▶ TDM .011
You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.
You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.
The next destination: Prismatica.

Iris Moon, Government Center (Arrival) and Planet Prismatica, City of Lunatia | top
Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

Level 1, PrismaPlace and Level 2, Greatmoon Groves | top
The first month of the year is packed with two of the most important winter events this season: Queen Elara’s birthday and the League Match Action Online (LmaO) PVP semi-finals. It just so happens that the Queen of Lunatia is also a huge LmaO fan. Coincidence? Definitely not! LmaO players and royal family fans alike can meet her at PrismaPlace, where she will be appearing in cosplay of her favorite hero, Ah-Kari, while holding a body pillow of Commander GareBear. You, too, can get an autograph or selfie with the birthday girl if you’re willing to fall in line! Her bodyguards will also be in LmaO cosplay, keeping the crowd under control during the long wait.
Queen Elara
Good day to you all! This may come as a surprise to our guests the Moonblessed, but I am a normal person despite my exalted position. Please do not think of me today as Queen Elara. Instead... my name is Ah-Kari, sorceress of the crystal! With my soul fan blades, through the darkness, I shall slice all who dare hurt my commander in twain!
But when she is not meeting and greeting...
... she will be furiously grinding her character and training her skills in LmaO in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Spectators will see her bring her own team full of hapless palace attendants who are there to either serve as her practice match partners or provide support to the one-woman army that is Queen Elara.
PrismaPlace is packed with giant crowds, many of them also in cosplay. While the semi-finals are taking place, new and old LmaO players alike can participate in the game’s current campaign: players who form teams get an improved chance of spawning unique monsters as well as winning rare items and skins in those prized lootboxes! Teams can also try to clear the event’s story together, featuring an aerial battle fought on griffin-back, which is heavily inspired by the popular Lunatian epic, The Battle of Abraxas, a colorful and complex story about the conflict between two families fighting over the fictional land of griffins, Abraxas.

Level 3, Caihong | top
Meanwhile, Caihong is in the midst of Remooning festivities in celebration of the new year, and merriment usually lasts a fortnight, filled with fireworks in the sky. Upon entering the district, beautiful Prismals with rat ears and tails greet you with a Happy Remooning and eagerly tug you along to join in.
Those welcomed will receive a pack of multi-colored sparklers, mooncakes topped with cheese, and a glowing drink called Champagne Supernova, poured in a thin glass in your hand. If you are over eighteen, the rat Prismals will ask if you prefer your drink with a kick. If you say yes, then they will add flavorful ice that causes extreme intoxication and might leave you to be susceptible to all levels of suggestion. Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.

After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.
A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.
Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.
B As a Remooning gift from the Lunar Scientia Headquarters, the dedicated team from the Amphoria Room has released their latest perfected technology: Amphoria Pods. These VR Pods, which can fit up to four people at a time, have been set up in the gaming hub within Level 1’s PrismaPlace. They allow users to upload sceneries of their world in order to create a realistic holographic landscape of their homes that others can access and play around with, granting everyone the means to relive past memories with their loved ones as well as interact with the bestiary of other worlds. The pods also use the same technology that enhanced the popular virtual game, League Match Action Online (LmaO), which means you’re liable to feel the chill of cold environments, the burning heat from boiling water, the hard slap of your ex-lover, or the biting sting of a stray wasp. All who use the Amphoria Pods for the first time this year will also receive a small amount of Chroma in case things get too real.

My comrades, we're going to make history today. We're going for a new record. Perhaps the highest kill counts or the fastest clear for this map — it matters not. We’ve practiced day and night for this tournament, so let us show everyone that we’re not to be taken lightly! Also, the livestream is going in the royal archive, so make your successors proud!!

A Progression in the event requires acquiring a griffin mount and getting it ready for battle. You can lure a wild one to yourself with a special veggie pie on a fishing pole. Should the griffin reject the lure, your character will be caught in a wind gaol and can only break out with the help of other players. Should you succeed, raising the griffin is a tedious task that involves players training alongside their respective griffins, running laps with them, taking them to hunt monsters, and feeding them properly. Depending on their diet, the food you give them will affect the color of its plumage and their battle stats.
Or you can skip the hard work and simply moonlace with your teammates through all the progression bars and required materials to save time. Once finished, you’ll be able to battle one another through the thunderous aerial domain of Abraxas. Clearing the event will net you an event-exclusive skin inspired by the royal family’s shining celestial robes and a weapon skin of a body pillow with your favorite character, so do your best!
B In celebration of Queen Elara’s birthday, the office of the royal household is hosting a modest tea party in the Greatmoon Groves. Swiffy bots that are normally programmed to remind visitors to keep the groves clean are now playing a birthday jingle on repeat. For people who prefer to be away from the blinding neon lights and the thumping techno music of PrismaPlace, this is the ideal escape. Unlimited tea and cookies are being served!
The tea is a soft-colored lilac concoction made from Ehrysian tea leaves that are known to cause a huge spike of alertness and is popular to Moon Knights and office workers with long night shifts as well as gamers for those all-night grinding sessions. The assorted cookies have either Ah-Kari or Commander GareBear printed on them. In case it isn't obvious yet, both are the birthday girl’s favorite LmaO characters.
Any Moonblessed looking for extra income is welcome to be royal attendants for the day; the hours are paid by Demichroma. They must be properly dressed up as maids or butlers (outfits provided by the royal household) as they serve tables.

A One of the party games being played by the locals is called Lucky Tail, which is basically pinning the tail on the holographic rat stand-in — with a twist, it must be played with a partner! Another participant will blindfold you, spin you around, then push you forward. The stand-in is located at the end of unsteady elevated platforms forming a maze, filled to the brim with distracting objects underneath. They’re long, they’re thick, and they’re vibrating furiously in an attempt to knock you off the platforms.
Your partner must guide you by voice to successfully navigate through the maze! The game is rigged with various mechanisms, so stepping on specific platforms will activate a number of traps against you or your partner: machines that may tickle, drop colorful slime, or cause the platform to repetitively spin, and who knows what else?
Should you manage to get through the obstacle course and pin the tail successfully, you and your partner will win copious amounts of Demichroma, courtesy of Buwan from Buwan’s Stop.
B Another attraction is a fun magic glamour booth known for its face or body swap features. The booth staff, clad in their festive rat paraphernalia, will encourage you and your friends to take aesthetic shots using an illusion generator. The effects last an hour. Photographed images can be instantly uploaded and shared in Prismagram. New year, new you! Why not take the chance to celebrate this momentous occasion in a unique fashion? It’s all in good humor.
There are two buttons to press: (A) CUSTOM or (B) RANDOM. Pressing A will allow participants to customize their desired effects. Pressing B will cause the illusion magic to randomly rearrange participants in questionable positions, new outfits (or lack thereof), and you may even come out of the booth looking like your best friend or your worst rival. The possibilities are endless!

r o o m i e s
Nonetheless, she's found herself accustomed to Lunatia and the people that occupy the sprawling city, whether they're people like herself or otherwise. Her rhythm was starting to form and she could predict the span of her days before they passed, although each was never far from the oddities that came and went with the shift of moons or the whim of some strangers beyond the city. Part of her is bothered by this, but she's allowing herself to adapt as well as someone stubborn like her might.
On the way back from her shift at work, she's decided to treat herself to something to eat. It's hard not to be tempted by the smells wafting from each vendor to the next and she'd skipped out on lunch while crunching for time. It takes her a moment to realize she's being spoken to and another second to respond when she turns to get a look at the one address her. Her expression goes from neutral to recognition. Almost sly, almost smug. ]
You could stand to put a little more effort into your pickup lines, Leon.
ROOMIES!!!
Jill?
[ While they ran similar circles back home, their schedules meant they hardly saw each other, and the last he heard she was still in the B.S.A.A. How long has she been here? Why? Is there anyone else here he should know about? Incredulous, he settles on one question at a time: ]
What are you doing here?
no subject
She raises a hand without waving it. ]
The one and only. [ She swipes at her dark fringe, tucking the extended length of it behind an ear. It isn't easy to explain just like his being here isn't. ] I was going to get a burger, but I imagine you mean here here. Same as you, I suppose? Not really sure. Been here four months, give or take. Been wondering when I would catch someone I knew.
[ She extends her hand, wiggling her fingers. ]
So, how about that Chroma?
no subject
Their shared experienced inspired within Leon a sense of solidarity with the remaining Raccoon City survivors, but their history notwithstanding, he remembers the boyish admiration he held for the S.T.A.R.S. members back when he was in the academy. Jill’s reputation has always preceded her, and despite appearances, he’s always desired a closer relationship with his peers.
In his confusion he almost forgets what he asked for. Looking at her hand, he shoots her a look—dubious but amused, mouth quirking at the corner into a wry smile—and extends his own. ]
Right.
[ He takes her hand into a firm shake. A warmth begins to spread up his arm and to his core, odd but not unpleasant, drawing upon the forgotten memory of a teenaged boy holding a girl’s hand for the first time. It produces a chuckle from Leon, who simply looks at Jill and gestures towards her with his chin. ]
Does that always happen?
[ He could get used it. ]
no subject
Although she's spent a lot of time here thinking about the past, there's little in her mind in regard to it right now. She's thinking of the moment they're in and the relief of finding someone she knows and can relate to, someone who isn't a rookie. Even if there hasn't been any bioterrorism attacks, there's still a certain sense of camaraderie that makes her feel more at ease.
Jill doesn't allow herself this sort of touch -- or sharing -- even when fighting others; there's hesitation in parting and an extra amount of time lingering, offering him some demichroma to get by for a bit. ]
Mm, yeah. I'm not sure if it's natural or something that happens to encourage... more. [ It was pleasant in a way she struggles to articulate, soothing rather than with the weight of anxiety that may come with any other touch. ] You should be able to get by for a bit with that. How long have you been here, by the way?
▶ GOD SAVE US FROM THE QUEEN, B.
[ Tea parties are more Re-L's speed than VR head sets and LAN parties - so she's ended up here probably drinking far more of that purple tea than anyone even should. Poor Iggy will have to piece her back together in the morning, but for the moment she's just... fairly intensely concentrated on whatever she's focusing on further way -
Who the hell knows, she may be the only person able to see far enough to focus on something tiny like someone annoyingly picking at a table cloth or something, but then Leon goes and breaks her out of it with his question.
Blue eyes instead turn to focus on him, a hand rising to tuck hair behind her ear. ]
Six months, going on seven.
no subject
[ He can’t imagine that. Leon hasn’t been here long, but he doesn’t know if it’ll ever stop feeling like a dream. Magic was real only in children’s stories and even the fantastical in his world could still be explained with science. The two being one in the same on Prismatica felt impossible, despite the material reality he was confronted with even now. ]
Does it get easier?
no subject
Most things do with time. And the place isn't a torture to be in for the most part. [ Mooncycles she could get used to and gauge, therefore making them manageable. Still, the place she came from is a literal ruin so most places would seem much better by comparison. ]
In fact it's been oddly calm for a few months, now.
Which I admittedly prefer.
no subject
[ If he had the choice, Leon’d rather be magick’d away to a peaceful planet than one ravaged by monsters and the like, would even consider it a much-needed vacation if he weren’t so concerned with what he left behind—but oddly calm? That didn’t inspire confidence. ]
What was happening before?
no subject
Before there were trips.. first to fox aliens and then these... I think they were jellyfish? Or this planet's version of them, invaded. [ Yes, she's never really seen them before - but that's maybe not what's being focused on here. Anyway, she dismisses the possibility of jelly fish with a little careless wave of a pale hand. ]
Either way, it's been fairly peaceful since. Other than the snow storms, but I didn't mind that all that much. I'm used to the cold and snow.
no subject
[ Or a really bad horror b-movie. He’s glad he wasn’t around to see that, but the knowledge of it happening doesn’t bode well for his hopes this would serve as a vacation planet. A guy could dream. ]
Well, here’s to hoping the trend continues. I’d take snow storms over alien invasions any day.
[ Even if the alien invasion consisted of admittedly non-threatening sounding jellyfish. He knows he shouldn’t underestimate that, but it’s not something he can take seriously on paper. ]
no subject
Really? Where are you from where that is? [ she’s only got a nuclear wasteland to look forward to and the occasional deformed creature that could give birth naturally. It’s all very.. a lot. ]
I’ve had more than enough of snow and cold .. but that’s the trade off, I guess.
(no subject)
There and Back Again, A
She gets the frustration, though, especially with the stress of it all leading her to a similar idea of needing something stronger than coffee.
Any attempts to look lady-like or put together by the petite woman have also gone out the window, and Leon manages to catch her with that question mid-bite on a very large sweet bread roll, stuffed cheeks and all.
To her credit, though, she does keep herself from speaking with a full mouth, but does nothing to brush away the crumbs from her face.]
I've heard worse pick up lines. Sure.
no subject
Not a line, unfortunately. I’m just another broke newcomer who has no idea what he’s doing.
[ Speaking of, he turns the palm of the hand he held out to stop her inward, signaling a handshake. Consensual touch was how you earned Chroma, right? Pretty weird, but he might as well introduce himself, seeing as he’s already here and putting her through this trouble. ]
I’m Leon.
no subject
[She only managed to get food because someone else had helped her, and she firmly believed in paying it forward in some manner.
She tried to look marginally more presentable and brushed the mess off her face, patting her hand off on her leggings so she could take the offered hand properly.]
Illyana, or Ana, if that's easier.
no subject
Ana, thanks. You too, huh?
[ As comforting as it is to have met someone stuck in the same boat, it doesn’t make him feel better. Being dragged away from everything he knows, especially with the trouble brewing at the time he was taken, was disorienting and stressful, and he could only imagine others in his position would feel the same.
… Although she seems to be faring nicely. Leon’s curious, but he doesn’t ask, and instead jokes (with just the smallest hint of seriousness and hope): ]
I suppose that means you don’t know of a way off this rock.
no subject
Yeah, there seemed to be quite a few people in the... transport thingie that we arrived on, so this is all new to me, too.
[Her arrival had also been fairly rocky, but she lucked into getting help once she was somewhat settled in. There was still plenty to fret over - how her guild was going to get on without her, how her brother was taking all of this - but for now she was doing what she could to keep the stress at bay.
Mainly by eating.]
No, sadly. The only information I got was "it'll happen when it happens". which is the least helpful.
Say Cheese
What? No! NO! Your other left! Go back. Come this way instead.
[It might have been a good time to assess how badly they wanted/needed this prize money.]
Come on tough guy, we've got this. [And when Nero sees Leon stumbling he goes in to help (he isn't very helpful), but at least holds him upright for a moment.] You good?
no subject
It’s a good thing embarrassment was a great motivator too, because as he’s being steadied, Leon uses the opportunity to collect himself—as difficult as it is—and determines that even if they don’t win the prize money, they sure as hell were going to try. He holds up a hand and waves Nero off, mouth stretched in a wry smile. ]
Yeah, thanks. Probably shouldn’t have had those drinks, huh?
[ Licking his lips, he searches for Nero’s arm and places a reassuring hand on his wrist. ]
You go on back and we’ll try this again. [ A laugh. ] If we can’t make it out of the starting area in 15, we’ll call it quits for the night. How’s that sound?
no subject
Nero has so little balance left that it's almost absurd that he's trying to straighten up Leon's balance. They must have looked like a couple drunks who's combined functional IQ could have been counted on a single hand. It doesn't help that Nero's been sipping his drink this whole time as if just the one hadn't been enough. He lets go of his partner when he's waved off and laughs.]
Not my fault they made em taste so good.. [He shrugs, offering Leon a sip when he wets his lips. Still not in the best shape to provide balance or stability, he's more than willing to at least try.]
Nah, we got this. I can feel it, man. I just.. [Nero squints as he looks both ways.] Oh shit, which way did I come from again?? [It's so much easier to see from the outside than when you're actually in it. Whoops.] Oh fuck.
confused math lady.icon
Figures his openness would involve some sort of magical ice alcohol that turned him into a stumbling mess but hey. ‘Least he’s not alone. ]
Shit. Are you serious? [ He gestures towards a general direction. Leon doesn’t think they’ve been turned around, but given everything so far… ] You came in from over there, right?
[ He’s two seconds away from taking the blindfold off. It’d probably disqualify them if Nero’s presence hasn’t already, but the lack of sight is getting more and more frustrating by the minute and he’s growing increasingly curious about the goings-on of their strange surroundings. ]
no subject
Hey, no don't panic. It's cool. [Nero laughs away his disorientation, clapping Leon on the shoulder as he takes a look around since, oh yeah, other dude has on a blindfold for the game. He doesn't want to be the reason they're disqualified, but also which way was up?]
It'd be great if one of us stayed sober for this, but listen. I got an idea, man. It's a 50/50 chance that it's this way, so wait here, everything'll be fine. And if not, I'll buy you a drink.
[Which is the last fucking thing they need, but Nero's not sober enough to be sensible.]
there and back again
What else do you want?
[ There's a certain conviction in his voice, indicating that he doesn't mind. Looking at Ayer though, he doesn't look too well. He's covered in bandages, hiding away a number of wounds and bruises. Still, he looks like he's hanging in there, standing straight with a calm expression. ]
no subject
Upon reflection, however, perhaps it isn’t so strange. If Prismatica’s population consisted mostly of people like him, it’s probably safe to say this is a common occurrence. Still, he’s touched by the generosity, and he turns his attention towards the injured stranger. ]
That’s it, thanks.
[ He’s immediately concerned. The guy looks rough but seems to be holding it together pretty well, and with his demeanor taken into consideration, Leon errs on the side of caution and doesn’t ask—though he keeps an eye out for anything amiss in his dressings. ]
Look, I really appreciate you doing this. Is there a way I can repay you?
[ He doesn’t intend on taking charity without paying it forward in some capacity. ]
