You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. Even the few shy moon creatures you find in the wild have strange crystal growths on their hides. This is far from home— perhaps a dream? You pinch your skin and slap your cheeks, yet nothing seems to do the trick. Searching for answers yields nothing but an endless expanse of purple dust as far as the eye can see. You have four options: one, panic; two, soil yourself; three, admire it all then soil yourself; or four, go into survival mode. Eventually, you’ll realize that you’re not alone.

▶ Keep all Hands and Feet inside the Burning Vehicle at all Times
Iris Moon, Government Center (Arrival) and Outer Space | top

After a day or two of living off the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. After the strange phenomenon during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.

You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? Why did I mix tequila with xanax last night? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay.

While waiting for transport to be prepared, you may freely roam around the government center. Eventually you’re called back from exploring, escorted to the docks, and led onto a large transport vessel that makes frequent trips back and forth between the moons and the planet. Faces onboard vary from both old and new Moonblessed as well as Prismal locals. The next destination: Prismatica.

A. After settling into the ship and selecting the current in-flight movie, Back Door Slugs 9, you and those around you may eventually feel a bit of turbulence during the movie’s highly anticipated climax. Did anyone notice it, or is everyone too focused on the hot characters?

At first, it’s a small jitter that’s easy to miss or brush off. But as the transport vessel travels on, the shaking progressively escalates to erratic tremors strong enough to cause severe nausea. A minute later, a voice over the speaker announces the ship will have to make an emergency landing, citing technical difficulties.

Sparks can be seen overhead as more ship parts malfunction. This is a good time to hold your neighbor’s hand, say your last goodbyes, and apologize for that horrible thing you did in the sixth grade. Grip your seat with the might of every god you can think of.

B. Another minute later, a follow-up announcement states that external entities have breached the transport vessel. Everyone is warned to be careful and watch out for each other. Small fires will have to be put out before they worsen with either magic or emergency equipment onboard such as extinguishers. In-flight robotic attendants will be scuttling around to perform immediate repairs.

Eventually, an entire power panel bursts, and prismatic jellyfish unnaturally spill out. The jellyfish will try to latch and suction onto any technological devices close by such as the television screens on the seats or communicators and will show preference to Iris Moonblessed over the rest. Be ready to help and pull numerous jellyfish off both the faces of Moonblessed and Prismals!

▶ Jaws IV: Jaws Harder
Planet Prismatica, Outer Lunatia | top

The emergency landing successfully completes and the transport vessel will safely land on top of a gorgeous lake filled with tiny glaciers floating by. When reached out and touched, you’ll find out that the “glaciers” are surprisingly cool crystals and not ice.

The ship will be left hovering idly on the water surface while passengers are ferried to solid ground using portable emergency boats. However, civilization is still a distance away.

A. You’ve probably heard of flying sharks from a veteran Moonblessed. But how about sea lions? These aquatic lions are born with scaly skin and gills outside of their crystallized manes. Unfortunately, they haven’t tasted fresh meat in quite some time. If there are any injured onboard or near your boat, the chances of the sea lions detecting people will be higher as they are drawn to the scent of blood. Growling hungrily, they will be quick to latch onto the boats, biting the edges, and trying to knock everyone overboard for dinner.

After surviving through so far, the Prismals guide everyone to a nearby encampment run by humanoid rabbits. They are tall, built, and have a habit of mentioning their virility an awkward amount of times. They are also generous and will share their game meat and fresh crops while allowing everyone to rest for the night at the only inn in their village.

B. There is no running water all the way out here, so if anyone wants a bath, they’ll have to do it traditionally. The village protects a natural spring, which is a good place to bathe away the sea water. Around the spring, the rabbit folk’s friends — little scintilla chinchillas — will shock away any predators that dare to approach their sanctuary! Be at ease and feel free to offer your friends shampoo massages.

The next day, the rabbits can be seen hacking away at some of the wilder-looking plants for an easier pathway. If you wake up early enough, you can ask some of them for a tour of the beautiful greenery. They mention that it’s thanks to the Moonblessed that their crops have been doing so well lately — the result of all the chroma influx. The rest of the journey to the city will be smooth sailing.

Level 2, City of Lunatia | top

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated. After a quick tour of the city, new arrivals can find themselves getting cozy in their new homes.

A. Find new roommates and say hello to your neighbors! City officials will give you directions to the designated districts across Level 2 and instruct you to pick out a unit. Each apartment complex has a different aesthetic, some may look cozy, some stylish, and some bizarre. The free accommodations have a basic living space that can only fit two or three people at most in one unit.

Starter Chromaspace furnishings are provided which can be controlled with the touch of a built-in panel. Examples are color-changing curtains, transforming sofa beds, cabinets turning into tables, etc. Customizing your apartment or moving out will have to wait until you earn more chroma. Until then, why don’t you check out your new neighborhood or explore the city levels? Maybe your new roommates or neighbors can give you a “hand” with allowance for dinner.

B. A new high-end boutique, Prissy Polyp, has opened in Level 2. As compensation for what happened, both Moonblessed and Prismals that were affected in yesterday’s flight will receive 50% off their total purchase. Those unaffected will receive 30% discount coupons as a promotional gift. All are encouraged to visit with their friends or special someone, try on some things together, enjoy each other in the fitting rooms, and deal with the loud, ear-blistering background pop music.

Their clothing collections are characterized by bright iridescent designs, some features such as design patterns may glow ethereally in the dark. One of their signature dresses features a one piece (also available on their trench coats) that can amplify the appearance of one’s decolletage, gluteal muscles, and/or bulge with the press of a neon button. Another item among their collection is the maiden sweater: a sleek, backless sweater that shocks those who attempt unwanted touches. Others include skin-tight leggings (also available on their shorts or pants) which produce pleasant and relaxing vibrations on all lower extremities and fashionable polyp-shaped hats for all kinds of people. It’s a huge shop, you never know what else to find in there.

A.

Ace is right at home with the rabbit people. They're pretty much Minks in his mind, and they're pleasant and they fed him. So as far as he's concerned, they're quality people worth knowing, even with the constant talk of their prowess. He'll be making himself comfortable and relaxing for now, he'll be found eating often and making small talk with whoever ends up close enough to him that's willing to chat back. Towards night, he'll be outside of the inn more than he's in it, looking to the skies as he tries to process what's actually happened to him.

This is a hell of an adventure, but considering that he's not even supposed to be alive, this is a lot to take in.

▶ IT’S FREE REAL-ESTATE

A

If someone was to want to meet Ace on the best terms possible, unfortunately it's just not happening today. Instead, he's sneaking in to any place that has a strong smell of good food, wolfing down as much as his mouth can stretch open to fit. Or he's at his most charming, leaning against doorways and smiling. "Mind helping a guy out? I'm starving!" Perhaps he's passed out on someone else's bed, or in front of a door that needs to actually be opened. Either way, Ace is like a cat, everywhere he's not supposed to be, into everything, and all smiles and sheepish apologies to anyone who actually gets offended at his presence there.

B

Prissy Polyp's might just be too much for Ace in a good way. He's a little overwhelmed at the options here, for a man who's taste equals boots and shorts for life, this is a bit crazy. But it's fun, and he's having a good time trying on everything that even slightly perks his personal interests, eyeing all of the patterns and testing every option out. There's several amused attempts at playing with the garments that amplify the appearance of certain body parts, followed by the occasional snort of laughter at the results. The vibrating shorts however, get him to sit down quickly when he tests the affect out.

"Damn. Those oughta come with a warning."

There probably is one, after all. Or an advertisement at least. But Ace is not one to pay attention to fine details ahead of time, unless it's something important.

“Nah, I don’t mind,” he says, offering his hand to the man in front of him.

"You're the best!"

Ace takes Greed's hand and shakes it firmly. Anyone who's willing to feed him is instant friend material.

"I'm Ace. Good to meet you!"

Greed’s surprised by the handshake, having offered his hand in order to facilitate Chroma generation, not for a shake. But he’s totally fine with the handshake, despite it taking him by surprise.

“I’m Greed the Avaricious,” Greed replies. “And it’s nice to meet you too.”

Generating Chroma didn't even come to Ace's mind. The touch feels great, it really does, but Ace is also touch starved as a rule, and still mentally messed up from death. So he doesn't even place the heightened sensation, mentally or physically, to anything really. It just felt really good to shake the guy's hand, more than it should, and he lingers before letting go, and that's okay. He'll deal with things later when he's been fed.

"That's a hell of a name." Ace isn't even sure what Avaricious means. But he doesn't care. His stomach is making almost embarrassingly loud noises, and he's ready to put something in it. "So... do you have some food here? Or are we going somewhere for a meal?"

“We’re going somewhere,” Greed replies, since he doesn’t have food and he figures that, if they go somewhere, he can explain Chroma to Ace on the way there.

Plus, by now, Greed knows where all the good bars in Prismatica are.

Ace has had several explanations already. It's just that nothing has really sunk in. It's all so much, and his head is spinning and his mind is all over the place. So he doesn't even think of connecting point A to point B, at least when his stomach is screaming at him.

"Great. Let's go!" Ace is way too excited about this, he's very food motivated and he'll be good company because of it.

Luffy is tired and bored and when he gets to his apartment he feels a presence inside and he's ready to fight. He hasn't had a real fight in what seems like forever!

So he kicks the door open and stretches his arms to the body curled up under is blankets, but when he pulls them out he gasps.

Probably not asleep anymore, but there he is. His dead brother.

"Dreaming, yup."

He puts the blanket down again, turning around and going to the kitchen, where he takes a glass of milk and drinks it, trying to wake himself up from his nightmare. He probably passed out from lack of chroma, yeah, probably.

Ace doesn't wake up right off, it's Ace after all, and his odd sleeping habits are as legendary as his appetite. But after a moment he forces himself up with a groan, and wanders into the kitchen to try to scrounge up something to eat. He rubs his eyes, and stretches, before casually greeting his brother.

"Oh, hey Luffy."

And then he jerks, eyes widening. "Luffy! You're here!"

Luffy, with tears in his eyes, lets the glass drop on the floor. He stretches his arms and wraps them twice around Ace's shoulders, pulling himself forwards and crushing him in a hug.

"Aaaaace!" He's sobbing loudly, snot coming out of his nose, "Ace!"

Ace braces, and then clings to Luffy when he's all but assaulted with a hug. Even if Luffy is gross crying on him, even if Ace is starting to cry, this feels impossibly good and he doesn't want this to ever end. Nothing feels quite as good as second chances do, and his brother's touch is incredibly warm and good.

"It's okay, Luffy. I'm here. "

It's okay now, at least. Ace himself is still dealing with considerable trauma connected to his life, death, and unexpected salvation. If he even died at all, that is. For him, the timeline between life and death is blurry and all he knows is that he's here and so is his little brother. So regardless of what happened in that past world that wanted Ace dead just for living, this is a welcomed new start.

Luffy knows now tat he's not dreaming, for sure, because this is Ace e's touching! He's warm, so warm, and it feels so different from the last time they were together.

"Ace!" He sniffs, still clinging to his brother, "Ace! You died!"

He sobs once more, and then sniffs again, "I even told Tama you died! She's going to be so mad!"

"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have left you like that."

As if he had any choice in that matter. One of them was going to die that day. And if it wasn't Ace, it absolutely would have been Luffy. And Ace would die a thousand times if it meant that his little brother would live on. Luffy, who loved him no matter what, was worth every moment of pain and sacrifice for.

"Wait, Tama? You made it there, even! Damn, Luffy. You just don't stop."

Ace just squeezes out of Luffy's grip enough to put his own arms around his brother too. They make a fine tangle together, and gods, he didn't realize how much he missed being close to him.

Real estate A.

[As an adventurer, there's a saying, don't expect normality. Erozea may have their customs but that doesn't mean their neighboring nations will follow the same suit. Erozea is filled with beast and humans, a lizardfolk can walk with ease, a lizard with horns.

Like any other day, Shar was attempting some culinary. She never joined the guild, rather she ate out more often because of her travels. Now that was inaccessible, it was bound time she tried it. She was good at frying her prize catch, fish. The moment she looked away from her kitchen, a single moment, it was then she heard someone scoffing something down. Her horn picked up movement in the air, she slowly turned her gaze back and what does she find? A young man. Worst. A pirate judging by the mark on his back.

If this complex wasn't so small, she let her axe fly. Alas, that will not do. Next course of action, she let her dagger talk instead. She let a dagger cut wind allowing the blade to pass barely in front of his face to send the message. Ace is about to meet one aggressive lizard girl. She was armed with a pair of daggers.]

You best have a reason to be here pirate. The next blade I will naught miss. Where do you hail from?

[Important question. She also happened to be from the Dutiful Sisters, a rouge guild who goes by a certain code mainly for them and pirates.]

Unfortunately, most of the affect of Erozea's intense bladed threat and frightening presence is missed. Ace has been eating a lot, not just here but before he found her quarters. And when Ace has enough to eat, he often ends up a victim of his strange disorder.

Right as the dagger is about to fly in front of his face, Ace's head rolls back and to the side. And while he's still upright, in at least some sense of the word, he's slumped a bit and awkwardly position. And then, he starts snoring. Her words mean nothing at the moment, because Ace is entirely asleep and not there to here them.

Narcolepsy has struck again.

By the gods did he...fell asleep? This made Shar take the time to glimpse around the room as if expecting something to happen. A strange pirate walked right in and ate, not only he miraculously dodged the blade, he fell asleep. Inspector Hildibrand may as well be the culprit behind this odd event.

Shar is no backstabber, the pirate isn't doing harm. But still... Shar raised a closed fist to her mouth, pondered on how to go about. Toss the cove out the door? Lock him in a room and ask later? Let the lad nap and ask when he's awake. Or...

Ah!

With a thought in mind, Shar was on the move. She gathered some rope, sheets, anything she owned that could serve as a binding to the chair he occupied on. When the chores were set and done, Shar would end up with one tied pirate on the chair with a blanket over him. Can't be too heartless now. It was a matter of waiting for the lad's wake.

Ace is easily bound, he shows no sign of waking as she ties him. And he sleeps contentedly for another ten minutes, snoring loudly, before his head jerks upright again and he gazes at the world around him with bleary eyes. Because something here is not right.

Wait...

What happened?

Did he pass out again?

He doesn't remember anyone else being here with him...

He finally stares at Erozea and blinks for a couple of times before speaking. "Eh? Eh? It happened again, I guess..." He yawns, and his tongue darts out and he laps up a couple of crumbs still on his face. Ace is absolutely food focused, and even those bits aren't missed. "Damn..."

"Happened what exactly?"

Shar asked from the other end of the table. She helped herself to some ginger tea, sipping and calm. The man was bound at least so Shar didn't felt the need to worry. Plus, she didn't mind this kind of conversation, the poor bugger doesn't realize what Shar had done, yet.

Ace yawns, and shakes his head intensely as he tries to wake up a little more. He's so close to just passing back out, but he really doesn't want to. So he tries to get himself together so he can actually stay up.

"I fell asleep again."

He doesn't seem at all worried about being tied up, he doesn't even acknowledge it. Instead just peering at her with a sleepy sort of expression.

Flora after spending a certain amount of time adjusting to the fact that well... she was a long way from home and that things here were very different than what she was used to.

But what she wasn't used to was the sight of vibrating shorts. Just... she wonders what Stella would think of something like that.

"Those shorts certainly are unique. Were you considering them?"

Ace huffs. It's not that they're bad, they're just a lot to handle when there really isn't anything like this back home. At least not that he knows about, anyway.

"Yeah, I kinda was. But didn't expect them to do... that." He doesn't have anything against them, even now. They're pleasant, in a way that's a little embarrassing. And he's still considering them to some degree. It's just not something that he would have tried in public if he would have been aware of the effects. "Things are really different here."

"I never would have expected them to do that either, but the person who made them I am sure had a good reason to consider the design." It was not something she figured she was going to put a lot of thought into, but it would make sense the person who made them had a reason behind the choice, right?

She soon clapped her hands together happily. "But I will at least say they did suit you."

"I guess so. Maybe it's good for pain? Like a backrub for your legs and butt..." That doesn't seem right, though. "Or something like that. Or to shake out venomous bugs that might crawl in if you fall asleep in them."

They're too tight for that though, at least as far as Ace is concerned. But he can't imagine another reason that someone would need vibrating pants. But he does grin when she compliments him, it's nice to have someone positive to talk to and his ego benefits from the boost. "Yeah? Maybe I'll get them. They're not uncomfortable. They're just strange."

She crossed her arms over her chest as she pondered over the answers. The first one could make a bit of sense in some ways but she didn't think it might apply here. At least that is what she thought.

The second one though gave her pause for concern. "They have venomous bugs here, then? Though even so... I don't think vibrations could shake them off completely. It would cause them to try elsewhere instead."

But whatever the reason they might never know, but Flora was just enjoying the conversation. "But with fashion, there is always that item thats out there, but that seems to be the fashion sometimes. I don't get it, but if you like it, why not, right?" After another moment it slowly dawns on ehr that she hasn't introduced herself.

"Ah, I'm sorry. It's rude of me to not say my name. I'm Flora."

Her question makes Ace scratch fingers through his hair as he thinks. Huh. This is a tough one.

"I think they have those kinda bugs anywhere. I was just assuming, but you'd figure that they would! Nowhere is free of bugs, that's kinda a rule."

But he hasn't seen a single one since he's been here. But he also hasn't looked. "Guess it's going to be a mystery. I'm gonna get them because they're fun." And because they feel weirdly nice. But that's a side point.

"Oh, hey. I'm Ace. Good to meet you, Flora! Are you getting anything here?"
