▶ TDM .011
You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.
You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.
The next destination: Prismatica.

Iris Moon, Government Center (Arrival) and Planet Prismatica, City of Lunatia | top
Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

▶ God Save Us from the Queen
Level 1, PrismaPlace and Level 2, Greatmoon Groves | top
The first month of the year is packed with two of the most important winter events this season: Queen Elara’s birthday and the League Match Action Online (LmaO) PVP semi-finals. It just so happens that the Queen of Lunatia is also a huge LmaO fan. Coincidence? Definitely not! LmaO players and royal family fans alike can meet her at PrismaPlace, where she will be appearing in cosplay of her favorite hero, Ah-Kari, while holding a body pillow of Commander GareBear. You, too, can get an autograph or selfie with the birthday girl if you’re willing to fall in line! Her bodyguards will also be in LmaO cosplay, keeping the crowd under control during the long wait.
Queen Elara
Good day to you all! This may come as a surprise to our guests the Moonblessed, but I am a normal person despite my exalted position. Please do not think of me today as Queen Elara. Instead... my name is Ah-Kari, sorceress of the crystal! With my soul fan blades, through the darkness, I shall slice all who dare hurt my commander in twain!
But when she is not meeting and greeting...
... she will be furiously grinding her character and training her skills in LmaO in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Spectators will see her bring her own team full of hapless palace attendants who are there to either serve as her practice match partners or provide support to the one-woman army that is Queen Elara.
PrismaPlace is packed with giant crowds, many of them also in cosplay. While the semi-finals are taking place, new and old LmaO players alike can participate in the game’s current campaign: players who form teams get an improved chance of spawning unique monsters as well as winning rare items and skins in those prized lootboxes! Teams can also try to clear the event’s story together, featuring an aerial battle fought on griffin-back, which is heavily inspired by the popular Lunatian epic, The Battle of Abraxas, a colorful and complex story about the conflict between two families fighting over the fictional land of griffins, Abraxas.

▶ Say Cheese
Level 3, Caihong | top
Meanwhile, Caihong is in the midst of Remooning festivities in celebration of the new year, and merriment usually lasts a fortnight, filled with fireworks in the sky. Upon entering the district, beautiful Prismals with rat ears and tails greet you with a Happy Remooning and eagerly tug you along to join in.
Those welcomed will receive a pack of multi-colored sparklers, mooncakes topped with cheese, and a glowing drink called Champagne Supernova, poured in a thin glass in your hand. If you are over eighteen, the rat Prismals will ask if you prefer your drink with a kick. If you say yes, then they will add flavorful ice that causes extreme intoxication and might leave you to be susceptible to all levels of suggestion. Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.
Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.
B As a Remooning gift from the Lunar Scientia Headquarters, the dedicated team from the Amphoria Room has released their latest perfected technology: Amphoria Pods. These VR Pods, which can fit up to four people at a time, have been set up in the gaming hub within Level 1’s PrismaPlace. They allow users to upload sceneries of their world in order to create a realistic holographic landscape of their homes that others can access and play around with, granting everyone the means to relive past memories with their loved ones as well as interact with the bestiary of other worlds. The pods also use the same technology that enhanced the popular virtual game, League Match Action Online (LmaO), which means you’re liable to feel the chill of cold environments, the burning heat from boiling water, the hard slap of your ex-lover, or the biting sting of a stray wasp. All who use the Amphoria Pods for the first time this year will also receive a small amount of Chroma in case things get too real.

My comrades, we're going to make history today. We're going for a new record. Perhaps the highest kill counts or the fastest clear for this map — it matters not. We’ve practiced day and night for this tournament, so let us show everyone that we’re not to be taken lightly! Also, the livestream is going in the royal archive, so make your successors proud!!

A Progression in the event requires acquiring a griffin mount and getting it ready for battle. You can lure a wild one to yourself with a special veggie pie on a fishing pole. Should the griffin reject the lure, your character will be caught in a wind gaol and can only break out with the help of other players. Should you succeed, raising the griffin is a tedious task that involves players training alongside their respective griffins, running laps with them, taking them to hunt monsters, and feeding them properly. Depending on their diet, the food you give them will affect the color of its plumage and their battle stats.
Or you can skip the hard work and simply moonlace with your teammates through all the progression bars and required materials to save time. Once finished, you’ll be able to battle one another through the thunderous aerial domain of Abraxas. Clearing the event will net you an event-exclusive skin inspired by the royal family’s shining celestial robes and a weapon skin of a body pillow with your favorite character, so do your best!
B In celebration of Queen Elara’s birthday, the office of the royal household is hosting a modest tea party in the Greatmoon Groves. Swiffy bots that are normally programmed to remind visitors to keep the groves clean are now playing a birthday jingle on repeat. For people who prefer to be away from the blinding neon lights and the thumping techno music of PrismaPlace, this is the ideal escape. Unlimited tea and cookies are being served!
The tea is a soft-colored lilac concoction made from Ehrysian tea leaves that are known to cause a huge spike of alertness and is popular to Moon Knights and office workers with long night shifts as well as gamers for those all-night grinding sessions. The assorted cookies have either Ah-Kari or Commander GareBear printed on them. In case it isn't obvious yet, both are the birthday girl’s favorite LmaO characters.
Any Moonblessed looking for extra income is welcome to be royal attendants for the day; the hours are paid by Demichroma. They must be properly dressed up as maids or butlers (outfits provided by the royal household) as they serve tables.

Saying no (or if you’re under 18) will simply leave it as a sweet drink.
A One of the party games being played by the locals is called Lucky Tail, which is basically pinning the tail on the holographic rat stand-in — with a twist, it must be played with a partner! Another participant will blindfold you, spin you around, then push you forward. The stand-in is located at the end of unsteady elevated platforms forming a maze, filled to the brim with distracting objects underneath. They’re long, they’re thick, and they’re vibrating furiously in an attempt to knock you off the platforms.
Your partner must guide you by voice to successfully navigate through the maze! The game is rigged with various mechanisms, so stepping on specific platforms will activate a number of traps against you or your partner: machines that may tickle, drop colorful slime, or cause the platform to repetitively spin, and who knows what else?
Should you manage to get through the obstacle course and pin the tail successfully, you and your partner will win copious amounts of Demichroma, courtesy of Buwan from Buwan’s Stop.
B Another attraction is a fun magic glamour booth known for its face or body swap features. The booth staff, clad in their festive rat paraphernalia, will encourage you and your friends to take aesthetic shots using an illusion generator. The effects last an hour. Photographed images can be instantly uploaded and shared in Prismagram. New year, new you! Why not take the chance to celebrate this momentous occasion in a unique fashion? It’s all in good humor.
There are two buttons to press: (A) CUSTOM or (B) RANDOM. Pressing A will allow participants to customize their desired effects. Pressing B will cause the illusion magic to randomly rearrange participants in questionable positions, new outfits (or lack thereof), and you may even come out of the booth looking like your best friend or your worst rival. The possibilities are endless!

I'M LAUGHING, rin's so cute?!!
because, well. here's Rin, puffing up from one idle provocation. it would be rude to laugh, but he feels himself having to cover his smile; broad shoulders turn just an inch, curled fingers raised to his lips to hide the faint curve.
she's still young, he thinks. young enough to rise to the occasion. ]
So your Servant is a Saber. [ his even alto warms again, a touch playful. ] Whether or not they're 'invincible' can be put to the test.
[ down, doggo. it's evident that he's still half-joking (he'd still want to spar!!!); the addendum he tacks on is a testament to his goodwill. ]
...Your Servant is fortunate to have a Master such as yourself. Even if this place is as you say, without the rules of a war to bind us.
[ a Master who would drop her guard to defend her Servant's honor, to extol the strength of their bond without shame— truly, he admires that sort of relationship. it shows in his body language, in the way his fondness seems to seep into that put-together face. ]
i hope you meant stupid instead of cute but omg dia stop being so cute
At least he's not literally laughing and thank everything his words give Rin other things to think about!]
Yes and no, because she's not in this world and these aren't between me and her here. [ Yes, Rin's Saber is a female Saber. There's a glance towards her Commands when she says 'these' and then she's looking at Dia with that fierce look again.]
Hey, were you even listening? I said we're winning it, so that's invincible to you right there!
[She calls her allies Team Invincible because that's what her team is. (Thanks for the spoilers, Cu!) B-Besides she still has her bias about Saber being the most amazing, best Servant ever and so on. Too bad summoning her here doesn't work like it would back home.
But also, yeah, she gets the whole he still wants to spar meaning behind it too. Lancers. Always up for a fight, a certain someone even ditched this girl for a useless fight. Well, she's not here so he can't test the winning thing against her.]
Of course they are, I'm glad you noticed. [That's supposed to translate as a thank you?? She could say thank you, but she doesn't, surely he can deal with that.] Just because there's no war here -- though monsters and other things to fight against appear sometimes towards the end of the month -- doesn't mean they're any less important to me.
[She says that with a tone like it's no big deal but it is. Even Cu tried to ask her for a contract when he noticed she was free before but considering she was biased with getting her Archer back, she said no to that loyal dog. Archer's the most important to her here, she doesn't tell that to anyone but he really is out of everyone, who are around in this world. He's easily getting that title with the timeline differences happening to her and a certain redhead. And because between having figured out what the hell he's even doing in her timeline, regretting SO MANY THINGS about their time together back home and realizing they'd never, ever ever reconnect there ... well... being Archer's Master again in a place, where they can still have their contract means everything to Rin and she arrived here like she'd do anything to get her Archer back. Especially when the one here is still an asshole, that's never going to change huh, but it's still been very different than all of that endless bickering and icecold behavior back home. There's still that too!! But there's also so much more, like, she's honestly happy to have all of their time together here. No matter how twisted it all is or how much everything else is ... bad and worse and so on but, it'd be a lot worse without him. W E I R D. She's glad Servants aren't mind readers. (Dia, you're not a mind reader, right????)
Anyway, yes, she knows she's the most amazing, superior and ideal Master, thank you very much.]
he's such a dingus... please dunk on him freely
but. speaking of luck, it looks like Diarmuid isn't clawing at the bottom of the barrel for once. it's evident from everything that he's been hearing that not only is the little Master in front of him someone with courage, she's someone who can reach into her well of empathy and say, with conviction, that she values the connections she's made.
this, this, he values above most everything. a lasting friendship, a fondness without calculation.
"they're important to me", Rin says, and he can feel the warmth settle into the pit of his stomach. ]
...Such fine words.
[ still a bit playful, but with sincerity tempering any traces of patronization. ]
Your faith rivals the strength of an army. I would pity any Servant who fails to serve valiantly under your lionhearted command.
[ and, really???? Rin should be glad Diarmuid isn't a mind reader??? he'd be the first to accidentally spill the beans about how soft Rin is... RIP. he's a terrible liar, text it.
case in point: he looks really enamored. ]
no subject
Rin is going to blame Cordis for letting anything of her soft side show in words or otherwise because that stupidly amorous moon is always doing weird things.]
I am my own army. Ah but if you really want to test the invincible theory some time because it can also be more than just me and my Saber, well, my [Archer-- no, not saying that yet even though she could but let him figure it out himself.] Wildcard and another Servant from the Fifth war are here too and I'm pretty sure they'll gladly spar with you anytime.
[PROBABLY. MOST LIKELY. She can't make any real promises for anyone else but ... She likes thinking she knows them.]
Of course failing under my command would be totally unforgivable.
[Acting like a Trojan Horse to make sure Rin gets to keep Saber forever so she'll never have to be alone again? No, it's not even failing at all from that stupid idiot. SHE IS REALLY, REALLY GLAD DIA IS NOT A MIND READER!!
But now she is blushing while he looks like that. What??? Does he have a fever or something??? What does a girl do when someone looks like that?? Stop! Maybe he'll stop soon! Stop looking like that and go fight against someone, surely that's much more interesting than her company!]
no subject
hopefully.
he makes a mental note that there are more Servants rolling around in this place than he anticipated— a 'Wildcard' and another one from his future, great— and nods, to affirm that he's paying attention. ]
Understood. I'll do my utmost not to make a scene, then— for your sake, as much as mine.
[ because... lol... Servant battles. one wrong move, and it'll turn into a deathmatch.
here's another mental note, though: dial it back. he sees the blush dusting Rin's cheeks, and subtly turns his head so that his charm spot is obscured. just in case... just in case. ]
...And if I'm keeping you, there's no need to stay. I've troubled you for long enough. [ soft consideration, upended by another gentle tease. ] Your Servant will worry if you spend too much time around another.
no subject
You might be the only one not making a scene there then but as long as that scene doesn't go too bad...
[Rin shrugs. Because those two are always making a scene of every fight either way, not a death scene but ... Idiots. But yes, Servant battles, she's seen those going in a lot of ways.
His charm spot and the day of new arrivals happening around Cordis time sounds like a really bad combo... Or however anyone sees it. More bad luck for him? Or her? Both? Neither? Should she ... be leaving? Not that her being Cordis is obvious from anywhere, she's feeling pretty chill at the moment.]
What? Oh. No, you're in luck since I'm in no rush with going anywhere. [He's no trouble at all, really, she'll just leave that unsaid. Archer worrying about her? Cute thought but it makes Rin laugh a little.] It's more like he'll think I'm insane if I try spending too much time around him.
[ It's impossible to say whether she's serious or joking. LOOK, IT'S ... COMPLICATED. And let's not even talk how much time she spends with Cu too.]
Well then, if you don't mind company either... Did you want to check that apartment? Find another apartment? Tour around the city? Or whatever else there is that you'd want to do here?
[She'd offer eating/drinking but that depends on the Servant, yes? Most don't, right? Unless they want to try eating and drinking while they're here? Congrats anyway, Dia, it's like you're stuck on a sudden date with her if you're not leaving anywhere yourself. It's not like she'll mind if he'll rather be alone either, it sure is weird arriving here.]
no subject
but once the topic moves from not making a scene to what else he could be doing here... well. he's never thought of it, really. what does a knight with a second shot at life do, if not fight? what else has he ever been good for?
he raises a brow at the assertion that her Servant would find her 'insane' for lingering, though. ]
You have an interesting group of followers, I see. [ here's looking at you, Archer.
with that out of the way, he can address the offer; a kind one, to be sure. one that he doesn't quite know what to do with, for the few beats it takes to really sink in. ]
...You're aware that we Servants require very little. [ matter-of-factly. but: ] It may be better for the both of us, then, for you to guide me somewhere you find enjoyable.
If time permits, of course.
[ translation: show me a place you like; i'll escort you. semi-date unlocked....... ]
no subject
[She is happy to have Archer back with her and she can't even try to hide it on her face right now or generally speaking either. Ooops. Insane or not but that is all that matters, them both being happy with whatever they have agreed here that is. Let's not talk about Archer though, let the grumpy asshole be wherever he is and so on.
Rin nods at being aware of that because yes she is even if she knows a few exceptions too. Wait, what? She could be the one guiding him...? Well be is new and all, maybe it is easier that way.]
Really? So you're more or less okay with submitting to my whims, that's good to know. We can do this that way too.
[... It's totally fine that she said a worse version of that to Shirou and Saber on her date with them. Making new memories of lines from that day to make those hurt less here. Cool. Insane is one way to describe her.]
You just happened to see me while I have nothing else but time for whatever I feel like doing. [She offers a hand towards him. Doesn't even give herself time to hesitate doing so, that would be a stupid internal fight between greedy vs tsun. It's just a hand, geez.] Well then, you can hold that while we walk.
[Easy, free Chroma, you're welcome or more like you can also help her becoming the richest Tohsaka ever?]
no subject
in other words: please don't let him being here ruin a good thing for Rin. if his second shot at life won't let him fight for someone he serves, then at least let him make sure that he doesn't let it end in catastrophe. ]
That would depend on the nature of your whims. I wouldn't reveal yourself to be too unreasonable too quickly, Miss Tohsaka.
[ a gentle verbal rib, before he glances down at the hand being proffered. it may be just a hand to her, but let it be known that he has reason to Think Very Deeply about gestures like these.........
...ultimately, he settles on a middle ground. lacing fingers is too much for him at the moment (cue the audience groan track), but he knows how people subsist here on Chroma, so—
—compromise. a bit of maneuvering, and he's finagling it so that Rin's fingers are settling on his crooked forearm. like this, they're elbow-to-elbow: yes, like a knight escorting a princess.
Diarmuid is embarrassing, text it. ]
Walk where you please, then. I'll see to it that you return to your quarters safely once you're satisfied.
no subject
She's at least able to swallow a pickupline from Hell which would include something about him liking those, who play hard to get.]
Then be glad you didn't arrive here last month, while this world tried to make everyone have all the weird whims out of nowhere.
[Honestly, she kind of expects him to ... ignore it or politely reject or something or that maybe it's not just that easy either way. There's some amusement at that being a cute compromise, Rin sure doesn't mind this way either. He could treat her like a princess, she'll have nothing against it. Probably.]
Well then, let's go see if there's something interesting going on anywhere in this city. And I'll be sure to keep that in mind, it's a promise now.
[And if there's not anything great going on, she'll figure out... Something. It's not like coming up with not-date ideas is difficult, it's more like finding people who'd go with her is the problem ... or has been the problem .... whatever. Walking her back to where she lives afterwards, huh? That sounds nice. Either way, let's walk out of these apartment things first, there's always something weird or cute going on around new arrivals time somewhere around the city.]
