You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

The recent torrential rains and showdown with the Viergian Queen Tempeste have shifted the sands of Crystal Beach and dredged up seaweed and flotsam from below. The slight mess coupled with the seasonal transition into fall makes for a quieter beach and a more open space, if you pick the right time of the day.

Kazuma Kuwabara (

machizumo), one of Lunatia's Moonblessed, has done his best to pick the right moment. He's saved up his energy -his Chroma- as best as he’s been able to, and he's decided that he's going to give busting out of Prismatica a shot. He's not sure how good his odds are, but there are odds. While Kuwabara is only but a human fighter who won't really be able to stack up against the demons that he normally keeps in his company, he does have one thing that nobody else he's heard of has... the ability to slice through dimensions!

It's not easy to summon, but he manages it, reflecting on his home and how to best reach it, how to potentially help others reach theirs. It's just past dawn when a large, clean tear in reality rises up along the atmosphere just above the mostly deserted beach, as though the scenery were made of fabric being met with sharp scissors. Beyond the tear is a swirling vortex of color and more.

What more means, Kuwabara doesn't personally get to discover. His energy is expended almost instantaneously, and he grows solidly crystallized before he hits the ground. The rest of it... that's for Prismatica and the Moonblessed around to discover.

B The dimensional tear gives way to several more multicolored tears all across the planet. These strange rips have a strong gravitational pull that is near impossible to outrun. Find yourself close to one, and you may be pulled inside before you can even think to escape.

What’s on the other end? Inside, you find a scene of Prismatica ten years into the future, and the world is significantly more advanced. It is a time of great prosperity. The planet has been completely restored, flourishing with new life. Ten years' worth of memories flood your mind, and you have settled so deep into the culture and the world that you now think of yourself as a true-blue Prismatican. Maybe you have a good job. Maybe you have a spouse and three kids. Maybe you still think about home from time to time. Maybe you wouldn’t mind staying here with your loved ones. Hey, a lot can happen in ten years.

▶ Fire and Brimstone
09/08 | Dimensional Tears | top

Not every dimensional tear leads to paradise. Some may pull you deep into the flames of a dying world, during the Calamity centuries ago. The first to greet you is King Majestas, his visage sitting on top of a throne built over a mound of crystallized bones. He fondly strokes his beautiful satyr lover, Lunae, as he encourages you to explore the vast wasteland. Attacking him is useless as he will disappear with Lunae after saying his piece.

C All Chroma has evaporated, and everything is covered in an endless diamond sheen. In the distance, you hear the screams of people dying and the constant sounds of crystals being ground up.

Eventually, shadows appear before your eyes. Possessing crystal horns and a crystal tail, these devil shadows are consumed by your worst sin and will not hesitate to hurt you and those around you. The slothful can put others to sleep and soon ravage them in their slumber, the lustful can awaken the darkest taboo desires in you, and so on. No matter what your worst sin is, the shadows will thoroughly enjoy committing vile acts until you submit yourself to them.

▶ Closing the Gap
09/09 - 09/10 | top

A day or two after the dimensional tears start appearing, Lunar Scientia announces that they have finished analyzing the mysterious rifts and will proceed to seal them after rescuing the missing Moonblessed. They will be calling for the Moon Knights and any remaining Moonblessed volunteers to grab some dimension sealing equipment. Yes, you read that right. The tears will be sealed shut in nearly the same way one would vacuum seal food for extra freshness.

D These dimension sealers are not just any ordinary vacuums. They require an excessive amount of Chroma to power. Just hugging one person alone won’t cut it. Prolonged awkward and uncomfortable hugs with at least two or three different Moonblessed will do the trick.

The Lunar Scientia will suggest setting up camp with your chosen partners and dimension sealers near a dimensional tear. Spooning is naturally the most optimal of positions. The longer you moonlace and the more people you engage in contact with, the higher the effectiveness of the dimension sealers. A meter on the device will indicate when it’s ready to be activated, but beware of the sinful shadows from Prompt C trying to stop you from sealing the rifts.

Once the holes are sealed and everyone is rescued, the Lunatian government and mainstream media stations will start issuing friendly PSAs on all the public access networks about the dangers of cutting holes through the fabric of their universe.

That sounds good. I'm pretty easy going.

[ Wow they're learning about each others preferences outside of BS. That's so exciting!! But he will dutifully follow Do-yoon. ]

[ Do-yoon smiles. He always got the sense that Gyu-hyuk put others before himself, so he's not surprised. Instead he leads them further down the hall, to an apartment that reads "Vacant" and opens the door.

This one is mostly red and blue, with black furniture and a simple entryway for taking off your shoes. It's hard to see too far in, but it's not a studio, so that's promising. ]

Should we take a look around?

Sure, this one looks promising.

[ He slips off his shoes, staring at them for a long moment before saying anything or moving. He's lost in thought, of course, about them, about all of this. Time seemed to move so slowly when they were trapped. And now, being here, it seems to move twice as fast. ]

It's strange, all of these clothes we don't own. We'll have to be in charge of ourselves again.

[ Do-yoon does much the same, unlacing his boots as he slips out of them. It's true, all of his wardrobe, from his stage outfit to their clothes backstage had been hand-picked by the BS staff. They needed to be "on" for the cameras at all times, or they'd risk getting cut from the show.

It's strange to think that the longest they'd been off-camera was likely when they were in the crumbling stage, fretting for their lives with a killer on the loose. Scary, is more like it, but it almost doesn't seem real now that they're so far away. ]

Yeah... [ What would happen to Buried Stars...? That's a thought for another time. Has he really been on the show so much that he was worried about that? ] I kind of like the thought of that, actually. I miss buying my own clothes... it'll be nice to wear what I want.

[ Not that he minds his "betrayer" look too much. He might keep the hair, actually. ]

It's been a long time since I've seen you in anything you picked out for yourself.

[ He starts to go investigate the apartment -- it does indeed have two rooms at least. ]

I think I put all my old stuff into storage.

[ Even the clothes they slept in was chosen... Well, it'll be a huge relief to not have to worry about that anymore. Do-yoon steps away to investigate the kitchen -- everything looks pretty new, actually. It's nice. There's even a rice cooker. ]

I used to put a lot more effort into my make-up before. Masquerade had that kind of look.

[ Should he go for that again? Much as it might be familiar, he knows now that it's not going to win him general appeal. It's hard to balance, considering he really did want to further his career, before all this started. ]

The long hair was a hassle, I think I'll leave it short.

Maybe you can teach me how to do makeup sometime.

[ He's not completely useless, he can do a little, but just not to the extent of how nice they'd made him look for BStars. ]

They're nice. It's simple furniture like the rest of it. There's a bathroom on each side.

Ah well, he walks back to the entrance and checks the nameplate on the door. There really does seem to be a spot to scan your communication device, so he gives that a whirl and sure enough, his name appears on the plate. ]

[ Our fearless leader, Do-yoon, at it again. Gyu-hyuk scans his and ta da, there we go. His name is there, right next to Do-yoon's. ]

[ Gyu-hyuk's approval and joy fill him with those sweet positive sanity points. He really feels like he can do anything when he's around him... ]

Cool. That means it's official then.

[ He smiles. Yes, our fearless leader... who's taking a break from the crime-solving to find a cute apartment with his boyfriend. Er. Best friend? Close... male friend... whose life he saved and who makes him feel warm and cozy. ]

We're officially roommates.

[ Do-yoon holds out his hand to shake. ~~And they were roommates. Oh my god, they were roommates....~~ ]

[ Close male friend, yes, that sounds right.

Gyu-hyuk passes on the hand shake, though, and instead pulls him into a hug, as you do, with all of your male friends. ]

[ Oh, a hug....... that's way better. And it gives him a lot more moonlacing contact, which, for a full-body hug, is pretty damn great. Do-yoon hugs back, giving Gyu-hyuk a firm squeeze. Honestly... after everything they went through, a hug like this is more than just a hug. Do-yoon takes a deep breath, exhaling with a shudder as he melts into Gyu-hyuk's strong arms.

Being here is proof that they're okay. That they made it out of that hell, somehow. Together. So, you know, this hug might go on for a little while longer. He didn't realize how much he needed this. ]

I should be thanking you.

[ That's perfectly alright with him. He's happy to support Do-yoon, and the warmth of moonlacing is pretty nice, too. They'll be able to afford dinner tonight! Good for them. ]

It sounds like we're just going to end up going in circles. I'm just...so glad, to be here with you. It's such a relief.

[ Do-yoon lets it go on for a while longer before easing up. They can definitely do this moonlacing thing, see? If they keep going like this, he'll be able to afford a new bass in no time. ]

[ He's so warm. All of this feels so nice. He doesn't want to lose this, he doesn't want to lose Do-yoon. Maybe being in Lunatia wouldn't be so bad, after all. And even if they have the moonlace...he certainly wouldn't mind hugging Do-yoon more. ]

We probably need some basic supplies. I can go to the store in a little bit.

[ Mostly, he just wants to keep active. He feels like if he stops moving, if he lets into how ridiculously tired he feels, he'll just start thinking about everything that happened and how scared they all were. It's too much for him right now.

He realizes he has to sleep eventually, but if he can keep putting it off, if he can just keep going a little longer, then maybe that'll make it easier. ]

[ That's honestly a fair assessment. Between the mess at the BStars stage and waking up on an entirely different planet, they haven't really had a chance to let everything come crashing down. The hug had been nice, but Do-yoon would understand if Gyu-hyuk needs some more time to himself. ]

Do you want me to come with you? We can carry things together.

[ He definitely wouldn't get why he'd need to keep running himself ragged, but everyone responds to stress differently, right? In Do-yoon's case, he is still trying not to think about everything, so he's happy to keep busy too. He probably won't sleep well tonight, either..... ]
