Good question!

But for icons: there are two versions of Brotherhood Greed (plus his Ultimate Shield) and I’m not sure how to handle that, icon-wise. Like, if I don’t use the extra icon extension and don’t upgrade the account, I’ll basically have 15 icons for a dude with 3 appearances. So I’ll have to either commit to a canonpoint or make a second account so I can have icons for both canonpoints.

And I’m not sure how to handle this.

I mean, the Greed 1.0 canonpoint choice would be easier on everyone if a Ling apps but also... who knows?

I might find myself wanting a canonpoint that’s Greed 2.0/Greeling once I’m done watching the series.

It sounds like a tough decision. If you're concerned about letting a potential Ling app, I would ask the mods what they would think about GreedLing before making your decision in case that might influence it. They are two separate characters, but with them sharing the same body, I'm sure that complicates things.

My Ed is from the Briggs arc, so he would recognize both of them if that helps you any. (Hopefully it doesn't make it harder for you to choose!)

In the end, it might be best to go with which version you think you would enjoy the most.

Well, then, I guess I’ll just leave the icons question pending till I finish the series, and then either:

a) choose which Greed I want immediately then

b) make another account, and voicetest and TDM both versions from different accounts in order to decide which one I like best. It’s my solution for the slightly different situation of Alpha and Epsilon Church from Red vs. Blue who, unlike the two versions of Greed, count as different characters for apps in most games.

c) bite the bullet and just buy a paid account

d) have one account, leave out the Ultimate Shield icons, and have half Greed 1.0 icons and half Greeling icons

e) do the extra icons extension trick
