I'm not sure "knock 'em dead" is an appropriate phrase for this conversation given the options. Maybe it's too appropriate? I trust you'll catch my meaning.
You flatter ME. Not that I'll turn down praise, of COURSE.
[He hasn't been called a genius most of his life and been top of his class for nothing, after all.]
Here I've chosen to mostly pursue my interest in the occULT, as the nature of this world opens up many opportunities I wouldn't otherwise have back HOME. And there are quite a few others from my world here alrEADY, idols as WELL, so I felt that I would better make a name for myself by taking a different PATH.
I'm half youkai. I was born and raised in Japan in a settlement belonging to a global organization that welcomes the preternatural and deals in affairs concerning them.
Japan is my locality and what I specialize in broadly, but I had the benefit of being exposed to a good bit of the supernatural and occult found the world over.
Half youkai? That's quite intrigUING. So was this organization affiliated with world governments and you did work on their behALF?
Not that I'm expecting you to divulge all of your secRETS, I'm simply curiour for professional reaSONS.
[After all "global organization" could mean a great many things. He's witnessed his mother work in the dissolving of many cults through the years and they regularly mask themselves as many things. Not that he doubts the claims at all, since he also does know no less than two vampires and another idol who is worshiped as a god.]
It's OK. I don't mind speaking a little on the subject. I did introduce it, after all.
[ Were she back on Earth and the individual spiritually insensitive and, or simply close minded, she'd have exercised reserve, but here on Prismatica, it's a little different. ]
The Fellowship of the Hand is a mercenary organization. There are many orders, guilds, and organizations who work in a similar vein whose reach may be limited due to number, bureaucracy, and all sorts of red tape stemming from many things including belief and tradition. The Hand bypasses this and our open door policy with regards to various preternatural beings extends our possible clientele, so we are called upon by human and preternatural alike. No organization or government owns the Hand, but they may call upon agents with whom they may contract to see some objective achieved. We have branches the world over.
MercenARY? I see... Since you have connections with all walks of life and access to a wide variety of skillsets I'm sure that you're kept quite BUSY. Especially since I'm sure that since you don't hold allegiance to a specific special interest group it is very easy to remain disCREET.
I see. So is being here a welcome vacation or do you feel as though your potential is wasTED?
You're correct that it ISN'T. Of course there are plenty of people equally worthy of being considered "geniuses" or "special", but unlike many I have both ambition and an open MIND.
The latter. I'm also gainfully employed in what I suppose you could call a more regular sort of job interwoven with certain other facets of Hand work that keeps me busy back home. It's too slow here, too quiet.
[ But those are things she can appreciate in a person... provided they aren't turned against her, that is. Even then in some cases. Still, hm. ]
All terrible things to waste. I imagine you'll go quite far in your pursuits.

But no matter how many faces you decide to treat, I think this sounds like a decision for your gut instinct.

In the end words are only as fitting to a situation as the listener allows them to BE. That said I do understand your intENT.

But you don't have to answer. I'm sure if I were to look, a person like that would stand out in Lunatia's music scene.

That's certainly admirable. How's it going so far? You could say I have a vested interest in the "other" qualities of the various worlds myself.
[ To say the least. ]
no subject
Is that SO? And where does that interest come FROM?

How familiar are you with the legends and tales of youkai, spirits, and gods?

I hope SO. It would be both a disappointment to myself and to those who I attempt to prove myself worthy of standing beside if I were to fall SHORT.

You've got some spirit.
