You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

The next destination: Prismatica.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B As a Remooning gift from the Lunar Scientia Headquarters, the dedicated team from the Amphoria Room has released their latest perfected technology: Amphoria Pods. These VR Pods, which can fit up to four people at a time, have been set up in the gaming hub within Level 1’s PrismaPlace. They allow users to upload sceneries of their world in order to create a realistic holographic landscape of their homes that others can access and play around with, granting everyone the means to relive past memories with their loved ones as well as interact with the bestiary of other worlds. The pods also use the same technology that enhanced the popular virtual game, League Match Action Online (LmaO), which means you’re liable to feel the chill of cold environments, the burning heat from boiling water, the hard slap of your ex-lover, or the biting sting of a stray wasp. All who use the Amphoria Pods for the first time this year will also receive a small amount of Chroma in case things get too real.

▶ God Save Us from the Queen
Level 1, PrismaPlace and Level 2, Greatmoon Groves | top

The first month of the year is packed with two of the most important winter events this season: Queen Elara’s birthday and the League Match Action Online (LmaO) PVP semi-finals. It just so happens that the Queen of Lunatia is also a huge LmaO fan. Coincidence? Definitely not! LmaO players and royal family fans alike can meet her at PrismaPlace, where she will be appearing in cosplay of her favorite hero, Ah-Kari, while holding a body pillow of Commander GareBear. You, too, can get an autograph or selfie with the birthday girl if you’re willing to fall in line! Her bodyguards will also be in LmaO cosplay, keeping the crowd under control during the long wait.

Queen Elara

Good day to you all! This may come as a surprise to our guests the Moonblessed, but I am a normal person despite my exalted position. Please do not think of me today as Queen Elara. Instead... my name is Ah-Kari, sorceress of the crystal! With my soul fan blades, through the darkness, I shall slice all who dare hurt my commander in twain!

But when she is not meeting and greeting...

Queen Elara

My comrades, we're going to make history today. We're going for a new record. Perhaps the highest kill counts or the fastest clear for this map — it matters not. We’ve practiced day and night for this tournament, so let us show everyone that we’re not to be taken lightly! Also, the livestream is going in the royal archive, so make your successors proud!!

... she will be furiously grinding her character and training her skills in LmaO in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Spectators will see her bring her own team full of hapless palace attendants who are there to either serve as her practice match partners or provide support to the one-woman army that is Queen Elara.

PrismaPlace is packed with giant crowds, many of them also in cosplay. While the semi-finals are taking place, new and old LmaO players alike can participate in the game’s current campaign: players who form teams get an improved chance of spawning unique monsters as well as winning rare items and skins in those prized lootboxes! Teams can also try to clear the event’s story together, featuring an aerial battle fought on griffin-back, which is heavily inspired by the popular Lunatian epic, The Battle of Abraxas, a colorful and complex story about the conflict between two families fighting over the fictional land of griffins, Abraxas.

A Progression in the event requires acquiring a griffin mount and getting it ready for battle. You can lure a wild one to yourself with a special veggie pie on a fishing pole. Should the griffin reject the lure, your character will be caught in a wind gaol and can only break out with the help of other players. Should you succeed, raising the griffin is a tedious task that involves players training alongside their respective griffins, running laps with them, taking them to hunt monsters, and feeding them properly. Depending on their diet, the food you give them will affect the color of its plumage and their battle stats.

Or you can skip the hard work and simply moonlace with your teammates through all the progression bars and required materials to save time. Once finished, you’ll be able to battle one another through the thunderous aerial domain of Abraxas. Clearing the event will net you an event-exclusive skin inspired by the royal family’s shining celestial robes and a weapon skin of a body pillow with your favorite character, so do your best!

B In celebration of Queen Elara’s birthday, the office of the royal household is hosting a modest tea party in the Greatmoon Groves. Swiffy bots that are normally programmed to remind visitors to keep the groves clean are now playing a birthday jingle on repeat. For people who prefer to be away from the blinding neon lights and the thumping techno music of PrismaPlace, this is the ideal escape. Unlimited tea and cookies are being served!

The tea is a soft-colored lilac concoction made from Ehrysian tea leaves that are known to cause a huge spike of alertness and is popular to Moon Knights and office workers with long night shifts as well as gamers for those all-night grinding sessions. The assorted cookies have either Ah-Kari or Commander GareBear printed on them. In case it isn't obvious yet, both are the birthday girl’s favorite LmaO characters.

Any Moonblessed looking for extra income is welcome to be royal attendants for the day; the hours are paid by Demichroma. They must be properly dressed up as maids or butlers (outfits provided by the royal household) as they serve tables.

▶ Say Cheese
Level 3, Caihong | top

Meanwhile, Caihong is in the midst of Remooning festivities in celebration of the new year, and merriment usually lasts a fortnight, filled with fireworks in the sky. Upon entering the district, beautiful Prismals with rat ears and tails greet you with a Happy Remooning and eagerly tug you along to join in.

Those welcomed will receive a pack of multi-colored sparklers, mooncakes topped with cheese, and a glowing drink called Champagne Supernova, poured in a thin glass in your hand. If you are over eighteen, the rat Prismals will ask if you prefer your drink with a kick. If you say yes, then they will add flavorful ice that causes extreme intoxication and might leave you to be susceptible to all levels of suggestion. Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.

A One of the party games being played by the locals is called Lucky Tail, which is basically pinning the tail on the holographic rat stand-in — with a twist, it must be played with a partner! Another participant will blindfold you, spin you around, then push you forward. The stand-in is located at the end of unsteady elevated platforms forming a maze, filled to the brim with distracting objects underneath. They’re long, they’re thick, and they’re vibrating furiously in an attempt to knock you off the platforms.

Your partner must guide you by voice to successfully navigate through the maze! The game is rigged with various mechanisms, so stepping on specific platforms will activate a number of traps against you or your partner: machines that may tickle, drop colorful slime, or cause the platform to repetitively spin, and who knows what else?

Should you manage to get through the obstacle course and pin the tail successfully, you and your partner will win copious amounts of Demichroma, courtesy of Buwan from Buwan’s Stop.

B Another attraction is a fun magic glamour booth known for its face or body swap features. The booth staff, clad in their festive rat paraphernalia, will encourage you and your friends to take aesthetic shots using an illusion generator. The effects last an hour. Photographed images can be instantly uploaded and shared in Prismagram. New year, new you! Why not take the chance to celebrate this momentous occasion in a unique fashion? It’s all in good humor.

There are two buttons to press: (A) CUSTOM or (B) RANDOM. Pressing A will allow participants to customize their desired effects. Pressing B will cause the illusion magic to randomly rearrange participants in questionable positions, new outfits (or lack thereof), and you may even come out of the booth looking like your best friend or your worst rival. The possibilities are endless!

[She clears her throat, disguising a laugh, at his reply. So she's not the first one to tell him this? Then he must show this behaviour to so many. Painfully polite, self-reliant. And apparently, a little too helpful, considering that someone was about to put himself at the mercy of the crowds. This isn't a quest, they're just out to see festivities! Or explore. She's never seen him before, so she wonders why he's out.

A question for much later. He's not the only one who take tasks seriously. He said to follow him close, no? She shuffles behind him, head peeking out near his side.]

( Fortunately or unfortunately, the crowd for the Queen's birthday is inescapable no matter where in level 1 they seem to be, and she's just... trying to get home, honestly. It was a long day and there's a wee little pup in her (thankfully crush-proof) tote over her shoulder, and he's bumping his elbow back into her with a familiar set to his shoulders she sees often in her work.

All the right sounds are made, denials attempted, and Angela isn't someone who loses her temper or minds an elbow in the boob. Thankfully most of the Prismals know her by sight as one of the usual volunteers and the clinic owner for the Moonblessed, and she slips her free hand in under his bicep to help guide him sideways and allow her the space to squeeze past him, just enough to be seen by those in front of him. She doesn't look the type who can level her voice with such an edge to cut through protests, but here goes nothing: )

That's enough hassling people, now. You'll find others willing to take photos with you in the cafes. May we get through?

He took a deep breath and held it, trying to push down the feelings and stop the tears. He supposed it only made sense, he had no good recent encounters with armed members of the Lanling Jing Sect.]

He nodded slowly, this felt like something that should be talked about inside with tea and something warm to eat.]

[He felt he needed to at least clear that up. It had started with a night hunt....

[ Sizhui nods, then looks down for a moment. ]

[ And he holds out his hand to indicate the direction. He'd offer it for holding, but... in a bit. ]

[She's most likely not going to tell him anything about Cu! Unless he asks who else are here or something, it's not really her business to tell... They'd run into each other sooner or later for sure. Either way, Rin is from pretty early in her war but she has been around him. Even more here but that is none of his business. So yes, similarities are very easy to notice.

Being wary at first is good and a thing that Rin is doing too. Oh, so he noticed? Definitely a Servant then.]

[Thankfully while Jaune was waiting to take his turn he noticed the poor girl was having a hell of a time of it. Her partner was unfortunately not very good at this and she wasn't giving up despite everything.

After some respectful questioning and discussion with the people running the game as well as Natalia's partner he speaks up to where Natalia can hear.]

Um miss? I'm Jaune Arc, I saw your partner was having a hard time and asked if I could swap in to help you instead. Is that alright with you?

[He's used to a conga line of failures and he could see even from this distance Natalia wasn't having a good time.]

[He smiled softly at the idea and started waking in the direction indicated. It would be nice to see his sister again, it felt like it had been too long, though by his point of view not more than a few days at most.]

I wonder if e-everyone could come.... and, I am also gad to not... be d-dead....

But he wasn’t sure he should say anything in case he was wrong.]

[ An absent touch to the bracelets around her wrists, before she lowers her hands— just making certain that they're on properly, she shakes her head. ]

[ And sure enough, as she lifts her right hand to lift in front of his, there's the slightest lift of a fragrance— harmless, but telling, as she closes her eyes and summons, a small spell to draw the wet particles out of the fabric. It's a simple spell, one that requires the use of both the command of fire and water, and as she draws the offending liquid out, he may feel some warmth.
The liquid itself, gathers together into a bubble, now hovering before them, before she redirects it to one of the street drains, letting it slip in there. Splash, and it's gone. ]

There. I couldn't get rid of the scent and stain, but— it's dry enough, I hope...

[ She smiles as she looks up, finally getting a better look at him. He's handsome, but when is that new to a place like this? His eyes seem kind, though, and she's about to say something when—

"Aw, she dried him up! Boo, like! He looked better when wetter!"

A set of voices speaks from behind, and it's those rat prismals who had been following Kitsuno earlier, watching them from nearby. At least they don't seem to be intruding, but. Hearing such heckling unsettles her, even though she's gotten used to ignoring it.

She feels her cheeks burn, a little ashamed, and she turns to bow her head at Diarmuid. ]

Forgive me. I should go. They'll keep bothering you the longer I'm around.

[ That fragrance around her is probably not helping even if it doesn't have any of the effects that she would be bothered about around the Cordis moon. ]

[He visibly brightened at hearing of Wei Wuxian, how exciting! He had not seen him since they parted ways, since he insisted on such a terrible thing.... He had heard rumors since....

[ Sizhui shakes his head, then narrows his eyes slightly, eyeing the couple of options for food that they are approaching. He honestly doesn't know what his relative would like. Back at the Burial Mound they had all eaten what was available, with spicy whenever Xian-gege had gotten close to the cooking, but what would he like...

Well. Because of what he thinks happened last, Sizhui is guessing that he hasn't had much food recently in the first place. So he just picks the one with the better desserts. ]

I don't know how. There are a few we know here that there are two of. Maiden Jiang called them twins, and I suppose that is fitting? I think there are some differences, but I don't think it's really polite to ask...

Here. The chairs are strange, the food is also strange, but there should be plenty, and it's not bad.

[He does take a moment to detach his gaze from the man to the room, and all the latter has to offer. It is “normal”-looking enough, nicely furnished if not a bit spartan by way of no one actually living in it. But that is also of little concern to Sephiroth, who doesn’t exactly plan on throwing himself into the art of home decor once he finds a place to settle into a second time.

He has very little desires for a room beyond it merely being practical to live in, though he’s self-aware enough to understand that he’s adhered to a certain standard on Gaia before coming to another planet altogether. Still, it makes him wonder after the comment, and a brow threatens to lift by the smallest degrees.]

And where do you plan to retire when the day’s through? Turning down a private space is unusual even for those who don’t need the respite as much as others.

[ oh, thank god— a Master that seems willing to level with him. or, at the very least, one that cuts right to the chase. a similar brand of forthrightness that he saw in a young man back in his own war: a boy who couldn't have been much older than the girl in front of him right now, Diarmuid realizes.

the association is enough to temper his caution. it's nice, really, being disarmed by someone's so-called honesty. he'd like to think he can trust this, at any rate. ]

[It was not an uncommon ability of entities out there, spirits could sometimes guise themselves as others.

But, it was hard too say without seeing it. Everything was already strange, so having two of a person wasn’t completely Impossible. Especially if time had no baring.

It was a bit much to worry about so he let himself focus on where they currently were. It was all quite strange, but, he didn’t mind trying new things.]

[ Sizhui nods slightly, then he gets them settled and orders. At least three kinds of soup, to begin with, and then the three things with rice that he can see on the menu. That would be a start, right? ]

Suspicious would make sense in our world. But here, things are different. There are very few spirits, and they are very weak. And all of us being here is suspicious in the first place. But it's difficult to pretend to be young master Wei. He just... is. And the rest, well...

We'll just have to wait and see, right?

Twelve be damned - where am I! Marques could probably stand this but not me.

[ Cid was about to spend the next ten minutes being terribly unhappy as he’s had enough memory loss to last a life time and yet the protest dies in his throat as he realizes the kind of environment he’s in. This is a lab. Cid knows laboratories very well.

Now normally this would be completely unremarkable except he hasn’t realized he’s in the all together aka he’s got no clothes on.

Someone might wanna tell him when he’s not too busy trying to use all the tech here. ]

B) PrismaPlace

League Match Action Online... guess it’s like those sorts of things that Manderville probably would put loads of money in.

[ mutters Cid, mostly to himself. He’s less interested in playing the game and more interested in the tech behind it. Plus he’s too old for these sorts of shenanigans anyway. Crossing his arms, he takes several moments to watch someone completely engrossed in the action of the game. ]

Interesting feedback mechanisms they’ve got there.

[ Cid’s nodding and mentally taking notes, his arms crossed as he accounted for the way that players seemed to be really feeling the exertion and the pain of being winded by a fictional foe. ]

Wonder if we could make it less obnoxiously flashy and integrate it into an airship — Biggs and Wedge would love to get their hands on this.

[ Engrossed in his thoughts, Cid turns and accidentally walks straight into the person behind him. ]

Ahh, that’s the ticket!

[ Cid gulps the delicate cup of tea in one go, not really tasting it but hey - it’s delicious and refreshing. Plus it’s strangely invigorating. Sorry to whoever his table partner is, but he’s really just here for the free food. ]

I’m not one for this frou frou though.

[ he says, setting the cup back down onto the saucer with a not so delicate clink. ]

Never really could get at ease in this kind of setting.

[ Cid picks up the spoon and points to his companion. ]

[ okay, so she's been intergalactic-kidnapped to another planet (who hasn't?) and, sure, the economy of the place is kinda beyond futzed up. but none of it (none of it!) distresses her more than apparent rift between her two buds. kate can stomach a lot of disruption, yeah, but this might be one disruption too far.

—so she's sitting across from teddy at a cafe table, cupping an obnoxiously oversized coffee in both hands, and calmly bemoaning their new circumstances without straight-immediately talking about how twisted and weird it is that billy's already been here for months.

(and don't even get her started on tommy!)

kate takes a big gulp, sighs through the heat, and tips back in her chair. ]

Look. I'm just saying. There are worse planets to be on, right? We would know.

Curiosity brought her brought her in, wondering if it was a whole new game like the ones they played, LmaO or the random simulation VR games. This one, it seems to be other memories. Worlds? Hmm.

She looks around, a certain memory involves a field of flowers. So far so good? The scene flickers, and then it moves. Now to the front of a house. A figure in the distance. Something catching in the air.

Frowning, she turns to the closest voice. "I wonder, that if she does bite at all, if one could feel it in this universe." Memory.

[She'll rather get the war business out of the way as soon as possible, so cutting right to the chase is her way to go. As if that isn't always the case with her in some things but ...

Anyway. She is so blunt about it that maybe he can trust it but then again, it's not like Rin trusts anything or anyone here.]

[Rin's been around for a while, some months by now, she could possibly answer questions as she is sure he has many.]

Nothing wrong with being wary... [Only idiots wouldn't be and Rin is not that stupid.] I see. Well, I'm not the only Master here and it's possibly not uncommon for people from other worlds even to make pacts here to make that even more complicated or easy, however you want to call it... [She is not sure how many Servants and Masters are in this city, so keeping that vague.] You don't really need a Master here though. They bring Servants here randomly but all of those things they said about Chroma might as well be as if they were talking about all of the magical energy back where we came from.

[In other words; Chroma equals to mana here or well they need it to not run out of mana either, so he better be good at moonlacing and he'll be fine.]

[ Billy isn’t looking where he’s going. He’s distracted by his wrist device, trying to type out a text and walk at the same time. Which means he’s not looking up when he turns the corner and collides with someone else. He instinctually reaches out with a bit of magic to steady both of them as he looks up. ]

I’m so sorry, my faul- Teddy?

[ He was reaching out but as soon as he looks up he freezes. That’s. That’s his ex, although he’s not sure if Teddy knows that or if he’s from home. Where none of the terrible things he did to Billy in wonderland would even be fathomable. He feels torn in two. On one hand he loves this boy standing in front of him, on the other he can still feel the ghosts of his hands around Billy’s neck as he snaps it. That part is currently winning as he takes a step back. ]

When did you get here?

[Honestly, she was here only for the unlimited tea and treats. Did she care about whose birthday it was? Absolutely not. Once again, no loyalties to the people who rule this place. But it's nice to see friends here.

And...new people, or so it seems. She looks up as he puts the cup back down on his saucer. It's true, however, because she actually does look like she's done this forever.]

I was trained. [No, really, she was. Thanks big brother(s).] It gets easier in time. And there is a little motivation. [FREE FOOD AND TEA.]
