QUESTIONS MEME

THE QUESTIONS MEME

A first big 'n successful round of apps has concluded and the game is getting off to a roll - since there are always brains to be picked and new pals and acquaintances to be made, how's about we all play a little getting-to-know-you game?

HOW TO PLAY:
• Leave a comment below with your name and the characters who you play.
• Respond to others' comments with questions - they can be about their characters, their current in-game plans or things they'd like to play, their CR, RP in general, their canons and fandoms, or most anything else.
• Answer questions you've received! Keep it short or TL;DR to your heart's content, depending on how much you have or are in the mood to say!
• After each answer you give, ask a question back to the person who answered you. Keep the thread of questioning up for as long as both parties are game!
• Go for it - make friends, make new plans, make anything you like!

I have Midna. This Midna. Right here. That's all folks!

But have you seen my roster of red-eyed characters? Which... also includes Midna.

Prisma's cybernetic atmosphere and colour scheme is actually much of the reason I thought Midna to kind of fit in rather well. Unlike the bright world of Hyrule, we have this futuristic and glowing kind of world, which isn't completely different from what Midna's used to.

I've always kind of approached the 'being in Light' situation as Midna only being able to thrive directly in it for a period of time before she weakens and has to leave. I've never played a character with this kind of flaw before (in the midst of a variety of other flaws Midna possesses), and thus I find it a challenge to approach and really explore.

That might not fully come to pass in Prisma because its aesthetic is similar to the Twilight, but there's a world of possibilities here. I can't rule it out as being impossible. It's something I hope I get a chance to play around with, in a sea of many other things I would like to explore.

I've spent so long associating you with Yu from P4. What drew you to Ren? Also, have you played every P protagonist?

I came so close to tossing Riku at her in the intro log. How would Midna feel about a very twilight-y hero from a world of light?

Midna would be very interested to hear in another person's 'version' of Twilight, since the only Twilight she knows is hers.

While I'm familiar with Kingdom Hearts, I've only played 1 and 2 (though I have all of them except 2.8 at this point), so I'm a little more canon-blind than I'd like to be. (I'm not worried about spoilers at all, so no fear on that front. I'm not trying to avoid anything.)

I'd be very interested in Riku and Midna getting a chance to meet and share some things about what they've seen and experienced.

Which Kingdom Hearts has been your favourite and why? Which one helped you develop Riku the most, do you feel?

\o/

My favorite Kingdom Hearts game so far is probably a tossup between KH2 and and Dream Drop Distance - 2 had a lot of flaws but was also really fun and important to me and was the most recent game when I started playing Riku, and Dream Drop Distance because it was SUPER fun and exciting and had so much development for Riku in it.

Oddly, though, I think the games that have helped me develop Riku the most are Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, and KH3. DDD helped a lot, to be sure, but those three are the ones that gave me the most interesting breadcrumbs to work with? CoM in particular gave me Riku's weird sense of smell that I play with at every opportunity despite it never coming up in canon again.

What's your favorite thing about playing Midna?
envoyoftwilight: (we gave her most of our lives)

I completely forgot about CoM being a part of the series. I played the original one that was on... Advance, I think? Back when it was on the handheld. I haven't played the remade one yet.

I have heard from a couple of my friends that they found DDD to be a little stressful with the time limit between Sora and Riku (if I'm thinking of the correct game). The more I'm hearing, however, the more I'm realising I know almost next to nothing about KH and its characters, though back when KH2 came out, I played Demyx for a little bit and thought he was fun.

I've been playing Midna off and on for some years now. Why haven't I moved on? Who knows. I think what's really attracted me to her is this concept that she's not just a princess, but she has these other layers to her. I find complexity in her. She might be a princess, but she's not what I anticipate out of stereotypical royalty. She's not altruistic. She's not selfless. She tries to be a good leader, but she has a lot of flaws that make her not always suitable for the task.

If I start looking at historical dynasties and monarchies, there are some parallels with some complicated leaders, and I can appreciate that there's a sense of realism in Midna's character design. I also really appreciated the idea that we're shown how difficult it is to be a leader through the eyes of Midna. Shes' a bit entitled, yes, but in learning her struggles of dealing with this implied insecurity that she couldn't protect her people. Again, it comes down to this touch of realism that I appreciate. To me, Midna feels like if you take all of the obvious magical realm and abilities away, she could pass for a real person in terms of her flaws and characteristics.

If you weren't playing Riku, who would you be playing? (If this isn't applicable, then what drew you to Riku to begin with? As in, what made you choose Riku over the other extensive cast of characters? Alternatively, you can answer all of these.)

If I wasn't playing Riku, I'm not sure who, if anybody, I would be playing. Riku's really just the one who speaks to me the most - I have a HUGE soft spot for characters like him. Penitent antiheroes, Dark Is Not Evil, tsundere/kuudere soft boys who are devoted to the people they love... he just hits SO MANY of my buttons.

_(┐「ε:)_♡♡♡ Midna!!

Is there any part of this game's world that you're interested in having Midna explore?
envoyoftwilight: (she breaks down and cries)

Oh, gosh. I could just easily cop out and say everything, but that's too easy.

I think at the current point of time, Midna is just treating her adventure like a vacation. With that in mind, I don't think she quite cares about the science divisions yet (though I do, as a player). As storyline progresses for all of us, that may very well change, however.

Right now, the expensive luxuries in Level 1 seem like a good place to start. What entitled princess doesn't want to look at things that she so obviously deserves? (Because, you know, why should Midna have to work for anything, right.) This kind of ties into a bunch of this development that I eventually want to do with Midna's personal evolution as an individual.

There are, in truth, so many different things I want Midna to get involved with. She's not really high on combat prowess, though certainly not lacking in power when she does need to step in. For starters, she'll be involved in the more passive excursions, but again, as time progresses, I'll be interested in having her nose poke into a little bit of everything, including the danger.

I feel like character choice might answer this question for me, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Which your FE game is your favourite? Also, if you want a little more 'homework,' rank your top three FE games and tell me why they're ranked the way they are.
