You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B Your new flat is covered in a sprinkling of feathers here, there, and everywhere! They appear to be coming through the air vents. This seems to be a city-wide problem in all buildings, as many news outlets are informing people to stay alert. They believe the feathers are from the masked seraphim, King Majestas, who attacked the Elaran Amphitheater a few weeks back.

You are advised to destroy the feathers on sight. Prolonged contact with these feathers cause hallucinations and paranoia. You will feel as if winged creatures are always after you, be it one-winged angels or dark-winged ducks. Other side effects include hearing the chanting of voices in an indecipherable language out of this galaxy. These hallucinations may cause headaches, dizziness, or nausea. Thankfully, a bit of moonlacing will heal these symptoms away.

With the Coiled Hearts Festival fast approaching, local fishermen have already begun procuring food across Crystal Beach’s clear waters to meet next month’s demands. Around this time of year, the popularity of octopus dishes dramatically rises. The Lunatians have an annual tradition to prepare flavorful octopus dishes for the romantic season, such as the much-lauded dark chocolate-coated octopus or the mouth-watering octopus braised with red wine.

Everyone is welcome to join this heart-throbbing affair. During the Second and Third months, everyone is encouraged to give your loved ones something special for a long, successful relationship. Friends, family, and new acquaintances are traditionally given a small amount of Demichroma in tiny cute cases, while lovers are given something that reminds the gifter of their homeland.

A Interested in catching your own octopus? Horned taurus octopi very frequently migrate to the shorelines to perform their elaborate mating rituals. It’s easy to find clumps of taurus octopi participating in a vigorous dance, filled with undulations and strange moaning noises that octopi should not be making. You can lure the octopi by either using a special flute which mimics their moans to gather them in heavy droves. It’s ideal to have a partner with you to scoop the octopi quickly into water containers once they’ve become entranced enough.

Play the flute carefully! If the taurus octopi grow too excited by your music, they will squirt white ink. If you are spritzed with the thick substance, you will start either randomly puking or uncontrollably secreting a milky sweet substance from any body part that secretes liquids. Luckily, the high-end boutique Prissy Polyp is nearby in case you need a change of clothes due to any sizable stains. Effects will naturally wear off after an hour.

B Come with a friend and enjoy learning some octopus recipes together. The Crystal Beach Resort has opened a seminar where several professional chefs will be demonstrating and teaching how to cook various dishes of different flavors and ingredients guaranteed to impress your date, and taste-testing is free!

One dish makes use of horned taurus octopi skin as the star ingredient, renowned for its irresistibly delectable scent. The chefs explain the palatable skin is a potent ingredient in various love potions and aphrodisiacs, so add or mix them to your dishes in moderation! The effects have a significant delay, so you may feel fine for a while, but when it hits, it hits hard. You will become enamored with every little thing — hey, you just met them and this is crazy — but that person’s smile, the sound of their voice, or the way they say your name will make you unable to resist the urge to shower them with your affection.

Level 2, Moonlight Medical Center | top

“Help Wanted” posters can be found on virtual forums and announcement boards across Level 1 to 3. The Moonlight Medical Center has put out a call for volunteers due to a recent shortage of medical staff. The work involves filling in for overworked nurses, performing tasks such as feeding patients their meals, wiping away their sweat, changing their clothes, encouraging their spirits, and so on. Any volunteers may directly walk-in at the hospital. You will be provided a nurse uniform and any necessary equipment while on the job.

The shortage has resulted from the hospital recently taking in a severe number of patients from a nearby small village to the west of Lunatia, Port Sylvel, a known shipping and freight destination. The number of patients worryingly keeps on rising by the day and will soon fill all available rooms.

A Some of the patients are experiencing varying degrees of paralysis. The worst cases have crystallizing parts of their body. The hospital staff will stress that you should be careful around patients with crystallized limbs. Patients like these have a history of aggressively biting anyone who comes close hard enough to draw blood. Those bitten will exhibit similar symptoms as the victims, including crystallization on their bodies, and experience a steady drop in Chroma. An uncomfortable heaviness will cause you unable to move without the aid of others as well as an uncontrollable urge to aggressively bite someone.

While affected Moonblessed can cure it by moonlacing, the Prismals can only be cured by a gluteal inoculation the Lunar Scientia has recently managed to develop. The sick and beleaguered will probably hate you less if you aren’t the one trying to stabbing them with injections in the hindquarters.

B Aside from nursing duties, other available tasks to be completed include making coffee for fellow nurses and doctors, delivering flowers to patients, and general housekeeping. Specifically, disinfecting medical equipment, tidying up rooms, and cleaning the spaces around the hospital. As a result of the current situation, many crystal shards can be found decorating multiple surfaces, such as floors, walls, toilet seats, and so on. These will have to be swept away!

However, as your work day progresses, some of the shards can be seen suddenly moving on their own. These crawling shards will start clustering together to turn into elaborate, floating monolithic formations that will then begin attacking anyone nearby. Their main ability includes shooting diamond spears to impale any unfortunate victims in their line of sight. In the midst of the chaos, nurses and doctors will beg the Moonblessed to please protect the sick and wounded. The crystal formations can be destroyed by any method, though because of their incredibly sturdy composition, they require multiple hits before they shatter into dust.

His heart swells at the sight of Wei Wuxian running toward him. The very man he’s been mourning is now before him once more. In spite of the oddness of the situation, whatever danger might be present, all he can do is pick up his pace until they all but crash into each other, Wangji’s arms winding protectively around him. Of course, he has to drop his umbrella to properly embrace Wei Wuxian, but it won’t be forgotten for long. Just long enough to assure himself that Wei Ying is flesh and bone and very much real.

The familiar feeling of Lan Wangji's arms around him was instantly calming, even with the feather still stuck to his hair he could never not feel safe in Lan Zhan's embrace. His familiar smell and the way he held him close was always reassuring no matter the situation.

He snaked his arms around and clung tightly. Despite the wealth of affection and relief that filled him at the moment he still had room to tease however.

"Lan Zhan, you're late," it was only a mild pout and he knew it was unreasonable to expect him to have found him sooner. After all, he had only realized the man was here as well recently! But, despite that he could not help himself.

It wouldn’t be Wei Ying if he didn’t joke around. Wangji holds firm for a long moment before it occurs to him… Does this Wei Ying remember…? He leans back slightly to peer down at his fated one then finally loosens his hold to retrieve the umbrella. Once under it’s shelter, he plucks the feather from Wei Wuxian’s hair.

“I have missed you.”

It was as if a weight was lifted from him the moment the feather was removed. The world was brighter and the sounds a d fluttering shadows at his peripheral vision went away. It was almost shocking that he had not noticed that dread settling in and that he was under the influence of something else.

However he doesn't dwell on it for long, instead he looked up and grinned, leaning heavily to force Lan Wangji to support his weight.

"Did you have to wait long?" He had run into his Shijie not too long before and had a general idea of things. Even though he really wanted to cause mischief, this matter was something he could take seriously.

Or at least mostly seriously, teasing would never be fully removed.

"If you waited too long you can punish me."

It’s easy enough for him to support Wei Wuxian with one arm. Trying to get him to walk is another issue. It would be best to get out of these feathers, so he guides Wei Wuxian along the street, in the direction of their home. Sizhui and the others will be happy to see him again.

How dare Wei Wuxian say something like that to Lan “horny on main” Wangji. They’re especially effective considering how long they’ve been parted (at least on Wangji’s side). The only outward sign of a reaction is the tell-tale reddening of his ears.

“Mark your words,” he warns in a low tone.

Of course he dared, he always dared! And it got the reaction he had wanted to see. He can’t help but focus in, trying to specifically look at Lan Wangji’s ears and laugh a little when he can see they are red. He a loved it, he loved teasing him to cause it and then look for the signs.

He doesn’t drag his weight for too long, he easily walks beside, though he is clinging still, how can he not cling? This was just too much fun. It must have been too long however judging how quickly and effective his words had been.

“Have I ever not?” He crooned back. “And since it seems to have been too long I will take punishment. Ah, but what kind Lan Zhan? You could easily tie me up, but I fear such a thing alone my not be enough. You could force me to kneel in front of you, at your mercy, of course my clothes are gone and I am appropriately bound and vulnerable.”

If it had been difficult to judge what he did and did not remember, the unabashed dirty narration was probably a give away.

“You could force me to service you, or, as a proper scolding bend me over,” there is nothing but joy in his tone.

Well, that answers the question of what Wei Ying remembers about their relationship. Even at his most audacious imitations of Mo Xuanyu, Wei Wuxian wasn’t so brazenly filthy. As much as he would like to take him home immediately and have his way with his husband, there were some matters to be discussed, first.

“Wei Ying, I must warn you about this place.” All business despite what’s going on under his pristine white robes.

Something akin to a frown pulls at his features and he tries to figure out where to begin.

“There are many strange goings-on regularly.” He nods toward the rain of feathers sprinkling down around them.

Ah, serious time. He listened carefully and then glanced around at the feathers. He had run into a few curious items before as well, and then the introduction had also been an experience.

"Then that means it will never be dull," and though it sounded like he wasn't taking it seriously at all, he did consider it. But, if it was something that couldn't be helped, wasn't it better to look to a more positive light? After a while you have to get used to it and as long as you understand what to watch out for, even the strangest potential event can be properly managed.

“There are times when others act… strangely. Influenced by one of the three moons.”

Listen, this is important so Wangji’s willing to spend more than a few words on it.

“There are transformations, changes in thought, unforeseeable dangers…” He’s seen much in his time in Lunatia. Getting used to the light and noise of the city was difficult for him, even harder given something occurring nearly every month, be it a festival or some bizarre creatures to battle.

Then, he thinks to add, “You were here before, but did not remember our marriage.”

He nodded listening carefully. He did always listen, even if it seamed like he didn't, and perhaps threw out some of what was said later. But here he was listening properly and remembering. It was important to know about new places, and if Lan Zhan was being so serious about it he had to also be serious. Some of it was more or less what was explained, and a little that he had heard from Jiang Yanli.

"Shijie mentioned that, I had run into her no long ago," it must have been difficult....

Without warning he hugs Lan Wangji, it wasn't a cling this time and it wasn't being a playful brat either. It was a lot more tender.

"I'm sorry," even if it wasn't 'him' he felt he had to say it. "I know I don't have to say it, but still."

When you hurt people deeply you have to say it and it felt like this situation was an outlier to their daily lives and understandings. Which did remind him....

"What is the last thing you remember before here?"

Lan Wangji startles at the unexpected hug, but easily relaxes against Wei Ying’s embrace. If anyone should be apologizing, it’s Lan Zhan. Due to the nature of the relationship between himself and the previous Wei Ying, well… he hasn’t exactly kept their vows sacred. He quickly learned that that’s the nature of this place.

“I remember everything. The search for our dear friend, the second siege, our marriage… the Mo incense burner.”

What matters is he remembers that Wei Ying is his. He doesn’t expect to keep him all to himself – though he would like to – but he hopes they can come to some accord as they’d had before. That is best discussed at home, in private.

“What do you remember?”

Oh the innocence burner! That was fun! Mostly.

He hummed to himself thinking about it. "We came back from Yunmeng with our prizes not too long ago. I love how that ugly thing looks in your lesson room."

So they were most likely on the right page, though he had no concept of this place while Lan Zhan did.

He stopped a moment to look around, it really was a strange place. How long had he been here?

"What is it like here? How long have you been here? How long was the other me been gone?" Tell him everything, he doesnt want to be in the dark.

A barrage of questions, how very like Wei Wuxian. It’s as if his mind cannot stay on just one thing for any length of time. It’s enough to bring a softness to the hard edges of his expression.

What is it like here? Strange. Noisy. Bright at all hours.

“Bizarre,” he opts to explain. Between the native Prismals who resemble animals to the influence the moons have on the so-called moonblessed (people like them) and all the other odd goings-on, bizarre is the only apt word to describe the place.

“I have been here for seven months. Wei Ying gone for about a fortnight.” One might think it had been months from the way Wangji pines. But, it was a hard seven months, trying to get the previous Wei Ying to recall the feelings Lan Zhan knew he held.

Seven months!? That really was a long time. But, it didn't sound like his other self had been gone that long, but considering the little he already knew he could take a small guess that there must have been difficulties.

"What did I remember?" though he was pretty sure the answer was not enough. No doubt... he was inadvertently cruel to him again. He had been so excited for the things he had lost, he had failed to think how difficult it would be to have to work towards something you already gained, again.

“Much less. Just escaped Jinlintai. After Jin Guangyao revealed hi– your identity.”

So there was much between them that hadn’t yet happened. And while Wei Ying indulged him, he hadn’t yet accepted his own feelings for Lan Zhan in his heart. It was… difficult.

“To keep from hurting each other, we established rules.”

"What sort of rules?" he found himself asking without thought, he didn't really need to hear them. They didn't matter. But, the desire to know more had rushed through first without care. What an annoying place to be from! Though he had personal ideas of what should have been done to solve it, he doubted his own self would have appreciated it at the time and Lan Zhan would never have done them.

“Rules governing how we interact with others.” It’s simple and to the point. He hopes it explains that the previous Wei Wing was not ready to commit to a monogamous relationship. Given the nature of this place, it’s almost unavoidable. But it was an agreement they came to together, which made the rules easy for each of them to follow.

Of course. It would make sense. Seven months was a lot and an awkward situation. Rules to figure themselves out were important especially regarding others. The nature of this place probably causes more issues in that regard.

What can he say to that? He really didn't need to ask or know, and now he felt awkward.

Still, he tried to hide it behind a smile, moving forward would make the moment disappear, right? Though, for a change he was at a loss of words for a bit too long.

"Lan Zhan, tell me more about," what you have been doing? No. Not now. "This place... uh, the people here! Who is here? Shijie told me a bit, there are others that are similar and different right? Have you met them? It's alright if you haven't," it was as if he were trying to make up for the awkward silence he had inadvertently created.

The awkwardness doesn’t trouble Wangji. It’s an awkward situation to begin with. Wangji nods once, accepting the change in subject without hesitance.

“Yes. There is another Wangji, younger. Brother here is different. Two of Jiang Cheng, one younger. Another of you, younger. Two of Wen Ning and Jin Ling. Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, Ouyang Zizhen, and one of the Wen Nings lives with us. Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang have doubles, as well. Nie Huaisang is here, Chifeng-zun just arrived. Jin Guangyao is also here. As are two Jin Zixuan.”

That’s a lot of words for Wangji, but he rattles off the names easily.

“I have met a few of them. There are others from worlds similar to ours.”

Too many people. Too many doubles of people that one is already too much.

It was a bit overwhelming.

"It sounds like such a bother," he can figure it out later, mostly he was curious about the doubles that were closest.... "But, I have to know, what are we like? It's hard not to be curious about someone similar but different, right?"

“They are younger versions of us. Lan Wangji is ten years my junior. Wei Wuxian even younger. I have met both, briefly.” Nevermind that hot and heavy make-out session with the younger Wei Wuxian when he was under the control of another. They’ve spoken since, but Wangji keeps to himself. Not his Wei Wuxian, not his business. There is much going on of which he’s unaware, but the juniors seem to have a finger on the pulse of goings-on among them.

He nods slowly, and definitely is having thoughts about it. There is a glimmer in his eyes that screams mischief as he listens.

"I want to meet them," dangerous.

“I can make the introduction.”

He clasped his hands together excitedly before taking Lan Wangji's arm and leaning against it. "You're so good at these things," and not telling him no.

Why should he deny a simple request such as a meeting? Wangji keeps the umbrella poised above them, ushering Wei Wuxian along as the other clings to his arm.

“Mm.”
