You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B As a Remooning gift from the Lunar Scientia Headquarters, the dedicated team from the Amphoria Room has released their latest perfected technology: Amphoria Pods. These VR Pods, which can fit up to four people at a time, have been set up in the gaming hub within Level 1’s PrismaPlace. They allow users to upload sceneries of their world in order to create a realistic holographic landscape of their homes that others can access and play around with, granting everyone the means to relive past memories with their loved ones as well as interact with the bestiary of other worlds. The pods also use the same technology that enhanced the popular virtual game, League Match Action Online (LmaO), which means you’re liable to feel the chill of cold environments, the burning heat from boiling water, the hard slap of your ex-lover, or the biting sting of a stray wasp. All who use the Amphoria Pods for the first time this year will also receive a small amount of Chroma in case things get too real.

▶ God Save Us from the Queen
Level 1, PrismaPlace and Level 2, Greatmoon Groves | top

The first month of the year is packed with two of the most important winter events this season: Queen Elara’s birthday and the League Match Action Online (LmaO) PVP semi-finals. It just so happens that the Queen of Lunatia is also a huge LmaO fan. Coincidence? Definitely not! LmaO players and royal family fans alike can meet her at PrismaPlace, where she will be appearing in cosplay of her favorite hero, Ah-Kari, while holding a body pillow of Commander GareBear. You, too, can get an autograph or selfie with the birthday girl if you’re willing to fall in line! Her bodyguards will also be in LmaO cosplay, keeping the crowd under control during the long wait.

Queen Elara

Good day to you all! This may come as a surprise to our guests the Moonblessed, but I am a normal person despite my exalted position. Please do not think of me today as Queen Elara. Instead... my name is Ah-Kari, sorceress of the crystal! With my soul fan blades, through the darkness, I shall slice all who dare hurt my commander in twain!

But when she is not meeting and greeting...

Queen Elara

My comrades, we're going to make history today. We're going for a new record. Perhaps the highest kill counts or the fastest clear for this map — it matters not. We’ve practiced day and night for this tournament, so let us show everyone that we’re not to be taken lightly! Also, the livestream is going in the royal archive, so make your successors proud!!

... she will be furiously grinding her character and training her skills in LmaO in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Spectators will see her bring her own team full of hapless palace attendants who are there to either serve as her practice match partners or provide support to the one-woman army that is Queen Elara.

PrismaPlace is packed with giant crowds, many of them also in cosplay. While the semi-finals are taking place, new and old LmaO players alike can participate in the game’s current campaign: players who form teams get an improved chance of spawning unique monsters as well as winning rare items and skins in those prized lootboxes! Teams can also try to clear the event’s story together, featuring an aerial battle fought on griffin-back, which is heavily inspired by the popular Lunatian epic, The Battle of Abraxas, a colorful and complex story about the conflict between two families fighting over the fictional land of griffins, Abraxas.

A Progression in the event requires acquiring a griffin mount and getting it ready for battle. You can lure a wild one to yourself with a special veggie pie on a fishing pole. Should the griffin reject the lure, your character will be caught in a wind gaol and can only break out with the help of other players. Should you succeed, raising the griffin is a tedious task that involves players training alongside their respective griffins, running laps with them, taking them to hunt monsters, and feeding them properly. Depending on their diet, the food you give them will affect the color of its plumage and their battle stats.

Or you can skip the hard work and simply moonlace with your teammates through all the progression bars and required materials to save time. Once finished, you’ll be able to battle one another through the thunderous aerial domain of Abraxas. Clearing the event will net you an event-exclusive skin inspired by the royal family’s shining celestial robes and a weapon skin of a body pillow with your favorite character, so do your best!

B In celebration of Queen Elara’s birthday, the office of the royal household is hosting a modest tea party in the Greatmoon Groves. Swiffy bots that are normally programmed to remind visitors to keep the groves clean are now playing a birthday jingle on repeat. For people who prefer to be away from the blinding neon lights and the thumping techno music of PrismaPlace, this is the ideal escape. Unlimited tea and cookies are being served!

The tea is a soft-colored lilac concoction made from Ehrysian tea leaves that are known to cause a huge spike of alertness and is popular to Moon Knights and office workers with long night shifts as well as gamers for those all-night grinding sessions. The assorted cookies have either Ah-Kari or Commander GareBear printed on them. In case it isn't obvious yet, both are the birthday girl’s favorite LmaO characters.

Any Moonblessed looking for extra income is welcome to be royal attendants for the day; the hours are paid by Demichroma. They must be properly dressed up as maids or butlers (outfits provided by the royal household) as they serve tables.

▶ Say Cheese
Level 3, Caihong | top

Meanwhile, Caihong is in the midst of Remooning festivities in celebration of the new year, and merriment usually lasts a fortnight, filled with fireworks in the sky. Upon entering the district, beautiful Prismals with rat ears and tails greet you with a Happy Remooning and eagerly tug you along to join in.

Those welcomed will receive a pack of multi-colored sparklers, mooncakes topped with cheese, and a glowing drink called Champagne Supernova, poured in a thin glass in your hand. If you are over eighteen, the rat Prismals will ask if you prefer your drink with a kick. If you say yes, then they will add flavorful ice that causes extreme intoxication and might leave you to be susceptible to all levels of suggestion. Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.

A One of the party games being played by the locals is called Lucky Tail, which is basically pinning the tail on the holographic rat stand-in — with a twist, it must be played with a partner! Another participant will blindfold you, spin you around, then push you forward. The stand-in is located at the end of unsteady elevated platforms forming a maze, filled to the brim with distracting objects underneath. They’re long, they’re thick, and they’re vibrating furiously in an attempt to knock you off the platforms.

Your partner must guide you by voice to successfully navigate through the maze! The game is rigged with various mechanisms, so stepping on specific platforms will activate a number of traps against you or your partner: machines that may tickle, drop colorful slime, or cause the platform to repetitively spin, and who knows what else?

Should you manage to get through the obstacle course and pin the tail successfully, you and your partner will win copious amounts of Demichroma, courtesy of Buwan from Buwan’s Stop.

B Another attraction is a fun magic glamour booth known for its face or body swap features. The booth staff, clad in their festive rat paraphernalia, will encourage you and your friends to take aesthetic shots using an illusion generator. The effects last an hour. Photographed images can be instantly uploaded and shared in Prismagram. New year, new you! Why not take the chance to celebrate this momentous occasion in a unique fashion? It’s all in good humor.

There are two buttons to press: (A) CUSTOM or (B) RANDOM. Pressing A will allow participants to customize their desired effects. Pressing B will cause the illusion magic to randomly rearrange participants in questionable positions, new outfits (or lack thereof), and you may even come out of the booth looking like your best friend or your worst rival. The possibilities are endless!

[ Sizhui's guess would be 'so where should I go?' but - that might not be it at all. ]

[He gladly took the cup, mostly because it was something to hold and occupy his attention a little. Almost a bit of a distraction to prolong the inevitable. But, it wasn't like he could just stop talking entirely.]

I-I'm not sure what t-to do....

['Where should I go?' was exactly what was on his mind.]

Sure. Sounds a little like an Exorcist or a Paladin from my second world.

[She starts to stretch her legs. She's muscular and flexible, but then again, she is a martial artist.

Then she settles into a combat stance.]

[ It had been a wild couple of weeks? Someone was growing impatient recently so she had taken to ignore a lot that may or may not have been directed at her. But with that kind of voice, it was difficult to totally overlook it.

Arms pulled up for a stretch she looks over to Kars, quiet at first as she takes in his... well everything, and of course there is the curiosity now as she leans in some for a better look. It was kind of uncanny, wasn't it? ]

[ Corrections first. There was a look back to the apartment door before looking to him once again. ]

Moonlace for one, that's probably the quickest and easiest way to work yourself up to the first level if that's what you're after. So you know, getting nice and intimate with as many people as possible, it's easier for some than it is for others.

[ Having been living on her own for quite some time, she often likes to visit the rooftop gardens in her own residence building. It's relaxing, and private enough— and to this day, there haven't been too many moonblessed living here that didn't quickly move out. All the better for her, especially when she definitely needs people to not be around her at a certain point in the month.

So, she is surprised when she hears a voice speak up— and she pauses when she finds herself addressed, realizing that there's yet another newcomer who...

Well, he seems rather lost. Or upset. Maybe because he's so tall.. these apartments do have a certain height limit she supposes, but they can be modified...

Though she can't help but stare at him. He is rather large and... goodness. She's never seen a being so big since the dragons. But what amazes her is that level of energy emanating from him. And so, she bows her head. ]

You're newly arrived... I'm afraid any residence larger than this will have to be earned through moonlacing. Once you have the chroma for it— you can move somewhere better.

[ She wonders if he's cold... ]

Would... you like some help adjusting your living space, though? Maybe I can help.

[ Sizhui watches him for a moment, but then he turns his eyes down, suspecting the attention might get too much. (Sizhui himself has learned to step up and take attention when necessary, but he is so content to just do what needs to be done quietly and unobtrusively, himself. He... understands, just a little.) ]

If I may be so bold to suggest something, it would be: heal.

This world. It doesn't have sects or strife the way ours sometimes does. There were no grave errors made by a clan grasping for power. Nobody hunting... any of us.

We have been brought here, also, to help heal the world which has been broken by a Calamity. So you can be healing this place as well as healing yourself.

Did you... remember any of the explanations from after you woke up on the Iris moon?

[He looks a touch self-conscious.]

I mean, I grew up in the mountains, so it makes sense, it's pretty rural out there... [A better question is when is he from, really.]

[Tanjiro's viewpoint on "mean" is arguably "anything less than extremely charitable", so... His shoulders square as she pats her griffin, assuming he's being shown her ruling by fear, and--]

[He makes a face of absolutely horror.] --but that's so wasteful!

[He nodded slowly]

[He remembered what was said, but he hadn't quite understood all of it yet.]

[But he was also not confident in what he could do or where to start. He had already failed at trying to follow a map and find a place to live.]

I don't mind at all. Come on. It's not far.

[He really needs to work on his phrasing with this smelling thing. His hands go up, waving frantically.]

No, not at all-- I'm sorry, that was rude of me! I have a really keen sense of smell, is all, so once I'm familiar with the scent someone gives off I can identify them by it! All living things have a smell, usually unique to them!

[Bless you, Asuna. He's winded, wheezing a touch after chasing after his errant creature, and stands up straight when she walks over, considering her point. She... absolutely had one. He looks a bit chastised.]

...I mean eventually, sure, but... [He looks at the griffin, who proudly prances its way back to his side, sits, and preens. Tanjiro looks slightly mocked.] ...I am being a little soft, aren't I.

[ It's a lot. That's why Sizhui tries to go up to the Iris moon and help with anyone who might have too much of a gap. But he can help now, instead. ]

All right. In this place, it's rather important to know about moonlacing and chroma, because running low on chroma is dangerous. Even when we use the spiritual powers that we know, that also burns chroma, so we need to be careful.

Will you... hold my hand to see what moonlacing is like?

[ He settles his own on the table, palm up, reaching towards his cousin but letting him enough space to choose, for himself. ]

[ Look, he likes playing games, and he does try to get involved in Lunatia's monthly festivities because it helps him kill the time while he's here, but some people are just a little intimidating. It's just the aura that they have; the way their eyes bore down on you and make you feel like you've done something wrong whether or not you have. Jotaro has this aura and Yukako has a little of it too. Sometimes even Rohan can be a bit intimidating when he's really angry about something. Kars is definitely in this category of people, and that's why Josuke's a little flabbergasted that he got him as a partner out of all the less intimidating bystanders he could have been paired with. The crowd really just pushed him forward.

For a person like Josuke, giving orders is actually harder than taking them. It comes with it that pressure that he might mess up, he might walk them both right into one of the booby traps he was told are there (he's hoping they're harmless ones though, otherwise that's a dick move on the organiser's part). ]

Ehhh? Uhh. Right. I was just doing some mental preparation. [ Look Kars, u r a bit intimidating. Jouke steps forward now, holding the big guy's arms and guiding him into a few spins. ]

[ He wasn't sure how he found himself in these situations, none to pleased with the turn of events when he was paired up with this veritable mountain of a man. He had absolutely no intention of playing along with one of these silly games, even less compelled when Kars finally addressed him. ]

Just because I was told to doesn't mean that I agreed to it, turn yourself in circles if you want to play so badly.

[ There was a dismissive hand wave from Diego, even though he knew well enough that he couldn't be seen by his blindfolded partner. These games always had a catch and he wasn't particularly interested in seeing what this one was. ]

[He nodded slowly. He had assumed it was a third type of energy, but it seemed to be a little different from spiritual energy. It didn't sound like it could be cultivated like spiritual energy, only built through work with others. To be honest when he was learning the different methods some of them were just too much for him and ended up distracted during the rest of the initial explanation.

But, as with spiritual energy there were many uses, and many methods. Having someone who was also familiar with what he would already know was helpful.

He placed his hands gently on top of Lan Sizui's, wondering if he would be able to sense a difference between chroma and spiritual energy. He assumed one was not needed to be consciously transferred.]

Most people are the worst. Usually saves everyone a lot of time.

[ But he does take the pile of fliers. This is work he actually finds easy, despite the ‘dealing with people’ part. Annoy people, convince them to take a sheet of paper from him to keep him from annoying them further. Easiest thing in the world. ]

[ The interior just looks like how the inside of a new flat should. Is it the most stunning thing in the world? Not at all. However, it is functional and - much more importantly - completely rent-free - so it's nothing to complain about in Josuke's opinion. ]

You're a tough customer, huh? It's not much, but it's pretty alright for a free apartment. Everyone starts out like this. [ Josuke himself is still living in the free accommodations. While he would love to live somewhere fancy and spacious, he's living paycheck to paycheck right now, so not having to pay rent on top of it all helps. ] Anyway, there's a way you can make it a little nicer.

[ Using a Totally Globular, that is. He would be happy to show Apollo if he's interested. ]

[ She'd tease him far more, but honestly— his responses are so sweet that she only feels more affectionate. It's been a while since she has felt like she could open up too— in no small part thanks to another from Ginoza's world and a few others she's begun to cherish here, but she's not about to turn it away.

She's never been one to hide her care, anyway. Especially when someone's doing far worse than she is!

His metal arm only fascinates her— if only because she has a cousin back home with a similar condition. And she is a doctor, so it only excites her to learn more about things like this... especially if they could help someone.

[Jin Ling is used to being reprimanded by his seniors, and though that feeling always sticks uncomfortably in his chest, he sets his jaw and shoots an angry look through eyes still blurred with tears. Quickly, he wipes his face off with his sleeve. He knows that someone from the Lanling Jin Sect, let alone the newest sect leader, ought to be more composed.

He can only stare in sudden bewilderment.]

Hoh? [ Yes, Kars does believe he was told that. It all coincides with that first point of making chroma with other moonblessed, right. He shifts his weight into his hip and his eyebrows lift higher, dark red eyes not at all subtle as they look Jolyne up and down. He's deciding if he's attracted to her, and after deciding that she's worthy: ]

Your explanation is appreciated, Jolyne Cujoh. Are you easy or are you difficult? I'd like to try it for myself.
[ Kars' gaze drifts down to his open palm before he closes it into a fist. Moonlacing is something he has yet to experience, and he must see his new ability for itself! ]

Aye, they're Prismals, not miqo'te. There's an easy way to tell, though. Miqo'te are cuter.

[ She will stand by that forever, catte pride. She almost reluctantly hands over his clothing though, giving him a few more appreciative looks— hey, if he doesn't mind flaunting it, she won't mind enjoying it! ]

[ The answer he prompted, and then some. Kars is pleased and he steps aside, a large, bulky arm reaching across the front of the door for the metal handle. As the apartment hadn't been locked, it's pulled open from the outside, the plain furnishings and emptiness of it visible even from where they stand. It might be difficult to see the issue— if Kitsuno had considered it potentially the height, the apartment's high ceiling might make Kars' earlier complaint all the more confusing. ]

[ He senses that she isn't a human, and he likes her more for that. Humans suck. ]

Tell me your name, woman.

[ It was the combination of the of the questioning and... what was he doing with his hand? ]

... Weird flex, but okay. I appreciate a guy that could be direct, but like, you should probably offer your name before going for the gold right?

[ At this point, she holds out a hand to offer him. ]

Meanwhile, you could have a chance to see what the lowest form of moonlacing feels like first and we could work our way up depending on how this pans out.
