You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. After an hour or two of wandering through the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. Because of the strange phenomena during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay. You will then be escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the Iris moon and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as the local Prismals.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A Settle in your new home at Level 2 to find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

Oh my god, they're back again. After taking more than a year-long hiatus, *BTSB (Backstay Sailor Boys) takes the planet by storm once more with their latest single, Anybody (Yeah). With an album out and a concert on the way, the five-man fox Prismal group from Amegahara has been busy with promotions. Their appearances on billboard ads, magazines, TV shows, et cetera make their worldwide handsome faces pretty hard to miss! Everyone and their pet robot in Lunatia can be found jamming to their songs, and every teenager on the street can tell you who their bias is and why.

B Be a part of *BTSB's Prismagram campaign and get a chance to win a physical copy of their album and backstage passes to their upcoming concert! Simply take a picture of you and your friends with official merchandise and post it on Prismagram with the hashtag #WeAreBTSB. Be careful, though: touching *BTSB merchandise tends to make people crush on the first face they see. The posts with the best pictures and stories will get their prizes in the mail on the 24th.

Why would a Moonblessed want to meet them, you ask? Community spirit! A sizable portion of the locals will start singing or dancing with you and your friends! “I want it another way. Tell me why? I never want to hear you say, I wish it wasn't that way. Don't be that way!” Play along and they’ll be willing to pardon your unpaid meal tab for one time or offer an incredible discount for one item you really wanted at the mall. The boys are also considered talented magic users in their own right. They might have some spells and magic tools to add to a Moonblessed's arsenal!

▶ What’s the Deal With This Pop Life?

Before you meet these foxy boys, you'll want to do your research on them. Thankfully, their ridiculously huge fanbase (who refer to themselves as NAVY) has already done the work for you.

Suzaku is the leader and the brains of the group. Both his witty, rapid-fire raps and lightning-fast spinning breakdances are known throughout the planet. He is also a newscaster and likes making informative but interesting Prismagram posts. His brother is also an idol, albeit a washed up one-hit wonder.

Kaya is the group's down-to-earth mom friend and soulful vocals. He is the most responsible of the boys and handles their meals and laundry. A former delinquent in his youth, he now spends his free time cooking for schoolchildren and advocating fox rights. He does not support fox pelt products and owns an animal shelter for strays.

Lecter is a dancer who oozes with sex appeal. If not in the studio, he is always hitting up the gym. Once a member of the Little Moonblessings Club in his childhood, he has grown out of his boy-next-door image. Currently, he is #2 on Prismal Magazine's Top 100 Sexiest Men Alive for his well-built frame and photogenic looks. Contrary to his cool appearance and reserved demeanor, he is surprisingly personable. He is also a prolific actor. He likes cats.

Tarn is the baby of the group who maintains a gaming channel. He often does spontaneous livestreams where he does Let’s Play sessions, live Q&As, and encourages people to make memes of his face. He jokes about playing more LmaO than going to practice but he’s got clear and strong vocals.

Rasha is a narcissistic man who can’t get enough of his fans and himself. When hanging around his fans, he tends to ask if they have a mirror to look at himself with. Don’t let his vanity fool you! He’s funny, incredibly easy to be with, and willing to treat people to drinks. He writes most of the lyrics for the group’s songs.

C Every hour, you will receive a text from the official *BTSB fanclub with a link to a poll. The texts will not stop unless you answer the poll. Please answer it ICly, as the answers will affect the event later this month!

I think you can, too. This world tends to throw oddities and other strange situations at us left and right... when I arrived, I was immediately kidnapped by the statue of a water goddess, who then attempted to drown me.

[Okay, c'mon, he's dealt with weird alien hedgehog creature threats and everything, and of course there's ending up here to add on top of that, so it's not like the concept of "weird thing happens" is anything new to him.

But there's something about that that just doesn't click with the things he knows. Brain says fuck no. Brain says that's not how things work.]

A... statue. Like some kind of... bronze statue, or...?

['Cause, y'know, if it's metal maybe it's just some funky robot with a drowning feature. That, he can deal with.]

A statue of a sea goddess, I think she was called an Osse? Or... the Osse. Something like that.

[ She hadn't been paying a whole lot of attention at the time. Mostly, she was just trying to get free... she'd literally just come from an extremely similar situation at home, after all. ]

A stone statue. I've never seen anything like that before. I've no idea what sort of magic was used to bring her to life...

[ She's not so sure she wants to know, either, thanks. ]

[He'd been hoping that any mystical magical ridiculousness around here was more for show than anything, a veneer of mysticism to mask more advanced alien technology that he could get his hands on. But it's starting to seem like this place... truly has both.]

Nothing in the local legends that'd describe such a thing?

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

He just has to hope it works the other way around.]

You don't get too many explanations around here? Magic's not much of a thing where I come from. Unless it involves sleight of hand. [He glances upwards thoughtfully.] Sleight of rock?

[ Boy is he in for some fun surprises down the road. The Osse incident had been enough for her tastes, and yet she knows that there's more craziness to be expected. Craziness, and probably destruction, if the stories others have told her are true. ]

There are stories of the goddess, but not of her statue coming to life... apparently, she's returned in the museum where she belongs, and has returned to her statuesque self.

[ Which is good news all around as far as Luna's concerned. She's had enough sea goddesses in her lifetime, thanks. ]

I'm afraid not. Magic is uncommon in my world as well, though it is very real. Only the Kings of Lucis and Oracles of Tenebrae have magic running through their veins, though it is vastly different.

You'd think people'd want to know how it all works. They're fine with things happening without any explanation? With just a "that's how it is?" as an acceptable excuse? What happened? Oh, it's magic, don't worry about it! It's--

Yes, and I'm certain at least a few people would like to know. But we've not been given any answers... this world is an enigma. Those who have passed away in their worlds find themselves alive again here against all odds. Perhaps it truly is the work of the gods.

[ The ones here, at least. The gods at home aren't quite that kind. ]

Perhaps that is a blessing... magic comes at a cost, usually, and the cost is not worth it. Of course, I suppose it all depends on one's perspective.

[Robotnik scoffs.]

Gods. Right. If they aren't going to be forthcoming in their answers... Maybe they'll just need to be taken. Somehow. By... someone. Sometime.

[Okay, Robotnik, reel it in. No need to take it out on people, as much as he'd love to. He just crosses his arms, trying to look all casual.]

I'd tend to prefer the realm of science anyway even if there was magic all... flying around.

[Cue dismissive flying hand gesture to show how he feels about magic.]

I don't even know if such a feat is possible, or even where the Gods of this world reside. They are... very different from the ones I have dealt with.

[ She's still not sure if that's a good thing or not, honestly. When he starts to speak about science, she thinks that he would get along well with Verstael... that man could prattle on and on about science and splicing cells and...whatever else he enjoyed doing, holes up in his laboratory. ]

Science is a wonderful thing, and should be depended on before magic, I agree. Without it, we wouldn't have all of the modern marvels and comforts we are all accustomed to.

[ She pauses, and something suddenly dawns on her. ]

Oh! Forgive me, I've not properly introduced myself. My name is Lunafreya Nox Fleuret.

If there's gods, they have to be somewhere, right? [Because he's not so sure how so-called godly said gods would be.]

But, hah, well-said.

[He raises an eyebrow when she gives him an entire full name. He's not so forthcoming on his own, nor does he bother extending a hand for a shake or a high-five or anything like that.

But, y'know, he's at least polite about it.]

Dr. Robotnik. [He hesitates somewhat.] Nice... to meet you.

[Oh, she's pleasant enough, but he's also, y'know, not a fan of people.]

Indeed, but that could be quite literally anywhere. Where I am from, the Gods slumbered in various locations. [ Precarious areas she had to travel to to awaken them and it was awful and she does not suggest making such an attempt here, okay.

Fortunately for the good Doctor, Lunafreya is just as polite, but isn't the type for handshakes or high-fives, either. She's far too formal for that. So instead, he gets a small, polite bow. ]

It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Doctor.

[ Ah, but she's wasting his time... ]

Since I am here, is there anything you can think off that you may need? Food, any sort of essentials you are missing at the moment? I can go and get them for you.

[The question really catches him off-guard at first.]

Ohhh, trust me, I am missing soooo many essentials right now. [He starts counting on his fingers for effect.] Tools, materials, my entire lab, all of my projects, my sound system...

[He trails off. Those... aren't what most people would consider essentials.

He frowns, rubs his chin thoughtfully, and glances up.]

...I could really use a goddamn latte.

I could imagine... [ Oh. Oh, that's.... a lot. She can only offer him a small, sympathetic smile, because she doesn't know if she can quite go out and just... find things akin to labs and sound systems. Or actually get it to fit in an apartment. ]

I can't get those things for you, but I can certainly bring you a latte. Or we could go together and I could show you around a little bit.

[Robotnik shrugs. Normally, he's fine doing things on his own. But this is way newer territory than he usually has to deal with, his wrist device isn't cooperating like he'd like it to, and he might as well utilize a local guide if he's going to get one.

Might as well just suck it up and go along.

He nods, after what probably seems like waaaaaaay too much internal deliberation.]

Fine. Sure. Show me.

[ Something tells her that even without what little help she can offer, Robotnik would be just fine. He seems the type to be able to naturally adapt to his surroundings; he's intelligent, and even she can tell that his mind is sharp and fast. He's going to be just fine. ]

Very well. Come, I will take you to the shop a friend and I frequent quite often.

[ She will turn and begin down the hallway, fully expecting the poor man to come along as requested, naturally. ]

They seem to have many offerings, so hopefully there will be one you will enjoy. I am more of a tea person myself, but I've grown fond of iced coffees.

Lead the way.

[He stalks off behind her, not looking forward to all the small talk this is going to generate, but at least he'll be getting his damn coffee.

Won't be as good as Stone's, of course, but he knows how to make do.]

Never really got into tea. I find it... kind of unpleasant.

[King of small talk.]

[ This is an educational opportunity for him, clearly. Learning how to make small talk can be fun! ]

Well, perhaps one day you will find one you like. There are many varieties, after all. Did you know that they actually make 'tea latte''s? I was not made aware of this until coming here.

[ As they make their way outside and down the sidewalk, she hums thoughtfully. ]

What sort of coffee beverage is your favorite?

[He thought that was kind of obvious, so maybe he should specify.]

My fiance mentioned having them in his home city as well, though I'm afraid I was only there once and it was a very brief amount of time. [ There was no time for coffee breaks when one is fleeing for their life with the most precious artifact in the world, after all.

Latte's, he says. There are many varieties, and she's about to ask him which one, but he answers before she has the chance. ]

That does sound good. I hope they have something similar to that... do you enjoy it hot or cold?

Fascinating, [he says, managing to squeeze most of the sarcasm out before he says it. Being an ass isn't going to do him any favors here.

[It's so mind-numbing he tries to look at as many things they pass as possible. It's totally just him being curious. Totally.]

You need not pretend to be interested for my sake, Doctor. [ She wasn't born yesterday, after all. Besides, she's had to be That Person on many, many occasions, and she understands it isn't the easiest thing to do. Forcing a smile here, a nod there. She gets it. ]

Well, then I hope they have something similar to what you enjoy.

[ Fortunately, they are nearing their destination, and once they are just across the street, she stops. ]

There it is. The menu is quite expansive, perhaps if they don't have a similar latte, you will be able to find something else just as delightful.

Ah. My bad. [Whoops, caught. Went over alright, though, so that's fine.]

Well... even if they don't, I seem to be stuck with it, so it'll just have to do, huh?

[He peers across the street. Looks normal enough, although who knows how different things are in this strange new world?
