You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B As a Remooning gift from the Lunar Scientia Headquarters, the dedicated team from the Amphoria Room has released their latest perfected technology: Amphoria Pods. These VR Pods, which can fit up to four people at a time, have been set up in the gaming hub within Level 1’s PrismaPlace. They allow users to upload sceneries of their world in order to create a realistic holographic landscape of their homes that others can access and play around with, granting everyone the means to relive past memories with their loved ones as well as interact with the bestiary of other worlds. The pods also use the same technology that enhanced the popular virtual game, League Match Action Online (LmaO), which means you’re liable to feel the chill of cold environments, the burning heat from boiling water, the hard slap of your ex-lover, or the biting sting of a stray wasp. All who use the Amphoria Pods for the first time this year will also receive a small amount of Chroma in case things get too real.

▶ God Save Us from the Queen
Level 1, PrismaPlace and Level 2, Greatmoon Groves | top

The first month of the year is packed with two of the most important winter events this season: Queen Elara’s birthday and the League Match Action Online (LmaO) PVP semi-finals. It just so happens that the Queen of Lunatia is also a huge LmaO fan. Coincidence? Definitely not! LmaO players and royal family fans alike can meet her at PrismaPlace, where she will be appearing in cosplay of her favorite hero, Ah-Kari, while holding a body pillow of Commander GareBear. You, too, can get an autograph or selfie with the birthday girl if you’re willing to fall in line! Her bodyguards will also be in LmaO cosplay, keeping the crowd under control during the long wait.

Good day to you all! This may come as a surprise to our guests the Moonblessed, but I am a normal person despite my exalted position. Please do not think of me today as Queen Elara. Instead... my name is Ah-Kari, sorceress of the crystal! With my soul fan blades, through the darkness, I shall slice all who dare hurt my commander in twain!

But when she is not meeting and greeting...

Queen Elara

My comrades, we're going to make history today. We're going for a new record. Perhaps the highest kill counts or the fastest clear for this map — it matters not. We’ve practiced day and night for this tournament, so let us show everyone that we’re not to be taken lightly! Also, the livestream is going in the royal archive, so make your successors proud!!

... she will be furiously grinding her character and training her skills in LmaO in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Spectators will see her bring her own team full of hapless palace attendants who are there to either serve as her practice match partners or provide support to the one-woman army that is Queen Elara.

PrismaPlace is packed with giant crowds, many of them also in cosplay. While the semi-finals are taking place, new and old LmaO players alike can participate in the game’s current campaign: players who form teams get an improved chance of spawning unique monsters as well as winning rare items and skins in those prized lootboxes! Teams can also try to clear the event’s story together, featuring an aerial battle fought on griffin-back, which is heavily inspired by the popular Lunatian epic, The Battle of Abraxas, a colorful and complex story about the conflict between two families fighting over the fictional land of griffins, Abraxas.

A Progression in the event requires acquiring a griffin mount and getting it ready for battle. You can lure a wild one to yourself with a special veggie pie on a fishing pole. Should the griffin reject the lure, your character will be caught in a wind gaol and can only break out with the help of other players. Should you succeed, raising the griffin is a tedious task that involves players training alongside their respective griffins, running laps with them, taking them to hunt monsters, and feeding them properly. Depending on their diet, the food you give them will affect the color of its plumage and their battle stats.

Or you can skip the hard work and simply moonlace with your teammates through all the progression bars and required materials to save time. Once finished, you’ll be able to battle one another through the thunderous aerial domain of Abraxas. Clearing the event will net you an event-exclusive skin inspired by the royal family’s shining celestial robes and a weapon skin of a body pillow with your favorite character, so do your best!

B In celebration of Queen Elara’s birthday, the office of the royal household is hosting a modest tea party in the Greatmoon Groves. Swiffy bots that are normally programmed to remind visitors to keep the groves clean are now playing a birthday jingle on repeat. For people who prefer to be away from the blinding neon lights and the thumping techno music of PrismaPlace, this is the ideal escape. Unlimited tea and cookies are being served!

The tea is a soft-colored lilac concoction made from Ehrysian tea leaves that are known to cause a huge spike of alertness and is popular to Moon Knights and office workers with long night shifts as well as gamers for those all-night grinding sessions. The assorted cookies have either Ah-Kari or Commander GareBear printed on them. In case it isn't obvious yet, both are the birthday girl’s favorite LmaO characters.

Any Moonblessed looking for extra income is welcome to be royal attendants for the day; the hours are paid by Demichroma. They must be properly dressed up as maids or butlers (outfits provided by the royal household) as they serve tables.

Level 3, Caihong | top

Meanwhile, Caihong is in the midst of Remooning festivities in celebration of the new year, and merriment usually lasts a fortnight, filled with fireworks in the sky. Upon entering the district, beautiful Prismals with rat ears and tails greet you with a Happy Remooning and eagerly tug you along to join in.

Those welcomed will receive a pack of multi-colored sparklers, mooncakes topped with cheese, and a glowing drink called Champagne Supernova, poured in a thin glass in your hand. If you are over eighteen, the rat Prismals will ask if you prefer your drink with a kick. If you say yes, then they will add flavorful ice that causes extreme intoxication and might leave you to be susceptible to all levels of suggestion. Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.

A One of the party games being played by the locals is called Lucky Tail, which is basically pinning the tail on the holographic rat stand-in — with a twist, it must be played with a partner! Another participant will blindfold you, spin you around, then push you forward. The stand-in is located at the end of unsteady elevated platforms forming a maze, filled to the brim with distracting objects underneath. They’re long, they’re thick, and they’re vibrating furiously in an attempt to knock you off the platforms.

Your partner must guide you by voice to successfully navigate through the maze! The game is rigged with various mechanisms, so stepping on specific platforms will activate a number of traps against you or your partner: machines that may tickle, drop colorful slime, or cause the platform to repetitively spin, and who knows what else?

Should you manage to get through the obstacle course and pin the tail successfully, you and your partner will win copious amounts of Demichroma, courtesy of Buwan from Buwan’s Stop.

B Another attraction is a fun magic glamour booth known for its face or body swap features. The booth staff, clad in their festive rat paraphernalia, will encourage you and your friends to take aesthetic shots using an illusion generator. The effects last an hour. Photographed images can be instantly uploaded and shared in Prismagram. New year, new you! Why not take the chance to celebrate this momentous occasion in a unique fashion? It’s all in good humor.

There are two buttons to press: (A) CUSTOM or (B) RANDOM. Pressing A will allow participants to customize their desired effects. Pressing B will cause the illusion magic to randomly rearrange participants in questionable positions, new outfits (or lack thereof), and you may even come out of the booth looking like your best friend or your worst rival. The possibilities are endless!

So he knew. The Doctor's sense of curiosity had always been one of his... now her... most exploitable weaknesses. It was true though, about the door. He would hardly have gone to all of this trouble if there wasn't a door.

The threat was equally as gratifying. They were on familiar terms with threats and the looming prospect of betrayal.

"With a screwdriver, Doctor?"

He had noticed the device had been upgraded slightly... the velvet clad version had once used a much different looking sonic device to deal with a field of land mines, but he did have doubts that it had been upgraded to a weapon. The Doctor's other highly exploitable weakness was a far too sickening sense of compassion which did mean a dislike of guns.

"We will need a keycard with a very distinct access code. Only the most highly skilled technicians carry one."

[ Wow. He puts his hands on his hips. ] If you were going to do this by yourself, you hardly needed me. [ Grump, grump. ]

There's a safe one on your left.

[She doesn’t answer that and jumps to the platform, arms out for balance as it tops dangerously before righting itself under her weight.]

But I’ll still go where you tell me to go, you know! But I can’t really turn it off... it’s not too late for us to switch, I think!

[But her tone is teasing, fully expecting him to refuse.]

"What the hell are you" usually comes up first. Or "why do you have a tail". Sometimes "you're not gonna eat me, are you?" shows up, too.

I mean, if you want. I just kinda flit around and get enough to handle that way, but that's just who I am I guess!

[The succubus stepped in a bit.]

If you wish, please, just try it a bit. Though, I will note there's a sensation element to it too. It can be a bit addictive.

[Yanli follows the woman inside, completely unperturbed that this is, in fact, Wei Wuxian's residence. Why would she be? She's one who raised him, or at least, she'd tried to. There's only so much a young girl only a few years older than her siblings can do on her own.]

...I've never noticed A-Xian being particularly protective of his things, though.

[Or maybe she's gotten special treatment? Who knows what goes on between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli exactly.]

There might be something special about them and that's why he doesn't want them touched.

[From Yanli's perspective, there's usually more behind her brother's words and actions than usually be taken at face value.]

[Wow, the kid's got an appetite. Ace is a big eater, even going as far to swallow down bone and other things like that, the bits most people wouldn't or couldn't digest. But never in Ace's life has he ever personally felt the need to devour a sparkler. Or anything else obviously not food. Oh well, there's weirder things to do when it comes down to it.

He also eyes Inosuke, and sighs at how the young man is eyeing his meal. Ace isn't going to tolerate him just stealing, but if he's that hungry he can have the mooncakes Ace was given. But if he wants to just grab them, Ace has a couple of tricks up his sleeve to prevent it.] No offense, but you're gonna have to ask nicely if you want these. [Or he'll wreath himself in flames, and play keep away with the items pocketed and hidden in a mess of fire that won't burn unless Ace chooses for it to.]

[Akutagawa eyes the monster, and somehow the creature takes more precedence than trying to figure out if this man's name is really Dazai. He watches as the redhead charges for the monster, and he doesn't want to be left out of the fun either.]

Don't be daft. I live for this.

[Akutagawa lifts his hand up, summoning his own beast. Black dragon-like head extends from his coat, hovering menacingly above him.]

Rashoumon: Agito!

[The dragon head tendril surges forward, baring its fangs and ready to bite into the opposing creature.]

[ That troubles him, to be honest. He'd sent Huaisang to be trained and taught before, not seeing for some time. His brow furrows, a little confused but mostly concerned. ]

How long has it been?

"We have so much in common!" She beamed, her smile brightening. "If you're going to meet someone for the first time, you might as well make it a good impression that they won't soon forget!"

"Mm," DMG hummed while looking thoughtful. "There was another name once.." but something prevented her from using it. "Just Dark Magician Girl it is!"

[“Usual kid stuff” does not apply to Sephiroth, so it all rings of novelty to his ears. (Even if superhero wiki is term that he only half comprehends.)

He considers that for a moment, at how weird it apparently isn’t to the other, and how strange that is to him. Never until this place did Sephiroth consider life beyond the confines of his own planet, nor hope to realize just how many there were. Again, something to set his mind askew with its surreality, if this was not his second period of adjustment here.]

It means that I’ve done this before.

[He steps around Teddy, brushing past. The gesture may seem aloof and like he intends on severing the conversation right then and there, but he continues with the expectation that the other is interested enough in his explanation to follow.]

This is the second time I’ve woken up on a foreign moon, and expected to live on a strange planet. Just like this is the second time I have to settle in to my new living space.

[ With this demand, Jiang Cheng brings up a hand as though to backhand Huaisang for the audacity but stops just short, rolling his eyes to let that deliver the blow instead. ]

You're one to talk about people being small! I could turn around and lose you in a busy marketplace!

[ He doesn't make any further attempt to dislodge Huaisang after that, a little concerned the other man, drunk as he is, will just end up on the floor. So instead he sighs, looking around for somewhere to sit. ]

And that's Sect Leader Jiang to you. [ Because you called him small. ] Come on, I see some tables and chairs over there.

[ Sliding an arm around Huaisang's waist in an effort just to keep him upright, Jiang Cheng starts them in that direction. ]

[PLEASE DO NOT DIE ON HER YET MR STARRY FACE BEAUTY! YOU PROMISE TO STAY WITH HE---

There will be a slight pause at his recent revelation. Nike was having a tough time processing it. A big one. What does he mean cursed? Will he turn into those dark spirits like the one she encountered at the Mountain Kingdom? Or the one Alto bonded with when he was abandoned? It's true the spirit wasn't malicious with Alto. They took care of him and kept him company. Even if it instructed Alto to destroy the world, it was done to give comfort to him because it couldn't admit it was close to death, to disappearing.

Her green eyes will begin to water at the thought of Alto's tragic childhood as much as the spirit before her. He can't be cursed! She doesn't want him to be, but after having touched his scar -- she felt a heavy pull from it. Something about it was attracting her attention while all at once it was repelling her. Or more like, the more she concentrated on the feeling of the scar, observing it as intently as she has, the more she is reminded of her time in the underground temples. The ones connected to the guardians and the ones hiding a sinister force.

And yet, knowing that he is cursed, Nike just couldn't. RELEASE HER HOLD. No. Not when it felt like he was close to falling into the pitch blackness, almost how she was dragged to the temple by the contaminated water that absorbed energy.

Getting back onto her knees, hovering over the boy, hands will begin to cradle the sides of his cheeks as she observes the markings while using her thumb to caress it a little more. Her green eyes will watch his silver ones in silence as she looks close to tears.]

I'm sorry...

[It was all she could express. Grief for his situation. In being cursed. She has no idea what it may entail to someone in their position. The spirit she met in the underground temple was clearly one created by unpurified negative emotions. But he....doesn't feel like he'd fall in this category.]

Did it happen because you lost heart? Hope? [A pause.] You don't seem like the type to. [He seemed to be emotionally strong, so why...? She'll hover down closer to him with the hope to observe his mark more closely, wondering if her proximity will trigger anything.] Is there anything I can do to help? Anything at all?

Absolutely not. [ Refused. He can see what kind of mess awaits her and wants no part of it.

Moved forward three tiles. If there are traps, I can't sense them.

He is proud of himself for remembering, thank you Angela. It's not wholly surprising but at the same time, he didn't think he'd forget her so easily either. In response to her closing in, he turns to face her, stepping forward in an attempt to quickly bridge the gap between them. Not that there was much at this point.

Soft fingers brush against his jawline and his own hands automatically come up to rest on the back of hers. He's still searching her face, as if trying to decide to accept this reality again. Then again, it's not too difficult for him to get accustomed to strange situations (heck, he's done this once before) so it won't take him long.

Though not the type to outright hug someone, even if it's someone he was close to, he does attempt a warmer greeting by nuzzling into her hands. As if to convince her of his realness. He hasn't forgotten they're in an illusion machine, after all.

"I'm...surprised to see you're still here."

[ That's a great idea Link, but you're going to have to give him a moment. He's a little busy. A man on a mission. But don't sound so huffy; please, they had to get dressed around each other plenty of times in the past. Although in retrospect, Allen is having a hard time thinking of any occasion where Link wasn't perfectly uniformed and dressed at all times or in pajamas that weirdly never seemed to be out of place...

And don't worry, he keeping his necktie on. (It makes all the difference, alright.) Coat too, honestly, don't get your feathers in a ruffle. He just needs to see. Though honestly, his body language is more frantic and worried than anything. Especially as he unbuttons his shirt up to his middle and— ]

[ It's... smooth. And just skin. No feathers from his Innocence plugging up a gaping hole that won't shut, no festering heat from the Noah in him screaming in protest. Well, he has a scar on his stomach where it was, a spidering and unpleasant sort of one like the skin had been burned or, more accurately, somehow corrupted, but... ]

It healed... [ A few crystal shards fall from the scarred edges as well. The wound from Kanda that had made his life hell for months... it healed.

His head feels clear. Empty and clear for the first time in forever. That's what he had meant. ]

Link... [ Should he... say anything? Is it something he even needs to hide? Couldn't it be something that changes everything?

Does saying it aloud jinx it? ]

I don't feel it anymore. Any of it.

[ Like the Memory—like the 14th—was gone. ]

Siofra nods, solemn and takes her hand.

...she didn't expect the warmth, that spark of power passing between them, comforting as in innervates. A half-remembered discussion from the moon flits up to her; the word...

"Moonlacing," she says out loud.

Leanne's too vulnerable for Siofra to be entirely comfortable doing this with, now that she realizes the full implications. Siofra's a flirt and honestly a bit of a slut, but she's also a Paladin and her honor is her life.

"I didn't expect this - d'ye need me to let go?" she asks, softly.

[ Perhaps it's subtle, but this Jiang Cheng is a softer thing, malleable and mutable like clay not yet fired in the kiln. He smiles readily, eyes downcast, fluster as easily read on his face as the righteous fury that will become his mainstay in years to come.

The formal greeting causes him a brief start, having forgotten the fact of it in the relief of their reunion. He colors slightly at that, wondering what she knows of him, what she's heard, if the gossip is kind or damning of his young, inexperienced rule. He knows public assessment of him has been generous so far in consideration of the tragedy of Lotus Pier, but that won't last forever. Nothing ever does. ]

As well as can be in a place like this. [ He gives a gesture at the general bustle and... chaos of the place, so different from the chaos home but perhaps equal in measure. ] I've been here a month now, give or take. I feel like I'm finally adjusting, but it can take some time. Did you only just arrive...?

[He rarely had any confidence so it was rather good fortune this was one thing he felt he was good at enough to speak up about.]

[He was excited for the first time since arriving, the course seemed almost like something that might be used to train with, and though he wasn't very good, he still wanted to try. After getting to the starting place he tied the blindfold around his eyes and took a deep breath. He could remember what it looked like, and he just needed to keep in mind the sound of things and sensing for changes. He needed to also make sure he could quickly respond to instruction, and hopefully not trip over himself or get startled.]

You know, in order to gain trust, you must learn to give some first!

[She can’t sense anything off about the tiles either, but on the third platform sinks in a little as her foot lands on it. She has about a moments pause to acknowledge it before out pops a thin tube that grows to about Sanzang’s height.]

Um...? [It doesnt appear to be doing anything at first but then it suddenly sprays Sanzang with. Water. Hm.

She yelps and ducks away, but there’s laughter ringing through the air even if it’s freezing outside and she’s wet and cold now.]

How much further to go? I’m going to turn into an ice sculpture at this rate!

I... you're not wrong to say my strength comes from devotion, or to call me a Paladin. And aye, Fyrshala is the sun and the flame, both subtle and gross.

And obviously a succubus, but Siofra opened her senses to Detect Evil and found... that Pidonus wasn't evil. And so Siofra's comfortable partnering with Pidonus. Hopefully in multiple senses of the word.]

[ Finn frowns, not as angry as he was at the mention of Hux but guarded at the very least. ]

I know. She said that you two... reached an understanding.

[ He has his own guesses, actually, considering how this place worked, how the Force worked. They're guesses that he can't really imagine and certainly doesn't understand, but Kylo not meeting his eyes doesn't strike any of them down.

He wants to threaten him. "If you hurt her-" etc. etc. It'd be hollow on Kylo's ears, though... And he'd be right. Finn's abilities hadn't carried over from Vaikuntha. Most of them, anyway. Besides, if he hurt her, she would do worse than anything Finn could come up with.

Though he has a lot of other things to say, he doesn't and just waits instead. ]

[The door he opens to leads to an apartment that is clearly already well-furnished and very much lived in, the single visible occupant standing near the door in a way as if to imply he were getting ready to leave. But he doesn't look bothered at all, the cat ears atop his head twitching in the direction of the door before he even turns.]

Hey, don't worry about it! It must be that time again, then-- you're new here, right? I always see new moonblessed wandering the halls around this time of month.
