tables.

Level 3, Caihong | top

Meanwhile, Caihong is in the midst of Remooning festivities in celebration of the new year, and merriment usually lasts a fortnight, filled with fireworks in the sky. Upon entering the district, beautiful Prismals with rat ears and tails greet you with a Happy Remooning and eagerly tug you along to join in.

Those welcomed will receive a pack of multi-colored sparklers, mooncakes topped with cheese, and a glowing drink called Champagne Supernova, poured in a thin glass in your hand. If you are over eighteen, the rat Prismals will ask if you prefer your drink with a kick. If you say yes, then they will add flavorful ice that causes extreme intoxication and might leave you to be susceptible to all levels of suggestion. Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.

A One of the party games being played by the locals is called Lucky Tail, which is basically pinning the tail on the holographic rat stand-in — with a twist, it must be played with a partner! Another participant will blindfold you, spin you around, then push you forward. The stand-in is located at the end of unsteady elevated platforms forming a maze, filled to the brim with distracting objects underneath. They’re long, they’re thick, and they’re vibrating furiously in an attempt to knock you off the platforms.

Your partner must guide you by voice to successfully navigate through the maze! The game is rigged with various mechanisms, so stepping on specific platforms will activate a number of traps against you or your partner: machines that may tickle, drop colorful slime, or cause the platform to repetitively spin, and who knows what else?

Should you manage to get through the obstacle course and pin the tail successfully, you and your partner will win copious amounts of Demichroma, courtesy of Buwan from Buwan’s Stop.

B Another attraction is a fun magic glamour booth known for its face or body swap features. The booth staff, clad in their festive rat paraphernalia, will encourage you and your friends to take aesthetic shots using an illusion generator. The effects last an hour. Photographed images can be instantly uploaded and shared in Prismagram. New year, new you! Why not take the chance to celebrate this momentous occasion in a unique fashion? It’s all in good humor.

There are two buttons to press: (A) CUSTOM or (B) RANDOM. Pressing A will allow participants to customize their desired effects. Pressing B will cause the illusion magic to randomly rearrange participants in questionable positions, new outfits (or lack thereof), and you may even come out of the booth looking like your best friend or your worst rival. The possibilities are endless!

Her mind had to be playing tricks on her, after so much time with it just being her in both of the worlds she had found herself dragged to she wouldn't have both Gohan and someone else from back home show up for two months in a ro-

all of these time things are beyond strange, but who knows? he'll dwell on them later--this is certainly the windmaster that invaded the ghost king's territory, that was his royal highness's friend, who was...

hm. well, luckily, he's addressed, and yin yu shakes his head. he looks like he's about ready to escape the situation, a bit surprised at being noticed so soon. maybe he should observe instead of interact. yin yu shifts, taking a step backward. why would he be in costume... this butler outfit is ridiculous enough. he doesn't say "it's just my face" but you could almost read it off of his (lack of) expression. ]

[oh no. and jin zixuan knows that face. he almost forgets about the dress at the sight of it. almost. he clutches the sides of it in his fists.]

Wei Wuxian, [it's that tone of voice. wei wuxian surely knows the one.] Is this your doing?

[because all terrible things have a way of being his fault, right?]

[Yanli doesn't really understand any of the technology in this world but that hasn't stopped her from from trying to adapt to it. Even if the extent of her knowledge is simply knowing what buttons to press and when to make something work, she does her best to make proper use of it. So she's willing to try one of these pods, at least, even if she's completely confused by their purpose and doesn't know what to expect before getting in.

After she does, she finds herself walking alone in an unfamiliar landscape, taking in the hard, barren sites. The slim woman dressed in a noblewoman's finery, her lotus bell dangling from her sash, is certainly out of place in such an environment but she walks on regardless, eventually coming across the cave and entering it cautiously.]

Hello? Is anyone here?

[Her voice, soft and calm as always, echoes within the cavern.]

[ truthfully, wei wuxian hadn't been paying attention to the games and programs going on. he's here for the food and the alcohol, and he's going to take his fill, because he's also a little heartsick. hence, wei wuxian is walking around with his mouth and hands full. he's like an overfed mouse right now.

that doesn't mean he doesn't catch sight of a young man in familiar robes hovering at the sign-up desk, seemingly looking for some divine intervention to help him with his predicament. what sort of predicament? did he want to sign up? oh, did he need a partner? ]

Ah, hey! Are you all right?

[Just because she's terrified doesn't mean she doesn't have those Weihu and Monk reflexes - she barely skids to a stop, narrowly avoiding crashing into the blonde, though they're mutually and awkwardly entwined in each other's personal space, eye to eye.

The foxlike moonblessed averts her eyes first, her ears flicking away, adding embarrassment to terror.]

VR helmets everywhere. Panicked. Needed to go. I. Wasn't expecting...

[She shakes her head, she's hyperventilating, her tails can't stop moving, she backs away.]

[ it's probably more surprising to see a drunk wei wuxian than it is to see him in such spirits. he's got the tolerance of the gods, he's always thought, and has been victim more than once to becoming a crying weepy mess on the floor bested by his own lack of alcohol related self control (at least back in the old days). but here he is! giggling and smiling and looking entirely happy again.

he doesn't even have the brains about him to think about it. the last time he saw him was.

well, awkward is a word. depressing? unfortunate. well! who cares about that, huaisang's drunk and this is his Favorite Person Who Helped Him Orchestrate A Master Plan of Revenge.

he squeals back and nearly topples over from being draped on, throwing his arms up and around wei wuxian's neck in response. nie huaisang stumbles right into him, too. at least he's little. ] Here! I'm here, where have you been! Trav-travel. Traveling, wandering, wanderiinggg... I don't know, I don't know. I really don't! [ he giggles to himself like this is the funniest thing in the world. ]

[ lifting his head, nie huaisang looks up, and... has just about the same thought. how strange. this person looks and feels like some far off relative, or something a bit closer. unfamiliar with the way lunatia seems to work, he simply looks, then smiles, face not betraying anything beyond a childish innocence that is entirely unreal. ]

He's quite handsome, isn't he? Such a rarity. [ the griffin chirrups in his lap and stretches its massive head up for more food, which nie huaisang gives without making him work for it at all. ] Even if it's more of a beast than it is a bird, I'll take it.

[ oh crap indeed.

nie huaisang, as it turns out, has his arm locked with his er-- no, with zewu-jun.

what to do? what to do? maybe he'd be a better actor if he had his wits about him. instead, he's suddenly feeling rather upset. as wei wuxian once liked to poke at him for, he can be quite the sad, weepy drunk (though one has to wonder how much of that is an act). in this moment, it isn't, and his lower lip starts wobbling.

but! he should say something! what should he say. what should he call him! he doesn't know! his brain is refusing to process--he really doesn't know-- so nie huaisang, pathetic looking, just sits right down on the ground, dropping in a huff of fabric like a spoiled child. in the process it seems he's forgotten he's holding onto lan xichen's arm, which means he is going to end up pulling him down too. ]

[ And there's something else lifting in his chest, a feeling that makes him give a small smile but one more heartfelt than he's felt in a long time. ]

I missed you, too. [ More than she could know. More than he could possibly describe.

But the last thing he wanted to talk about right now was his missing year. So Finn huffed a laugh and held on to her arms again. ] Okay. Seven months... I want to know everything. Is anyone else from home here?

[Deedee is less bothered by the man going armored and armed than most. Armed was polite, in Mundus; she had three months to acclimate to it.]

[A booth that brings memories back? What memories would he even want to relive?

Jin Ling has to try it anyway and see if the magic here is as impressive as it claims. And he finds that it is. The device also has mercy enough on him to let him see one of his happier moments from long ago-- or it used to be.

His uncle smiles and holds out a husky puppy.

Jin Ling was much shorter then, having grown like a shoot as a teenager. The vision adjusts for his height, even if the memory is more or less the same, aside from how he remembered his uncle looking so much taller then. Taking the puppy into his hands, it leans forward and licks the tears off his face. His uncle always knew the right way to handle matters, how to make it right (at least for a little while), how it felt to be insulted over what he couldn't control--

Once it ends, Jin Ling turns around to leave, finding himself immediately face-to-face with someone else. Did they see everything or did they just walk in after him? His own face is covered with tracks of tears, before its features contort in a show of rage.]

What?! What are you looking at?

II. God Save Us From The Queen A

[This might be the first time that Jin Ling will have to experience being poor. As if he needed any more proof that this is an illusion or a dream world. Never has he let the wealth of the Jin sect define him - if anything, it felt like a crutch when he still had so many resources and still couldn't prove himself to be the best - but he's never so acutely felt the absence of money. He still isn't going to partake in this "moonlacing" unless he really needs it. And he can find a team later.

Which is why for now, he's attempting to lure a griffin mount to him, crouched down and watching the griffin. One sniffs about not so far from here, but only a moment after the bait is set does he notice that another veggie pie is set near his.

He turns and glares in the general direction of where someone else is slightly hidden.]

Oi! Why did you have to put your bait so close to mine? [Well, he didn't notice who set theirs first, but...!] Take yours and find another spot!

[ Jill hasn't decided whether or not she wants one yet. The food and drink offered for free tend to come with some sort of caveat. So, for now, she's just observing others and how they react to it. The kick seems to be literal in sense of it being extra strong liquor, though she can't be for sure. Could be drugs? Either way if she changes her mind it'll be the normal one without the little extra bit.

She settles beside him, arms folded lightly though she gestures with a hand. ]

Well, generally it's a swift motion with the leg meant to injure.

[For as good as Allen might be when it comes to cheating at cards he's not nearly so skilled at hiding his tells in moments like this, at least not in front of Link. The second the Exorcist makes to step back the blonde shoots him a stern look that borders on scolding and parental. It very plainly says "don't you dare". He doesn't want to restrain the younger man but he also won't hesitate if it comes to that.

But... If Link had any doubts about this being the real Allen Walker before those misgivings are vanishing with each second that passes. This certainly isn't some Noah putting on a cheap act and making a show of puppeteering the other's body. It also indicates that it's possible that he and the Fourteenth don't share memories, or at the very least if they do then the Noah purposefully withheld the fact that he had encountered Link. And apparently Kanda didn't tell him about their meeting, either.

That's slightly surprising but also very beneficial in the current predicament, making it easier to maintain his story of being a fellow deserter.

Link slowly raises both hands as if to show he's unarmed (he isn't).]

[ nie huaisang turns, eyes wide and startled - is she talking to him? why would she be talking to him? the robes are familiar even if the face is not and he feels the need to draw his fan to hide behind.

he flicks it open and flails one free arm out. ]

[The eyes catch his attention first, if only because they're unusual like his: unnaturally yellow, glowing in the daylight. There's a small pause. Robot is not a word he understands, but he does understand machine. Logically, he can't argue: it makes noise and performs its task with precision. It's just its appearance is...irregular.

Much like everything else here.]

Gnomes are gifted metallurgists. Haven't seen them make anything like that, though.

[The way the man speaks suggests he's not overly familiar with what they are, too. And his appearance stands out. Another lost soul, it seems.]

Do you expect it to explode?

[Yanli giggles, tail swishing idly. She doesn't quite recognize him just yet, perhaps due to the clouding influence Cordis is having on her mind right now. Normally, she'd be able to understand this strange pull and overwhelming sense of familiarity as the same one she feels around the otherworld twins that she's met here. But right now, she's simply wildly attracted to this man without comprehending why just yet.]

It's a maze. You wear the the blindfold and I'll give you directions through it. There's traps along the way so you'll have to trust me to get you through them.

[She beams brightly.]

There's prize money at the end that we can split.

[And right now, Yanli needs all the Chroma and Demichroma she can get. She and Jin Zixuan are funding a wedding and future life together. Every little bit helps.]

[ viren throws a glance at her, expression losing any incredulity by falling into irritation, complete with a wrinkle of his nose. ]

[ his shoulders rise. if the server had any sense, they'd probably take the opportunity to dart out of his sight, but it seems they're patient enough to wait for an answer. he doesn't yet give one. ]

I meant in reference to the drink.

[There was so much! He didn't go to take any though, waiting for his gracious host to start first. Instead he took the moment to consider the situation and the implications. He would trust that it was not the mechanization of some evil entity, but it was still quite confusing!]

I-if I meet them, it may make more s-sense.

[If he saw it with his own eyes, he was sure he would be able to understand.]

[He was a bit startled and nodded his head slowly before raising his hands in solute.]

[The evening winds on in this strange new place, and Julian's bright edges turn to something softer amidst the haze of drink and joyous company. Any sense of loss experienced at once again finding himself displaced soon melting away into the night. He moves with the beginnings of drunken clumsiness, his smile a wide if sloppy thing, and it's easy - for the moment - to give himself over to the festivities, to save worries and questions for future Julian, for the light of a hangover-tinged morning.

He's heading off in search of another drink when he finally noticed the blur of motion headed his way, the slim blond figure half-stumbling towards him, feet lifting briefly from the ground. His one visible eye widens as he realises the man is set on a collision course with him, and instinctively he drops the empty glass he's holding, the high tinkling sound as it smashes going quite unnoticed as he catches Eichi in his arms.

He lifts him easily, sweeps him up in a firm embrace, and he's already speaking before the first tendrils of recognition grasp at him through the misted spaces inside his head.]

Oh, upsy-daisy. Are you alright? You nearly--

[The words cut off, something snags, and the face of the man he's now holding coalesces into a memory, the shape of a name already forming on his soft-parted lips.]
